h3rsh3y fletchen sweatdrop My hubby and I left the psychiatrist's office tonight with an Rx for my daughter. We're going to try giving her Depakoke but we'll be stepping it in, of course. She's currently taking Adderall XR for ADHD and Abilify. I swear, all of these medications make me nervous. Anyone notice any strange side effects with Depakoke that I should watch out for? Yeah. Depakote makes a lot of people very pissed off at the world. It did it to one of my friends. sweatdrop Depakote can die! Don't take it, it messes with your head more than it should, and the side effects aren't worth it.

Her behavior has been the same, really, -- up and down, happy, crying and cranky. crying I just want to help her feel better.

Let's see...I am currently on Effexor (for depression), Abilify (for psychosis), Lamictal (mood stabilizer), and Adderal (to keep me awake). Medicines I've been on in the past: Paxil: this was before I wwas diagnosed bi-polar, and it sent me into a 24/7 manic episode. In several classes, my grades went from high A's to F's in about two weeks... stressed sweatdrop Zyprexa: made me sleepy Risperdal: umm...random side effect I;d rather not discuss; and several others that jsut aren't coming to mind right now sad

I take 100mg of Zoloft and I think 1mg of Risperdal. >_>; The Zoloft seems to make me happier, while the Risperdal keeps me un-crazy. >_>; I'm lucky I have these, because my parents have no clue what BP is and they are like, anti-medication. e_e; It's hard to deal with them 'cause they're just so..ugh. e.e; They're like, "Life's tough, get over it." all the time. I have a bad temper and I'm a real brat XD So when I hear things I don't like or that I don't want to hear, I usually become enraged. Dunno if that's from the medication or not though. o_O;

I've gained soooo much weight gonk Anyone know if that's normal? Many medications have a side effect of weight gain or loss, for instance, Topamax, the drug I'm on, is occasionally used to help morbidy obese people regain a healthier weight, sometimes. Because one of the main side effects is weight loss. I am not "morbidly obese" though, it just works with me for other reasons...

Update on me! I've been on the lamictal for three days now, and the difference so far is amazing. I haven't Had any depression at all, and my manias have been very small and managable. I've been able to focus and get more done. I don't know how long this will last, or if it's even because of the meds at all, but it's definately a nice change from being a total nutjob! sweatdrop
So I'm at home, shoveling snow and looking at summer classes I can take.
