Soon Icarus tired of messing with her bike. She went up to her room and got her wallet that was fool of the jock money she had lifted. She then relocked her room and headed out the front door. Icarus headed into town and bought some gas and a gas can. After a bits he was back at school, fueling up her bike. She'd prefer not to stay here. She had thought maybe... someone had taken her in, adopted her. But this was just a ploy by the courts to keep her in line and out of trouble. She growled a little to herself, but concentrated on the gas, soon stopping once the tank was full. She plugged the can back up and put it in the side car before heading up to her room. If no one wanted her here besides Benjamin, then she was out of here.

There was a knock on the garage door, and the principal entered. "Going somewhere?" he asked, coming to lean against the vintage VW Beetle next to Icarus' Vespa.

Icarus looked to the principal when he entered and leaned on the vintage vehicle. But she only glared and huffed. "Yeah. Out of here. Don't want to be bogging down those statistics you academic types love so much." she said rather sharply.

The principal just sighed and shrugged. "Well, sadly, I can't stop you. I guess I lost. I'll have to go tell him that he was right; you'd never stay here." The principal pushed off of the car and turned towards the garage door, heading back inside. But slowly.

Icarus stopped and looked to the principal before vaulting over her bike and grabbing his arm. "Wait! Who are you talking about?! Who's him?!" she demanded. Who wanted her to stay? Hopefully just not that one Spaniard. Someone who really wanted her there.

The principal smiled, knowing he had her hooked as he removed his arm from her grasp. "I'm sure you'll hear from him. There's no post on Sundays, of course, but tomorrow I do believe a letter will come in the mail. That is, if you want to stick around that long." With that, the principal left the room, seemingly disappearing.

Icarus stood there, wondering what he meant. But she'd have to wait to see just who wanted her to stay here. She went back to her bike and sat on it, thinking. Soon she left the garage and went up to her room and looked out the window, wondering who was watching her.

Benjamin, meanwhile, was writing his first letter home to his parents, telling them that he'd made a whole group of new friends on the soccer team he'd managed to catch the try outs for. He said that there was even a girl he liked, making her the complete opposite of Icarus, and describing them as meeting in the gardens rather than the stuffy upper floors of the castle. Essentially, he lied about everything, like he always did, before sealing the letter. There was a mail call that afternoon for everything to be sent.

Icarus was impatiently sitting by the desk, trying to get answers out of the clerk, such as mail times and other things. Of course she was getting nowhere as the man was ignoring her. So she was sitting there, impatiently tapping her foot. She was going to sit there until the letter came.

Finally, the clerk looked up at Icarus and rolled his eyes. "Look, kid, mail call isn't until this afternoon, and nothing comes in until tomorrow afternoon. Beat it."

The girl growled some and stormed off. Fine. She'd wait elsewhere. So she went to a bench in one of the halls near the mail desk and sat there. Eventually the lack of sleep began to catch up to her. Before she knew it, she was curled up on the bench asleep.

Finally, when mail call came, Benjamin handed over his letter and sighed, flopping back on his bed. He wondered if his parents would buy his bogus story. Still, it was always worth a shot. Probably his father wouldn't even have time to read the letter, and his mother would drink until the letter was believable.

Icarus remained passed out on the bench, snoozing. She had laid one arm over her eyes to hide the light as she slept, having taken her goggles off. She dreams of birds again. Doves, pigeons, and so many others carrying little envelopes with her name on them. All of them were for her. And she felt... loved.

After a while, Benjamin decided to wander the castle, so he stuck his dorm key in his pocket and grabbed his map, stuffing it in his pocket, too, just in case. He found the student lounge--dominated by jocks and preppies--, the various club head quarters, and eventually found himself in the office again. Where Icarus was asleep on a bench. She looked peaceful, so he just leaned against the wall, waiting for her to wake up.

After a bit, the girl woke, groaning some. She sat up a little only to find a certain Spaniard lurking about. "Were you standing there, waiting for me to wake up, Spain?" she asked, rubbing her eyes a little.
