Once Benjamin was finished with his homework, he pulled out his laptop and easily logged on to the school's internet. He pulled up his AIM chats, and found that quite a few of his friends from his school in Spain were online. He smiled a little. Admittedly, he'd been very reluctant to leave school only a month into the year, and he hadn't been very happy to be going to boarding school with no funding in the middle of nowhere. In fact, he still wasn't very happy. So it comforted him that he had his old friends.

Icarus was sitting in the library, soon going to sleep in a back corner. She slept quietly for a while before being pulled back into her nightmares. She cringed and squirmed, groaning and whining as she was once again tortured.

Finally, Benjamin managed to pull himself away from the world of talking to old friends. His best friend had brought him up to date with everything he'd missed in the weekend, and his head was starting to hurt. Closing his laptop, he sat up and reached for the lineage book again, flipping through it aimlessly. What made him scratch his head was that it ended in an odd place... And there were no dates or ages for anyone in it, so he had to make assumptions. For example, he assumed that since the two big honcho demons (Luke and Lunora) were siblings that their kids grew up together. He wondered to himself why their lineages kind of cut off, though. Then he got to a page that explained about the conflicts with the nearby humans. After reading it, he understood why: "It was a tragic event the day the school at Mesilici ended. They were having an event, one of their famous masked balls, when the nearby humans became enraged and stormed the castle, leaving no one alive." It went on to explain a little more, but Benjamin shut the book sadly, not wanting to read on. He'd almost grown attached to some of the people after reading their little biographies.

Icarus was still trapped in her dreams. Soon the librarian called the head nurse and any assistants they had. Once there, they moved the girl to the infirmary, trying to wake her up. Alas nothing was working. All they could do was strap her into the bed so her tossing didn't injure her or others, and let her ride the nightmares out.

Benjamin sighed and wondered to himself what Icarus was doing, just when a knock came on his door. He walked over and opened it to find the girl from the medical wing. "Come with me," she said, shaking her head and leading him down to the infirmary again. Benjamin frowned seeing Icarus having a nightmare. "What happened?" "Still having nightmares."

Icarus still writhed and tossed as much as she could, still being restrained to ward off injury. An assistant occasionally came over and gently dabbed the sweat from her face. The girl just groaned and whimpered in her sleep as the bad visions continued to swirl in her head.

Finally, Benjamin had an idea. A possibly ridiculous one, but one nonetheless. He whispered to the girl, "Find a raven pendant and take it away from her." The girl did just that, finding the pendant and bringing it over to Benjamin.

Once the pendant left her person, Icarus started to calm down. The assistants were surprised to see the girl calming and they undid the restraints and pulling a blanket over her to let her rest in peace for a while.

Benjamin clenched the pendant in his hand and turned towards the assistant. "She should be fine. You can let her go to her room when she wakes up," he said, pocketing the pendant and heading back to his room to ponder why the pendant was making a difference.

Icarus rested quietly for a while until she finally woke up. The assistant helped her out of bed and directed her to rest and take tomorrow off to regain sleep. The girl nodded and left, but going to the garage instead. She then sat in the sidecar, careful not to squish the dragons. She yawned a little and thought some.

When Icarus was sent to bed, a message was sent to Benjamin telling him that she'd been released. He had a feeling she didn't go to bed, though, so he headed down to the garage. Sure enough, there she was. "You're missing this," he said, swinging the raven pendant on its chain as he approached Icarus.

Icarus looked up when she heard the Spaniard. She gasped a little, seeing him have her pendant. "Hey! Give it back!" she growled, lunging for it. That was her little treasure!!

Benjamin retracted the pendant and held out his arm to stop Icarus. "You do realize that as soon as we took this from you, you stopped having nightmares? You were perfectly calm, completely fine. There's something wrong with this thing."

Icarus growled a little, still trying to grab at it. "Well maybe it has something to do with that Shiro person in that book. You said he was a death god or some bologna. Now give back that pendant, Spain!"

Benjamin continued to back away, holding the pendant behind his back. "No! They had to strap you down to the bed to keep you from hurting yourself! Whatever this thing is, it's bad for you!"
