I believe I had an interest in Stephen King when I was in my late teens. The first book I read was Pet Sematary. As for meeting him in person, I've never met him, but I would love too! biggrin

Well, I first got into Stephen King after watching the 1990 TV movie "It". As it turned out, I was about 8 or 9 at the time. I read the book, and totally realized that the book was far more superior than the movie, and it began from there. My favorite book of Stephen King is Desperation

I read my first Stephen King book about 6 months ago, Firestarter. I might be a new fan, but I'm already hooked. whee
I've never met him, but I would love to.
I recently finished The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, and loved it. After finishing Firestarter, I raided the local used book stores for more King. xd As a result, I now own the two mentioned above, Everything's Eventual (which I'm about a third of the way through), Pet Sematary, The Shining, and Danse Macabre. In Everything's Eventual, I just started on The Little Sisters of Eluria, which has gotten me interested in the Dark Tower series.

I've just discovered Stephen King I've only read Cell by him but my friend's bringing in a big stack of books for me! I haven't met Stephen King but a friend of my dad's has and he said that he;s a really decent guy but slightly strange in the head, though I suppose he'd have to be considering how he writes...

I can't remember what age I really started getting into Stephen King but I remember seeing IT when I was a kid and it scared the living daylights out of me. I've seen it many times since then and it doesn't bother me at all but nowadays, almost no horror movie bothers me.
I believe the first book I actually read was the story The Langoliers in Four Past Midnight. I saw the movie and totally fell in love with the story. I haven't read even close to all his books yet but my mom is a huge fan of his so I can borrow any I haven't read from her probably. That's how I read the book IT and after doing so, I completely understood why my mom hated the movie. It wasn't even close to being true to the book. I've also read, The Shining which is both my favorite book of his and my favorite movie of his but I like the mini-series version of the movie better which I own on tape. The mini-series version actually follows the book a lot closer than the original with Jack Nicholson(sp?). I've read Salem's Lot and Cell and about half of Desperation.
No, I've never met him but it would be awesome to.
I know I'm writing a lot but I have a lot to say. I actually did a report on him when I was a Junior in high school and found out some interesting information. I borrowed 5 of his movies from the library and I have to admit, I can't stand the movie version of Christine. I haven't read the book so maybe it's better. I also found out that every single one of his books was inspired by a real life experience of his. The Shining for example was an idea that he got when he and his wife went away for a weekend to Colorado. They were the only guests in the whole hotel the entire weekend and he said it was flat-out creepy. There, he got his setting for The Shining and as a matter of fact, the room he stayed in 217 if I remember right, was the inspiration for that room as well and one of the versions of the movie was filmed on location at the exact hotel that inspired the story. I believe it was the mini-series version but I don't remember. That was 6 years ago that I did that report.
Also, something I bet very few people know, I discovered that Stephen King reads Harry Potter. I found a quote by him on the books somewhere. I think it was on one of the hardcover jackets for one of them but I don't remember.
Okay, I'm done rambling now.
