It was cold.
Colder than Hawk thought it would be, after all he knew there use to be a pretty good-size, thriving city that occupied this region, so how did they survive in this winter. He decided he'd better keep that thought for later because right now he needed to focus on where he was going.

High in the air the part time bounty hunter, part time bar owner, glanced over the scenery below. His angel-like dark toned wings flapped sturdily through the cool jet stream before the green haired man spotted what seemed like shacks, covered in snow, a few miles down. Swooping the assassin landed on his feet to inspect the huts before he notice a group of snowmobiles randomly parked near each other. Approaching the vehicles his eyes fixed on a path further down where the snow had been recently unsettled and thats when he noticed them. Strung out and skewed at least a stretch of a mile, if not more, was what seemed like pieces of skeleton-like robotic zombies. The mercenary quickly unsheathed his Phoenix blade as the unsettling feeling that something was wrong came over him. Hawk cold have said "******** it" and left right there but the reason why the bar owner flew all the way there in the first pace was he need information. Why did Frostchild supplies cease in shipping to his pub? Why did the contractors not say anything about closing their business? Further more why hadn't anyone else heard what happened to the people here. Shaking his head the hunter confirmed he needed to find the answers himself if he was going to keep running his bar down in Barton to support his family. Deciding to leave his angel dagger in his chest so his enchanted wings would remain out, in case he had to take flight quickly, he followed the marked path toward the unknown keeping his Phoenix blade close.

Squeek, squeek, squeek.

The sound came from up ahead. A regular squeeking noise, coming about every half second to his ears. It was down the street, behind a large snow drift.

Squeek, squeek, squeek, clank.

A nice, heavy metalic noise broke up the pattern, like someone dropping a car door on bare pavement. But still the squeeking happened, seeming to get closer and closer. And remaining quite out of sight, due to that snowdrift. But any second now, oh, any second, it'd be around it.

(Aye, not to the hovels yet then.)

His heart jumped.
Only for a second, it wasn't likly for the assassin Hawk to be scared but this was the first time he had been to Frostchild and he didn't know what to expect. Also seeing the diced up robots in the streets gave him a sick feeling in his stomach he knew he needed toget rid of soon.

Squeek, squeek, squeek, clank.

The break in the pattern had no effect on the hunter as he tried to focus staring in the direction of where the inorganic noise was coming from, on the otherside of the snowdrift. Holding the Pheonix blade infront of him he knew he couldn't rely on much power from the sun being since it was the time of year it would be further away from Gaia's north, signalling the cold wave pastering the whole region in white, either way the hunter needed to rely on his own energy now. Freelly the green haired bar owner allowed his dark aura which was his chaotic energy to seep into his blade and mix with the fissure of solar energy saved from charging before the skies became unclear. Standing there, holding his ground, Hawk waited for what ever was coming to turn the corner so he could make his attack.

Squeek, squeek, squeek, clank!

And around the snowdrift the it appeared. First, a tangle of metal and bags. One quickly recognized as a standard shopping cart, apparently full of groceries, as several of the bags had taletell signs, like loaves of bread sticking out the top, even a carton of milk in the cart, and a 48 pack of "Gambino's Choice Root Beer" on the bottom rack of the cart.

The squeeking, a loose wheel.

But soon around the snowbank appeared the propulsion for that cart. A metallic, twisted skeletal figure, about 5'6" or so, pushing along the cart. With a 6' Robo-Zombie to her left, and a 4' little weenit Robo-Zombie tagging along behind the cart pusher.

So far, it seems they were unaware of the assassin's presence, despite the energy show.

Hesitation.
Another unlikely action taken from the slayer, what was with him today? Instead of unleashing the chaotic mass of energy with a hint of solar property he carefully watched as the cart filled with produce wheeled along the frost blanket path before noticing the androids behind it. First the one pushing the cart appeared and then another taller one to the left of it, following a much smallwe one, the group oddly resembling a family returning home from shopping. Hawk didn't know what to make of the situation, as weird as it may seem he wasn't sure if he should attack or not. In Gaia there was a lot of unorthodox creatures, maybe this was one of them and now that Hawk had a family of his own, attacking first hand was not an option.

Standing still he stared at the company wondering what he should do, "Maybe I should make contact?" he thought before yelling out. "Hey!" He called remaining armed as the energy continued to soak into his blade. "Do you guys live here?" he asked what seemed like the obvious. The hunter awaited an answer as he felt the cool breeze grow stronger.

Squeek, squeek, clank...

