Suki looked at Lilly, concern etched into her usually soft and distant face. "I think you should drink this Lilly. It's a protection serum. It'll put my mind at peace, kind of." Handing the cup to her, Suki turned and faced Leighton. "Obviously, she has a telekinetic ability. But then what is she? No wings, so not an angel or demon. No visible fangs, not a vampire. No ears or tail, not a neko." Suki just kept listing off the not possibilities, not sure what she could find what would fit Lilly. Feeling the hairs on her arms perk, she pulled her sweatshirt tighter to her. Lilly was going to be an interesting companion, that was for sure. As for Scarrlet, Suki wasn't positive what she was going to do. Torture, death, neither seemed good enough to punish the vampire. Maybe both. She could use her basement again, where all her devices were. A demonic smile played on her lips at the thought. "It's Scarrlet by the way Leighton. She's the one hunting you and Lilly down." Suki looked at Leighton, wishing she had the guts to reach into his mind and see why he was always watching Lilly with a stare the was both depressed, interested, and caring all at once. It was fasinating to her.

Lilly crawled onto the sofa and closed her eyes after drinking the potion. She saw a spiral of purple and blue, then white, then she was at a skyrise. She saw two people, Scarlett and the boy. Her eyes darted open, and she was back to reality. She didn't look at Leighton or Suki, just at the floor.
Leighton put his hands in his pockets again. "Who knows what she is." he got closer to Suki, not wanting Lilly to hear to where she'd be frightened even more. "She's starting to discover powers, maybe she'll discover wings or what ever." Wrong. the voice said. Leighton winced. He scratched his stubble on his chin in thought. What if she's a whole new breed of a race? But how? "A super human, perhaps?" Leighton mumbled to himself. Scarlett and Alex were the least of his worries at the moment.

Suki blushed as Leighton stepped closer. "Maybe. Or one of the creatures of night could have had kids with a human, making her a half breed." Suki inhaled leightons scent, wanting to memorize it, to be able to smell it everyday for the rest of her everlasting life. Scarrlet would take this opportunity to kiss him... Suki winced at the thought of her demonic and twisted blood sister.

Leighton sighed deeply. "I suppose we'll eventually figure it out." he looked up to the dim window. "The sun is coming up. I should get going." He looked over at Lilly and frowned. He walked over to her and knelt down by the sofa. "I'm glad it was you who found my book." he forced a smile for her. He said his goodbyes and then vanished out of thin air. Lilly smiled at Leighton. When he vanished, she sat up from the sofa and huffed. "Whoa." she said in amazement.

Suki sighed as she watched Leighton disappear. Suki went and sat next to Lilly, wrapping a blanket around herself. "I know you saw something earlier. There was two people, Scarrlet and Alex. What did you think of it?" Suki's timeless and distant gaze was set on Lilly, but her mind was on Leighton. Will he come back tonight? Suki thoughts were jumbled from lack of sleep, food, and just blood lust. She may be an angel, but no one ever said all angels had good intentions.

Lilly looked up at Suki with wary eyes. "I don't know." she paused as she stared back at the floor. "The image was blurry. But they were close together." she said vaguely. She clutched her hands together. "What's happening to me?" she slowly looked up at Suki with teary eyes.
Leighton appeared in a tunnel. He plopped onto his bed and stretched his arm out to open his mini fridge. He took out two viles of blood and gulped them down. Then he threw the empty bottles to the dirt ground. He laid on his back and stared at the ceiling that was covered with pictures of other night lurkers. They either had red x's on their faces or their picture was still untouched. But there was a new picture. It was Suki. Leighton bolted upright on his bed. He breathed hard and looked frantically around his room. I told you. She must go. She's not who you think she is, Leighton. Leighton winced. "No." he buried his head in his hands.
Suddenly he was back at Suki's house, holding a strange knife. He was breathing hard and his face was lowered and was glaring at Suki. Lilly jumped and cowered to the edge of the sofa.

Suki flinched into the couch, her eyes widening with horror as Leighton hovered over her with a knife in his hand. Suki couldn't find her voice, she just opened her mouth and let her jaw hang slack.

Leighton stepped over her. His voice boomed, though it didn't sound like his. "Feel how your victims felt!" he threatened. His hand clenched around the demonic knife. His eyes continued to flare then go to normal.
Lilly screamed when seeing a dark silhouette behind Leighton. She was the only one who saw it. "It's not Leighton! It's not him!" she yelled. Then the figure vanished. Leighton fell to the floor and the knife sliced into him below his ribs. He gasped for air as his eyes turned back to their dark brown. He rolled over on his back and pulled the knife out with a grunt. The wound was deep and a smoky fog escaped it, giving off the scent of demon blood mixed with a harsh chemical, like the smell of sulfur. It stung and made his whole body throb. He yelled with pain. The knife wasn't your average knife obviously.

