Tali stood up, sticking his tounge out quickly before offering Nikiana a hand up. "You're turn now."

Niki took the offered hand and got up, glancing over at the man and woman. Some of the other groups were just getting started, so Niki shrugged. Again, she supposed.

Well, she'd probably better show a different attack. How about... a kick? Yes, a kick this time. She liked that attack, too.

Parmida caught the dark tone of her fighting partner and hesitated. She wasn't sure if that sound meant they had already been tested and deemed colorless, or if they simply hadn't been tested yet. She did a mental shrug and decided she might as well show how bad her kicks were. She took aim and lashed out with one foot, taking care not to land on her tush in the process.

A smile bloomed on Xenres' face as the older matron came in. Supper! He was quick to pick up his homework and toddle over to the matron.

The teens moved thorugh their paces like well trained dogs moving through hoops. More or less.. Tali nearly fell over during his kick at the least. Finally the teens were dismissed, allowed to go where they wished.

Niki sighed as the group was dismissed. She was starting to hurt a bit. Even though Tali had taken it easy on her and she on him, the two had still hit the floor several times. And the floor wasn't taking it easy on them.

So they couldn't tell anyone? Well, that made sense. No one else ever talked about the testing process. Oh well.

Parmida nearly collapsed with relief. They could go now? She thought about how she did, and internally winced. Her kicks were horrible (even if she did manage to keep her balance each time) and her punches could still use work. She sighed, hoping that elementals did other things beyond fight. Everyone else seemed to do better then her. Even Selma, who once thought she could become colorless... That was a sobering thought. One she actually never gave herself time to think about. What if she would become colorless? It was enough to make her pause where she was. Considering how everyone did... Yes. If anyone would be colorless, it would likely be her. Of course, she tried to reason with herself, perhaps no one would become colorless. Yes, no one would be colorless and they would all leave Nanedin and go to the elemental cities... She had to believe that. She had to. And she couldn't talk to anyone about it. She pressed her lips together tightly and walked to her room to think about it some more.

It was that time again. No, not testing time or even a festival. Nope. It was time for another first day of toddler class. The same poor old man was still teaching the toddler group and was close to pulling his hair out. He was simply running out of ideas to keep the little kids' attentions. They were too easily distracted.

Maybe a game of sorts? Games seemed to keep their attention longer. Well, admittedly not by much, but he'd take just about anything. The man rummaged about on the shelves. Oh, this could work. He'd found a stack of animal pictures. With a smile, the man went about setting up the game.

When the Matrons brought the toddlers in, the animals had been placed in spots on the ground all around the classroom.

"Won't this be fun little one?" the Matron murmered to her charge, carrying him securely across the grounds. "Your first day of class. You'll finally get to meet other toddlers, maybe make some new friends?" the Matron added, almost pleadingly. She'd never had such a quiet child before, and she wasn't sure what to expect when he started interacting with others his own age.
Colt was oblivious, or perhaps uncaring of his Matron's worries. He stared at his surroundings with a half-lidded curiosity, his thumb moving determinedly to his mouth no matter how many times his Matron pulled it away. They arrived at the classroom finally, and Colt was pulled from whatever his toddler thoughts may have been when the Matron set him down carefully on the floor, muttered a quick "good luck" in his ear, and-much to his surprise and dismay-left him alone with the teacher and the strange...things all around.

The doorway was shaded with two forms, one small, one large. "Here we are!" the Matron crowed, scooting Midori inwards. The little girl blinked at the room. "Take a seat on one of the circles dear. I'll be back soon."

Obediently Midori shuffled into the room taking a seat on one of the circles. Curiously she looked between her crossed legs, grinning at the animal pasted there. Looking back up she glanced around the room, gaze landing on one of the other toddlers. Happily she dug around in her pockets and took out a half-wilted red flower. Scooting over to him she offered the flower.

Another Matron entered the room, with Sarita and Zo in her arms. Sarita had managed to content herself with pulling on one of Zo's bunny ears, which had caused for Zo to start bawling. This had stopped when the matron had pried the other girl's hand off of the bunny child's ear.

With a sigh, the Matron place Sarita on the ground and gently pushed her forward. "Go sit in the circle with the others. And be nice. No ear or hair pulling." The scolding had been done with a little finger waving. The matron then stayed back a bit, still holding Zo and cooing at her.

After spending a few moments more holding the bunny child, the Matron smiled and gave the toddler a light pat on the head. Then she placed her on the ground, and wasn't surprised that the child immediately latched onto her leg. "Don't worry, I'll be around... Now go sit with them. You'll be all right."

After a few gentle nudges, Zo reluctantly made her way to sit next to Midori and across from Sarita. She eyed the other toddlers with caution.

In came another Matron with a very... reluctant child. Reluctant was putting it nicely. The boy was downright refusing to budge. He squirmed when being carried and dug his feet in when forced to walk. So his Matron was reduced to carrying him around the waist, belly down, and at her side. Less damage from his flailing hands and feet and they made better time than dragging him along. Now, Aiko was not making a single sound. He was just lashing out with all of his limbs.

Sighing with relief upon arrival, the Matron heaved the still-struggling boy through the door (the other Matrons quickly moved to avoid any flying limbs) and set him on the floor. "Now, behave, 026. You've got to go to class."

The male stared up at his Matron, as if daring her to leave him here. The woman sighed and turned, muttering something about how her other child had been much easier as she left the room.

026 didn't move a muscle, other than turning his glare towards the teacher, as if saying 'Get this over with already so I can leave'.

Colt was busy peering at the room with an air of deep suspicion when the cheerful girl suddenly slid over and held out a flower. He turned in surprise when he realized she was there and stared for a moment, not sure what she wanted. Then, a little hesitantly, he reached out and took the nearly wilted thing. The boy looked at it closely for a moment, then glanced over at the girl again, confused. What was he supposed to do with it?

Midori clapped her hand cheerfully when the boy took her flower. Another friend! Another little girl suddenly sat down on her other side. The toddler twisted a little smiling. Too bad she was out of flowers. Then...she noticed the ears.

"Hop hop!" She cried gleefully pointing at Zo's ears. Hop hop's were fun!! They went up and down and up and down and up.. She clapped her hands together again happily. She needed to find a special flower for Hop hop.

The teacher sighed as a whole herd of toddlers entered the room. Okay, five toddlers weren't quite a herd, but they were fairly close. Maybe a flock of chickens? Toddlers were a lot like chickens... (Inside joke!! XD)

Anyways, the man decided to start getting some kind of order among the group. Some had sat down, one was giving out flowers to everyone, and one was... glaring at him? Joy. This class sounded like so much fun...

The man clapped his hands to gather the toddlers' attention. "Today, we're going to learn about animals." He told them, pointing to the pictures on the ground. "Now, everyone stand together here in the middle..."

And the next few minutes were spent trying to herd the toddlers into the center of the circle...

"Hop hop?" Zo seemed to wonder out loud. Of course, there was little time for her to decide whether this was something to cry about or smile about. She was quickly herded into the middle of the circle with ease.

Sarita, on the other hand, was not quite as cooperative. After having been ordered by her matron to not pick on the bunny child, she seemed to have found another way to cause trouble.

Rather than stand in the middle, she chose to toddle around as far away as possible from the indicated spot. In fact, whenever she was chased into the center, she'd wait until the other matrons were busy handling another toddler and then run out of the circle once again.

After the second time, her matron had been brought in to hover over Sarita, until the toddler had realized that the time for the 'chasing' game had passed.