All three stopped dead in their tracks as the Angel Demon Assassin Bar Owner Family Man called out towards them. Eerily, as one they turned in lockstep, facing the stranger, their Robo-Zombie eyes locked dead upon him.

Slowly, they started to step out from behind the cart, leaving it behind as they walked towards the flesh and blood man. The snow seemed to bother them not, just ploughing through it. Their pace was a general walking pace, but very determined, and varying not an inch from a direct line towards him.

"Hey!"
He shouted realizing his bad decision as the band of robotic figures silently marched in his directions. He gave them a chance and they made the wrong choose, no answer meant no curtsy and the hunter would attack. Raising the sword to his right he made a diagonal cut through the air releasing some of the charged energy before lifting the sword again and slashing in the opposite direction, left to right. The murky chaotic solar energy in the shape of an "X" expanded ten feet in width and length cutting through the air at a great speed. If the attack made contact with the opponents it most likely would melt through their metallic form slicing through the parts that it touched.

The X Cut slashed through the air, and the creatures, through ignorance perhaps, did nothing at it approached them. There wasn't even so much of a flinch as the energy bit into them, burning the two taller ones into two large chunks, burned through at about their wastes. The kid bit it right in the neck and head. All of them fell to the ground, no longer moving.

Almost as an after thought, the cut continued, and burned up their groceries, spilling milk, root beer, and charred, blasted foodstuffs.

He took a deep breath noting the visibility of it. "What just happened?" With a shake of his head he second guessed what he was doing here but would continue on down the path pass the fresh chunks of metal and the burnt foodstuff (haha). Convinced there had to be 'normal' people here with the answers he was looking for unless robot-zombies knew how to ride snowmobiles. Continuing to wield his Phoenix Saber as it recharged he crept closer towards the snowdrift.

Snap, crackle, pop.

As the victorious warrior tread over the hacked pieces of the metallic creatures, something happened. Something not entirely nice.

There was a whirring noise. Four hands, twisted, sharp metal claws reached out for his legs as they stepped right over and near the arms of the fallen creatures. Their eyes were still bright. They were still alive. And they would each grab a leg, one hand towards the heel, one towards the bag of the knee, giving the Flesh and Blood creature a heavy, strong pull to bring him down to the ground.

Hawk was on a roll, one big mistake after another, he failed to make sure his enemies were actually dead and it would cost him. Feeling the peircing claws dig into his of both legs, one at the bag of the knee and the other at his ankle of each limb, brought this to his attention. Tripping forward he fell on his forarms he quickly reacted by flaping his mystical black wingsin attempt to him upwards into air. Meanwhile with his left hand he slashed downwards with his sword towards the head of the robot occupying his left. If he manage to rid himself of that robot zombie he would hack at the head of the other one.

The wings would struggle to gain lift, most likely. The creatures were not exactly light.

Regardless, as he swung down, the blade bit into the head, there was a shower of twisted metal as the impact dented the old brain case, and a frying, smoking spark as the innards of the creature shorted out.

Immediately the creature became dead weight. It was no longer tightening its grip, but neither did it seem to let go. Frozen in place, with no resistance, just like someone had flipped the off switch.

Should the right recieve similiar attention, then it too, would behave the same way.

Leaving sharp metal hands and claws attached to the kid, all the creatures were hanging on by.

They'd pry off easily enough. Though it would be hard to find a safe place to grab onto them without cutting up your hands. Or a way to prevent widening the wounds. Regardless, with almost nothing to threaten you for the time being, it was something that could be done.

As Hawk was healing, another clanking noise sounded. Further down the trail of mutilated creatures, one rose. The last one that Kael and Sam had faced. One that was dumped off the backside, one who had a jaw hanging on just one hinge.

But one that was mostly undamaged as he started shuffling towards Hawk. He was still a good 60 feet off, but he had apparently spotted the bird/angel/demon creature and was making his way towards him, much as the Family had.

"Gimme a ******** break!"
He huffed after hearing the distant sound and looking in the monster's direction. He should have known there was going to be more but with out much hesitation he prepared to attack noting he wouldn't be able to heal himself for the time being. Ignoring the cuts on his hands from prying off the blade-like fingers and disregarding stinging opened woulds on his legs he sized up the devilish 'tin man' and held up his saber slashing downwards vertically. Sitting, Hawk tried to strike at a 70-60 degree angle figuring the head was the creatures weak spot. Left over chaotic solar energy dispersed from the sword cutting through the air towards the moving target. Although the attack was much weaker than the first it should still be effective if it at least burnt through the skull, Hawk hoped.