Suki was still frozen to the couch when Lilly screamed. How does he know?! Suki was terrified, seeing Leighton standing over her with a knife, wanting to kill her, wanting to end her killing. But it was also beautiful. Leighton fell from her though and screamed. Jumping up, she grabbed the blanket from around her and handed it to Lilly. "Cover the wound." Suki commanded calmly. Running into the kitchen, she grabbed liquor and gauze and water. She ran to Leighton's side. "Shhh. I'm here, I'll make the pain go away. I promise." Suki set to work immediately. Pulling a needle out of the couch, she poured liquor onto it. Finding thread, she set to sewing his would closed. Half way through, she poured water and liquor onto the cut, making the venom's inside pour out. Suki finished closing the the wound, and covered her work with gauze. Leaning down, she wanted to kiss him, but ended up just kissing his forehead lightly. "Don't tell Lilly what you know about me. Please." Suki whispered into Leighton's ear. Suki stayed bent over Leighton, realizing she was sitting on him. She slowly slid off, and then carefully moved his onto the couch. Sitting near his chest, she wiped away the sweat on his forehead with her hand and sighed as she left her hand cradling Leighton's face. Suki shifted her gaze to Lilly and smiled weakly. "I bet you didn't expect all this to happen when you opened that door last night." Suki whispered as she laid her head on Leighton wearily. "Are you okay?" Suki still locked her eyes on Lilly, wondering when the shock and terror would reach it's peak. Lilly seemed almost too calm.

Lilly seemed completely frozen, her arms hanging on her sides. She didn't blink. They only stared off into space. How can I see these things? Now her paranormal powers were slowly edging their way through her brain.
Leighton yells were full of pain as Suki treated his gash. He slowly opened his eyes, seeing that there was gauze around his stomach and wound. He slowly stood and ignored the throbbing pain. He took off his bloody v-neck, revealing his perfectly sculpted torso, though it held many scars, just as his face did. He looked down at Suki. "Thanks." He didn't know what Suki was so guilty for, the voice did. But the voice's knowledge of her was given to Leighton. As he figured out, he kept his expression blank. It's that human's fault! You wouldn't be hurt if it wasn't for her! the voice yelled angrily. Leighton looked down at the black blade. It evaporated into the air, but would come back for it's victim later on. Leighton flopped onto the couch between Lilly and Suki and wiped his sweaty forehead.
Lilly's eyes seemed to flicker. She focused back on reality and looked over at the two with a blank face. Occasionally she would hear the mumble of the boy and girl from earlier, but ignored it. Maybe I'm going crazy. she thought calmly.

Suki gasped when Leighton opened his eyes, and immediately pulled back her hand. Moving out of the way so he could he stand, Suki eyed Leighton carefully as he removed his shirt and sat back down. "What was that about?" Suki whispered as she leaned in to wipe blood off of Leighton's neck. "And you aren't crazy Lilly. Sorry I didn't ask to read your mind, but I'm waiting for the shock to settle in so I can calm you." Suki smiled warmly. Suki leaned into Leighton again and held him close. "Please, please, please don't tell Lilly what I've done. She doesn't need to know about my past... hobbies." Suki whispered into his ear softly. Reading into Lilly's mind again, she saw a shadowy figure with Leighton in her memory of the attack. Sitting up, but still clutching Leighton, she gazed at the figure with her distant gaze. Turning to Leighton, she met his eyes. "You didn't attack me mentally, only physically. Something was using your body." Suki stated, making sense of the shimmering figure with Leighton in Lilly's memory. Picking up Leighton's shirt, she threw in the basket next to the couch. His blood was on her hands. Memories flashed in front of her eyes, memories of others blood on her hands when she stole their memories, and pieced together who she was before she died and was created. A sick smile played across her lips at the thought of what Leighton might know, but she stopped the thought there. I can't do that to him, I love him.... Suki's smile faded and she rested her head on Leighton's shoulder and closed her eyes.

Lilly looked at Suki and only nodded. Slowly the figure became clearer and clearer, but no face was made out. It would take a long time until she could make out the features of the body.
Leighton looked at the bloody gauze around his waist. "I know it wasn't me. I know." Leighton invited Suki into his memories. They would show her he was a bounty hunter, the pictures on his ceilings, the dark figure with red eyes controlling him when ever it wants, him killing the people in the pictures, why it was there; his wife and brother's death in his old world during the war against demons and angels. He still couldn't get over that. But it would not show her the voice or let her know about it.

Suki sighed as she entered Leightons mind. Seeing every thing. His wife die. His job as a bounty hunter. And her picture on the ceiling of victims. Opening her eyes, Suki gasped and let go of Leighton. Tears threatened to slip over, but she held them back. Blinking before turning to the man who tried to kill her, she gasped once more. "I'm so sorry about your wife." Suki said much to loudly, trying to cover her fear. Turning to Leighton finally, she just stared at his hands. "How did I become one of the hunted Leighton?" Suki whispered. "HOW?!" She screamed as the tears flowed freely, falling onto Leightons shirtless torso.

Lilly looked up at Leighton. "Oh, Leighton!" she wrapped her arms around Leighton and sobbed. Lilly was just a hopeless romantic, and now knowing about his wife made her want to snuggle Leighton for comfort.
Shockingly, Leighton accepted her embrace, and looked over at Suki. "You killed important people with out knowing it. One of them was the figure's father. It enraged him." Leighton said without opening his mouth. The sentences only went to Suki's ears, not to Lilly's. Eventually, Lilly looked up from Leighton and released him. Leighton wiped away her tears with a smile. "It's alright, Lilly." he reassured her.

Suki's eyes widened at how easily Leighton was able to embrace Lilly. She opened her mouth to say something, but quickly shut. Standing up, she watched him wipe away Lilly's tears and reassure her. That was just another stab in her heart that made a single red tear flow down her cheek. Looking at Leighton, she tossed a sweatshirt at him and walked to the kitchen. The tears truly came out when she was alone. Curling into a ball on the counter, she let the sobbing shake her thin frame. "It's never me, it never will be." She whispered through her silent tears.
