"You can stop giving me that look, I know where late and your not going to get me moving any faster," Miliardo grumbled, all day long Ana had been giving him 'glares' really it was just furrowed brows and a nasty little frown, it was hard after all, to glare when you wore a blindfold all the time.
"You're late in more ways then you know..." she snapped back, it seemed like ages for ten standard years, ten standard years of people taking advantage of her 'blindness' sure she could 'see' through the force all her life but only so much often people would still manage to trip her, humiliate her and other wise make her miserable. "I just want to get this meeting done and go to my room..."
"You will in due time so just calm down." Casually the two made their way down the hall, another figure down the hall continued to move along and turned into a door not far from them. It seemed it was the door to the council chamber. "Well short stuff you're on your own now." He gave her a pat on the back before turning to leave, "Choose wisely, probably the biggest choice you'll make besides coming here."
Once again Anastasia turned shooting a 'glare' but this time it wasn't so much a glare, her lips just couldn't get the smirk and her brows couldn't quite narrow, no it was a look more of fear. She had never left Dantooine in her life, and now here she was on this strange new world at a strange temple. Half tempted to hiss and swear over her sponsors stupidity and another part longing to cry for home she shoved open the door to the chamber, her face as hard and blank as she could muster.

Render's steps upon the cool, pale tile were light; measured in time with his slow exhaling as he approached from the east hallway. It was partially a game, to test his balance and his concentration, but after so many days of "playing" that game, it had become an unconscious part of his travel. Especially when he had other things on his mind, like the Council he approached.
However, the length of the hallway was just short enough to not accommodate one full step to the door, and Render found his distracted head bouncing off of the tall door. The massive portal reverberated and sent the knock echoing back down the hall and almost certainly inside the room as well. Embarrassed and a little shaken, Render quickly, but with a little effort, pulled the door open and stepped in, before anyone could acknowledge his faux pas. Disrespecting the council chamber was just about the last thing any real Jedi would do!

It had already been a few minutes after the passenger ship had taken off, and Poy'loyi'nercathi was still exploring the outer regions of the temple, looking for the council chamber. As much as it was a joy to get off of Ryloth for the time, the ship that Alask'amersu had called the Cazne had just been a glorified freighter, and an old one at that. He seemed to have been trying to give her the impression she was living in luxury.
Regardless she had decided she wanted to arrive at the temple in her very best clothes; in this case a burgandy ceremonial gown, with shawl, dress, tunic and a short cloak. It was in startling contrast to what she was used to, but thanks to Alema’afa, she could arrive properly. A long open split going from waist to near the neck, as Twi'leki tradition, was present, revealing her stomach and navel with a small piercing, up through the center of her breasts, ending at her collarbone. When she first saw the essemble, she could hardly have believed it come from such boring people as the administrators of the place - culturing fungus didn't leave much to the personality after a few years.
Finally, she found the right hallway after asking a nearby droid. Seeing the tall doors, she trodded the long, echoey steps until she reached the door. Deciding it best not to knock, she pressed a firm hand on the door and pushed, sliding in sidewats carefully rather than open the door fully and walking straight.

The masters opened their eyes in unison and stood before the students. Char Langui looked a bit grumpy. Sva-la turned to each new student and smiled.
"Welcome to the temples," she said. "I hope that you did not encounter any difficulty in your travels."
Char Langui muttered something about hurrying it up already.
"I know that you all have had a long journey to arrive here," said Sva-la, "But there is a decision you must make before you may proceed to your dormitories and rest. I am Master Sva-La-Toa, leader of the Jedi order."
"And I'm Master Char Langui," stated the diminutive human by her side. "I lead the Sith order. You four greenhorns need to declare which temple you wish to train with."
"The roles of a Jedi greatly depend on one's ability to work within a group or mediate disputes," explained the Togruta female, "As mediators and keepers of the peace, the traits of leadership, patience, empathy, understanding, loyalty, and perseverance are all wonderful attributes. A Jedi provides stability, order, and structure to the Galaxy."
"And on the other hand," The Sith Master began with a small flourish of his cloak. "The Sith pride themselves on their passion, dedication, drive, energy, and athleticism. A Sith tends to work in smaller groups or individuals and must therefore must practice self-reliance. A great emphasis is placed on lightsaber and battle techniques therefore athletic ability is also desired. If you don't have any questions, you can go ahead and state your intentions." He nodded to the brown-haired boy.
"You first, Wes, is it?" he said.

