Notes: Steelmind once recited to an elder a speech he had made that was precisely contradictory to a position the elder was supporting at that moment. He didn't do it in public though, so it saved the poor elder some embarassment. The elder, grinning ruefully, said the boy had a mind like a steel cage--nothing that got locked into it ever escaped. And thus the nameless colt became Steelmind.
Indeed, Steelmind rarely forgets anything he ever hears. He has a brilliant poker face, and it's hard to tell what's going on inside his skull. He doesn't smile much, or put himself forward in an obvious way. Behind the scenes is more his style. He's certainly not someone to tangle with though! He's got nerves of steel to match his mind, and isn't going to just back down cause something thinks he's bigger and badder. However, Steelmind doesn't think he can conquer all. Quite the opposite, he is mildly scornful those who don't know their own limitation and doesn't entirely trust them not to do something stupid.
Even though he doesn't speak up often in groups, once you befriend Steelmind he's quite willing to chat. He's a very loyal friend, and definetly someone you'd want at your back when going through a tough time. In love he's true to the bone. He's not going to coddle though, and hopes to find a partner who can stand on her own four hooves. Even if that means two strong personalities have to clash from time to time. After all, he's under no illusion that love means a perfect life with no arguing.
