yeah.. reason i figured him a sergeant:
captains lead companies... you'd be more administrative. squads are led by sergeants, and that's essentially what we are.
however, in the special forces heirarchy, squads have 4 soldiers usually, and next highest is troop with 20, as you said. a platoon leader leads 36 troops and is a lietutenant; Zeta's only a Lieut cause he's a doc.
i think it's more likely copy's a lieutenant myself... and agree with Nelo, being a captain is a tad high.
besides, it'll be more interesting if zeta and copy are both the same rank... it'll leave room for 'rankling' in the 'ranks'!!

Nelowulf Zeke Ren W00t!Psi's snapped!And planning a maniacle plot to slaughter the commander! If Theta and Psi could stand each other, they might actually hurt someone... namely sarge... You know, them foiling each other's plans to assassinate the sarge would be interesting.. Yes.Except the variation in their plans,Psi would probably shoot the captain in the back or turn the LAAT so he falls to his death.While Theta might like....go into a 'Slasher flick' mode with the Fusion Cutter and get him when he's not lookin'.

weather prediction. damn usefull. and don't expect Copy to act too suspicious. with the troops he'll be pretty straight forward.
Psi'sactions are gonna cost the team dearly. I plan on making the captain as indispensable to the unit as possible.
just like his view with the republic.

But what if the LAAT crashes uuh...magicly.And crushed Copy..uh...magicly...and then while he was struggling to pull himself out from under Psi uh...cut out Copy's intstine and used them as a necklace?Then uh...the body disappeared...magicly.

Pilots could be considered captains automatically in our standard Air force. But In the SW universe, them being captain is a tad high as well, since they may hold the rank of captain in the cockpit, but on ground, i don't think they really did that much commanding.
Though technically, a pilot would probably rank the same as the medic and the captian. 3 way trouble....

Copy just wants to make sure there are no questions who's in command. confuision in that department leads to death for everyone.
Not to say he won't take suggestions. He's just the one in charge and he wants his troops to know that.
Soldiers are more likely to follow a strong leader than a weak one.

That's a well proven fact for sure.But I've watched alot of movies where the tough leader is killed by the hero,badguy,psyco,the lone sniper badass,explosion from enemy bombers,mis-fire,torso impailment(Oh,my favortie by far),decapitation,and suffacation.

True,I think it's easy to say that the leader (unless it's your generic hero) is pretty much ******** regardless of method he might find himself in friendly fire.But if it was anything like the 'big movies' there is always a scene where the hero gets some before the big battle.If that where the case then Iota would be getting gang raped by the entire group.But that's a disturbing thought so I'm gonna not think on that.