the young boy recoiled at the old man. Greenhorn? The boy's nose scrunched at the name and he curled his toes in his boots. He didn't quite like the old man and wasn't able to see at his level. Feeling indignant the young child turned to Sva-la who seemed in much higher spirits than the grumpy old man. Master Char Langui's attitude was enough for anyone to choose the Jedi temple over the Sith. But, no. This decision wasn't based on personal opinion but it was based on self. Wes rolled on his heels, eyes staring intently on the Torgruta's colorful appearance and found himself calming. That is... until his name was called.
"Y-yes!" Wes yelped in surprise and response, feeling as if ice water had been poured down his back along with being thoroughly embarrassed. He sniffed and waited for a response and realized that it was his turn to speak. He looked around at the other arrivals and thought of being without them... alone. He shuddered. Patience is something he was in short stock of but people changed, right? He weighed the options of the Sith and something about it just didn't feel right. Wes strived on companionship and had a natural want for peace and leadership. What would his mother think? He shook the thought away and brought hard determined eyes to Master Sva-La, biting his lip as he gazed into her peaceful face.
"I want to become a Jedi." He paused and looked at his hands bringing up some awful memories and then looked up once more with a light and determined smile playing on his features. "It feels right..."

"You sure?" sniffed the old man. "Alright, then, if you insist."
The Togruta master smiled at him. "Welcome to the Jedi Order," she said. "I look forward to training with you."
"Who's next?" asked Char Langui, shifting from foot to foot impatiently. "Which one of you is Anastasia? Time to make up your mind."

Ana tilted her head slightly glancing towards the masters stepping forward a bit frowning as she did so. She hadn't been here at all and already choices were being thrown at her. She hadn't even gotten to savor the idea of being away from her old home and all it's issues.
Though the words spoken gave her all the reason to study that past now. All the taunting, the humiliation, the lack of peace in her life and the failure of negotiation. She looked human but was only Near-human, and those around her when she went to school never let her live that down. "Peace and mediation never worked..." she muttered, "Everyone always singled me out because I wasn't human, I hated going to school because the teachers would scold the other kids, and they still treated me like banta crap..."
She glanced around the room, each person their glowed bright, much like any living creature emiting force to her senses, but each of them gave off something else, a warmth from some, cold from others, and a cold sense from her self, as if some of the force basked in light and others in something... less pure? No, just different in theory. She knew that colder feeling, it wasn't evil, it was just the struggle to survive and grow stronger.
It was strongest from the Sith Master, "I want to be a Sith, I want the power to justify the wrongs against others."

"A wise choice indeed," said the Sith master, nodding approvingly. He looked at the other master briefly. So far, they were even.
Sva-la stepped forward to ask the next student. She smiled at the young human boy in front of her. "Render?" she asked. "Have you made your choice?"

The boy's light blue eyes widened at the mention of his name and snapped from the intricate floorboards to the Master's face.
Had he made his choice? In any time of greatly important personal decisions, doubt must exist to reinforce that one's decision is right. At least, that's what his father had always told him, in less eloquent terms, wiping his grimy hands on a ragged towel on some top level of the mines.
"Render, ye canna be sure until ye've been unsure."
Homesickness flooded him for a split second, but Render breathed slowly, and it quelled again.
He had never been unsure about being a Jedi, though. The ways of the Sith were alien to him, though he had come to understand and appreciate the demarcation between the two disciplines, at least in theory, from the snippets of readings he had had time to do throughout his youth. Would his certainty come back to haunt him? Perhaps this was the doubt required to confirm his choice.
"I w-would like to learn how to be a Jedi, please."

