                                        To improve humanity as they knew it, he was told.

                                        It had been almost a decade since the discovery of supernatural beings. Mutants. Freaks. Unnaturals. That was what everyone thought of them, and the names weren't kept secret, either. Everywhere on the streets, people would speak of these "creatures" with a disdainful tone, as if they were merely stains on their trousers or spots on the bottoms of their shoes. Of course, the scientists had the job of creating an "official" name for them, and so they were labeled "extraterrestrial sentient organisms", "ETSO" for short. It was just a name, of course, used to make the government look like they were any humanitarian...But everyone knew better. And none of them did anything about it.

                                        To the human public, everyone of the ETSO population was unearthly. No one actually knew whether they were really aliens or not, of course, as was assumed. But such is the nature of humans: when faced with even the possibility of a threat, the best way to deal with it was to make it utterly submit. And so the facilities were set up, the permissions and grants distributed to wherever they needed to go, all in the attempt to control these beings who had never laid a hand on humankind. They were treated as underlings, as lower class, something less than human - like bugs under a microscope - as scientists tried again and again to figure out what made them so special. What granted them the supernatural abilities that struck fear into their captors, the resilience and astounding speed of recovery, the prolonged life that almost all humans had the greed to crave?

                                        The ETSOs were an enigma, to say the least. Years of research had yielded almost nothing. The experimentation was harsh, subjecting these beings to physical tests that had the potential to kill any human. Death of an ETSO was not unheard of in the labs, but the government brushed it off, saying that it was "all in the name of science". And no one challenged them, because no one disagreed that knowledge equaled power.

                                        And then someone made the health excuse. What if, scientists proposed, humans could mimic the ETSO healing process? It would be a breakthrough in medicine if the human body could be made to simulate that. And so the studies turned to finding a way, creating a cure-all for any type of injury or disease, hungrily developing what could very well be the elixir of life. And it wasn't all. The government held a classified meeting just one year after the Elixir of Life project, and it made a decision that would challenge the authority of God: once the secret was extracted and a safe formula procured, the ETSOs would be eliminated - "removing a threat to humanity", they dubbed it...Making sure that humans remained the dominant race on Earth.

                                        That agreement was kept secret, of course. And so the names started pouring in when facilities began recruiting, crowds of aspiring and veteran scientists alike, eager to do some good for their race. Little did they know what they were really getting into.

                                        It was no different within the Beilschmidt household. Gilbert and Ludwig had signed up immediately, taking up the first chance they got to apply for a position. Both got in, of course, and the two soon found themselves pulling on lab coats and gloves and heading into separate rooms for their first assignment.

                                        They walked side by side for a while, discussing what the day might be like (or, rather, Gilbert ranted while Ludwig tried to get him to calm down) before separating at the end of the hallway, where there was a fork. With a brief wave, Ludwig headed down the left hall and Gilbert walked down the right, reading the numbers on the doors until he came to his assigned room. Grinning, he turned the knob and pushed the door open, walking inside.

                                        It was a sterile room with various machines situated inside (he congratulated himself for actually knowing what they all did), nothing different from the sort of thing one would see in a surgery room. Gilbert glanced around. Well, that was less exciting than he expected. He walked further into the room with his clipboard, where he saw a young lady sitting on a chair. Or, rather, bound into a sitting position on the chair with thick straps that extended from one side to the other.

                                        She was quite beautiful, he had to admit, emerald green eyes and long brunette hair. He looked her over for a moment, raising an eyebrow. So this was the ETSO he'd been assigned? She didn't look anything special, though, even if she was pretty. Eh, whatever. Gilbert lowered his clipboard after jotting down a couple of things and returned his attention to her.

                                        "Gilbert Beilschmidt. So I'm supposed to be the one in charge of you," he said, his voice confident. A woman, eh? Shouldn't be too tough to deal with, given the men he'd hung out with for practically his entire life, including his younger brother.

2. Please don't pester me for the status of your art. I'm not the fastest artist in the world, so asking me every few hours how progress is coming along is not going to help.

Question and Answer

1. How much for couple art?
However much you think I should get, with a 35k minimum for line art and 50k minimum for colored. As with singles art, please don't offer more than 100k per chibi.

2. How long will it take for me to get my art?
It depends on how many orders I get and what's happening in my life. Like the rest of you, I do have a life outside of Gaia, namely school. I don't have endless free time on my hands. So I'm sorry, but I really can't give you a straight answer on this one. We'll just have to play it by ear.

3. Do you do digital art?
Sadly, no. I don't have a tablet, which means that I would have to color everything digital with a mouse. And the last time I tried that, it didn't turn out well. So I'm sorry, but until I find a colorist, all my art will be traditionally colored with colored pencil. (If you'd like to apply to be my colorist, PM me and we'll work out details. ^^)

4. Do you do art trades?
Yes, absolutely! The main use for my gold is to purchase art, anyway, so an art trade is perfectly acceptable. I will, however, need samples of your work. Talk to me about it and we'll work out something.

5. Do I have to settle for avatar art?
Not at all. You can send me references for OCs if you'd like. Just make sure that the references have to be a clean, reasonably good representation of what your character looks like. I can't draw something very well if I have a messy picture to work from. Tektek refs are greatly preferred for Gaia avatars, but they are not necessary. If you don't include a Tektek, though, please don't change the avatar on me if I've begun drawing you already.

6. Do you do real-life commissions?
Not yet. I may do RLCs at some point, but for now, it's just Gaia gold.
