A plume of smoke falling from his lips the Fledgling cocked a brow at the display within the mansion. Darkness consuming all around him it was hardly something he unfamiliar with, though rarely did it mean cake and hookers were waiting.

Turning his eye on the path set out for him, he didn't give it any thought, simply proceeded on through the doors to what ever awaited him.

"The geezer don't like me being what I am. That much is clear, he's a lot like the old man."

"I don't like what you are either. Does that help?"

There was a chuckle in the voice. Interest too. He'd followed the obvious path without question. Either out of a lack of imagination (which she doubted) or some sense of security she'd not expected him to feel here yet, if ever. Strange, yet welcome.

For Corbin it would soon become evident the path he walked wasn't necessarily quite as real as it ought to be.
Things moved in the shadows, monstrous things that didn't belong in any place where laws such as physics and gravity applied. But nothing came close, or paid him any heed.

Various senses would work as usual however, giving an indication the pathway was headed underground, more of a tunnel than a corridor.
Eventually, it opened out into a circular area, with multiple doors leading off it. Something smelled like wet dog.
And the darkness cleared, revealing Roan leaning against the wall by the farthest door, smoking casually, with a deep gash down her left arm.

"I like what you will be though. I have a present for you."

"Tch. Don't want me finding my way back 'ere?"

Or was it actually not there to begin with. It looked a lot like something he'd seen before, this pathway. A void outside of space linking one with another. Shadow voodoo.

He examined the monsters he saw with keen interest, though without stopping, and before long was before the selection of doors, and Roan.

Taking notice of the smell, and her injury, he smirked.

"Yep, sure aint cake. So what I getting? Some mutt to introduce a newspaper to?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 12:32 pm

"Heh, if I didn't want you coming down here, I'd never have let you in to start with. I'm not stupid enough not to recognise a stubborn brat who pokes his nose where it doesn't belong when I see one. No, you'll NEED this place. The cells closest to the tunnel hold criminals with death sentences. which is to say... lunch.

As to the latter, quite right. I figured you could use a pet to keep you occupied and to practice your skills on with a living response. The TR isn't perfect yet, and the droids don't really feel pain. Jan's working on it, but it won't hurt you to have my age old enemy to practice on.

I sincerely HATE werewolves."

The scowl as she spoke the last was telling. Clearly, some kind of history with the creatures. It became obvious then that the shadow play had been for the benefit of dealing with their 'guest' rather than detracting Corbin from the end goal. Which wasn't to say there weren't secrets being kept from him yet, but apparently this area wasn't one of them.

"Tell me what you know of the pathetic beasts."

He wore the title of stubborn like a badge of honor, his smirk turning broader as he listened. Casting an eye to the first cell he made a mental note. Something told him he'd require the services of one such individual or two from within shortly.

He then looked to regard the last cell. After his minor row in town on the way back the prospect of another fight with something a little more capable had his spirits in more honest heights.

"Werewolves? Primitive bastards, rely on voodoo from the world around them to do their tricks, right? I've never really encountered one worth note though."

"According to them, their gifts come from some kind of earth goddess or some such, and the moon certainly comes into it, though not as it does in books. Then again, we don't work like books think we should, so that's expected.

Like all things, they're more complicated than they appear. Close knit communities, some have gone corrupt due to a warped deity they call the wyrm. Many of the dumb idiots believe we work for this serpentine thing, or some such. As ever, I take what I hear with a pinch of salt, considering what is known had to be tortured out slowly.

Generally, picking on the young seems to be the best way of getting information, while ensuring you wont have vengeful teenage wolf-men to deal with 15 years later."

A howl of angry and pained protest erupted from the cell behind her, causing her to chuckle as she tapped ash off her smoke.

"This one is a local pack leader. Not the strongest Garou you'll meet, but he should provide some fun for as long as you can keep yourself from breaking him.

Find out where the rest of his pack are. Beyond that do as you will."

Strolling over he unsnapped his shoulder holster and dropped it on the floor. No need for a gun in this instance. If someone threatened HIM with a gun, he'd likely laugh it off so the same principle applied. He already had a MUCH better idea in mind for this foul smelling bugger.

Rolling his shoulders back and tipping his neck from one side to the other for a succession of snap, crackle and pop he'd exhale once more an impressive plume of smoke, before entering, thumbs tucked under his belt either side of his buckle in typical fashion.

His eye instantly searching for the Garou within, knowing he'd most likely be loose for the purpose of this exercise.

"Oi, Benji!"

Standing aside, Roan didn't initially leave the area, but did not follow her protogé within.
A small smile decorated her lips at his quip towards the beast, which roared in response to the slight.

"Basenji would be better, have fun."

When Corbin first entered, the beast would be restrained, though only by more of the unnatural darkness swarming around it. As soon as the door closed however, the darkness dissipated and the creature, half man half wolf, skittered back with powerful claws into the natural shadows, from whence only the glower of blood red eyes came.
Where its claws had scrabbled at the stone, deep rents had been scoured in, not to mention the feeling of being in the presence of a predator that seeped throughout the room, more earthy and ever present than that Roan was want to exude.

Sensibly, the creature did NOT attack instantly, but observed its newest tormenter, snarling softly as the stink of undead filled its nostrils.

Casting his glance over his shoulder at the closing door, he snorted in ********' Fido for all I care."

He then glanced back to scan and find the Garou lurking, eyes in the natural darkness of the room. This, he could deal with, natural darkness was his lair as much that of the beast.

"Alright you probably heard all that chatter outside. What say you be agood boy and tell me where the rest of your pack is so I can get to some real work? There's a biscuit in it fer good little furries."

Moving to the center of the room, another plume of smoke rose from his lips, as his posture went unchanged, eye following the wolf, like an eagle surveying it's territory.