The master smiled reassuringly at the boy. "Welcome to the Jedi temple, then, Render!" She said serenely.
Finally, she turned her attention to the young Twi'lek, the last undecided student. "Poy'loyi'nercathi?" she asked. "What's your choice, little cousin?"

The decision seemed rather natural to Poy'loyi'nercathi, from what the scout spoke to her of the Force. Sith, Jedi, dark, light. It all seemed like night and day. Poy'loyi spoke softly at first, so much that one would have to strain to hear her in the beginning. Confidence was one thing; courage to show it was another. She knew she must try, though. "On Ryloth, our life is lived in the shadow. It is the blanket that surrounds us, protects us from the light. Light provides clarity, but it is also ch'sei, to be avoided. To stay with the lessons of the doneeta of every clan, I choose the dark side, to be safe. I will not be chi'kan to my race. Bou'omao, bou'hada, bou'ikha." And with that, she was done.
Well, that may have been even better than she had rehearsed it on the flight!

"Well reasoned," nodded Sva-la, serenely impartial. She focused once again on all four students. "You may now proceed to your dormitories," she explained. "From here, a left down the corridor will take you to the Sith temple, and a right will take you to the Jedi temple."
"You'd better get friendly on the way," added the diminutive Sith master. "You'll be rooming together."
"You will find uniforms in your rooms, and your personal possessions have been moved from the landing bay to the dormitories already," explained Sva-la, "Though you'll have to unpack. Once you have received your uniform, some form of it is to be worn at all times when you are outside of your room. You are dismissed."
"There are droids waiting to show you the way," said Char Langui with a bit of a smirk. "If they haven't gotten lost again."

"Way to go, Zain! Went to go look at one little thing and you get left behind," the Zeltron boy mumbled as he slowly walked his lonesome way down the hall. He had thought his little detour would take an extra second or two, but- Bah, his mother had always told him it that curiosity was a virtue! Hopefully the masters would have the same opinion as his mother. Or even better, maybe they wouldn't even notice he was late at all! He could just slip in, all subtle like. Yeah, that was a good idea.
Finally, after what seemed like five hours or even more, Zain reached his destination. Looking upwards at the tall doors, he placed a hand on one of them and pushed slightly. It made a horrifying creak. He pressed his face to the slit that the slightly open door had made, peeking in. He couldn't see too much. Or anything, really. Sighing, he leaned back a ways from the door and pushed harder, opening it enough to allow him to enter.
No one noticed, right?

Master Sva-la sat in her chair, regarding a datapad. Master Langui stood by the window, regarding the courtyard below. He did not need to turn around to know who had entered the room, and that they were several hours behind the rest of the day's arrivals.
"You're late," said the diminutive Sith master, looking at the boy.
"Better late than never," sympathized the Togruta master. "You must be Zain. Are you ready to declare your path of study?"

Zain felt horribly stupid. Of course they noticed! He was the only one in here! How long had he spent looking at that...thing? He didn't even know what it was and it had probably just ruined his chances of ever becoming a Jedi! Or a Sith, but by the way the master was looking at him, his chances didn't look too good for that side, either.
"I stopped to look at something. I didn't think I had taken that long, but they were all gone! So I had to find the way here by myself. M'sorry," he said as something of an explanation to the Sith Master, his eyes facing the floor.
He looked up at the Jedi Master as she spoke. "Yes, I think I'm ready. I want to become a Jedi because-" he paused here, thinking momentarily. He doubted "because he hates me" would be a valid reason to not want to become a Sith. Truthfully, he didn't really know why he wanted to become a Jedi. He just did. "Because I do," he then said, nodding and smiling at the Togruta. Way to go again, Zain. Arriving late and having a shoddy reason for becoming a Jedi. Oh well.