Again, just a snarl in answer. Followed by a swift, sudden attack. The Garou was a pack leader, which required some degree of combat expertise to get to that position.
Hence, he didn't waste time talking, and didn't telegraph his moves in any way whatsoever. A mere blink of the eyes came before the explosive dart forwards, 7ft of sheer muscle and savage power moving fluidly out of the shadows like a shark rising beneath a seal, with the sole intent of entering Corbin's immediate vicinity to lay hands on the kid.

Hands the size of frying pans, tipped with long rending claws which had already shown their ability to carve into stone. Only now would the boy get a response. A single, growled out word that sounded like a mammoth stomping the ground.

"No."

Grinning at the response of the Garou Corbin was more prepared than he seemed. This beast however was leagues above the rabble he'd faced not long ago in town and so he couldn't afford to pay his threat as little attention.

As the brute closed in, a key feature of Corbin's anatomy changed drastically and as suddenly as the charge came. A scarlet gleam rolled over his eye and after passing over the sclera, left in it's wake a reptilian slit pupil that pierced with a powerfully predatory glare.

Close combat worked well enough for him and he'd embrace it with a quick step in utilizing potence rather than celerity for the sharp and short dash to come inside the reach of the approaching claws, then transfered the full weight and potence with a rotation in his hips to connect with an uppercut with the left hand, rather than the right so as to continue glaring at the wolf with his reptilian eye.

Hopefully it'd connect with enough force to lift the brute off the ground, and back far enough that he'd have to close in again to reach.

Strangely, the wolf didn't seem to even try to avoid the blow. Perhaps he wasn't quick enough. Perhaps he was a big dumb beast... or perhaps there was a REASON why he only curled over the punch, briefly raking his grasp down the offending arm as he was then thrown back, further than a creature his size should have been by such a small opponent. The joys of potence.

Two things occurred. One... Corbin was about to find the joys of potence ebbing away, without his consent. But secondly, the unknowing beast had stared into that reptilian gaze, albeit briefly before being thrown back.
It rose slowly, shaking its head with a softer snarl, likely bruised after the hard fall to the cement floor, as he had given over any semblance of defence to making sure he made contact with Corbin himself.

Now, the beast prowled around the Kindred fledgling, taking his time once more.

That wasn't right. Fast as he was, and powerful t'boot. something was definitively wrong with the way that fuzzy bugger simple took the hit, even making it more powerful by curling into it like that.

He then recalled Roan standing outside, a gash on her arm. Something like that should normally be healed with relative ease. This guy was playing at something and Roan had offered evidence to the fact. If it was something that effected blood however he'd soon know for certain, as it'd no doubt irk the being within, and cause a reaction in the virus contained in that arm on the shoulder and bicep.

For now though, he reveled in his opponent, and his chosen tactics.

"Looks like we had the same idea."

He had stricken out with some voodoo and was now waiting, calculating in the shadows. Corbin was doing much the same, acting in a less eagle like manner in fact now, but rather, a snake.

Stood in the center of the room, body at ease and held at close range with himself like a coiled serpent, waiting to strike as he watched with that chimestry covered slit pupil eye, the colour in it speckled like sand just as in a snake.

He decided to push the test a little further now, as he waited simultaneously for signs of the Garou's voodoo. Raising his right hand, some of the blood from the Glass Walker still stuck to his digits he removed his eye patch, and grinned madly, a forked tongue lashing out to pull his smoke in to devour.

He then stood coiled and ready, maintaining eye contact with the wolf, forked tongue flicking periodically with a subtle hiss. Unaware that the Glass walker blood, just might aid his ploy of adopting 'wyrm like traits'... Or close as he imagined they would be.

A wolf like snout wasn't really made for a smile, but nevertheless, the creature appeared to be grinning as it kept its distance. It didn't speak. Didn't let anything on. Never mentioned to the horrendously tainted thing in front of it that a single touch was all it needed to unleash one of the most potent of gifts his tribe had available.

Truly, Magra would be gnashing in frustration within moments as access to the innate blood pool Kindred all built up seemed to be hampered, and blocked. It was unclear as to exactly how though, likely to cause even the deity some pause to repair and undo. It wasn't permanent though, far from it. The beast knew it had but a short time in which to act, even without there being a persistent deity of the blood involved.

Thus, when Corbin made himself even MORE abhorrent to the Garou, it had no issue with attacking him full force. As he again attacked out of the shadows with the unnatural speed of all monsters of Gaia, it made good use of the extra kick the continent seemed to give all supernaturals to boost up what was normally a passive ability around fire to an offensive one.
Flames flickered about it like an aura as it launched a flurry of strikes at the fledgling, knowing all to well that its ancestral enemy was not a lover of fire.

"There is nothing similar about us, leech. Burn."

Narrowing his eyes as the path to burn blood in exchange for his disciplines became a strain, Corbin snarled, though the grin remained. In a way this made things more interesting.

Without his fortitude however those claws would become an issue, along with the fire.

Distance was his best chance, till the irate deity within could rebuild the bonds in his blood to discipline path.

That's precisely why, Corbin instead anchored his feet and stood his ground. Damned if this fur f** was going to push him back, he'd just have to draw on something else in the meantime. Put this b*****d in his place.

As the first clawed punch/slash came his way, the Fledgling would drop his body weight and weave around it. Being smaller gave him this advantage, and this guy was much slower and resonating than Take. He could do this.

Drawing the gunblade from behind his hip, he'd move in a very serpentine fashion, ducking and rolling under and around the strikes, snarling at the flames as they licked at his clothing. Blade following his every movement subtly in an attempt to cut away at the Garou's thighs.
