Bornes looked dumbly to Isiah, and then dumbly to the can, as if it had talked to him in a foreign language.
Before he regained his senses, Isiah had gotten up with the bag and had begun to walk off. Bornes had to jog up to meet with Isiah, and soon they were back in their small excuse for a home.
Bornes looked around for the knife, finding it on a box that served as a chair, and stole it, eager to satiate his hunger. He flipped the switchblade open and began to stick it in the can, taking no care to Isiah's personal space or things, as he was too busy focusing on first, not eating, and second, not drooling.

Isiah grumbled inwardly as he dug in, but couldn't blame him. He felt about the same right about then. He fumbled through the bag in the dark, until he found a square can with a handle to it's lid, pulling the lid off to the pungent aroma of spam.
He ate in near silence, glad for the darkness that separated them for now. It made things easier, as if he was imagining he was alone.

Bornes' tail had already begun to wag like an eager dog's, and now moreso as the can was opened, and without hesitation, he put the can to his lips and 'drank' the corn, savoring every second of it.
When he was done with the can, he licked his lips, then put his fingers to them to make sure he had gotten everything. He later walked outside and placed the can quietly near the door.
Once he walked back in he dug around in the duffel bag again. He knew they were rationing food and he shouldn't help himself to seconds, but the guilt did not pass his mind as he hunted for something else.

Isiah ate quietly, watching as Q went through the bag for another helping. At least it opened the door for his doing the same.. but...
"Slow down," he mumbled, between bites. "You'll choke."

Bornes stopped his digging, relaxing and turning to Isiah in the now complete darkness. His guilt decided to present itself at that very moment. He cursed inwardly as he leaned backward on his heels, his tail wag finally slowing to a stop.
"Sorry," he mumbled. "I will just wait until tomorrow. We should make this last anyway."
Silence.
He broke it, eyebrows creasing in sympathy. "You're blind, aren't you?"

Isiah grumbled quietly to himself about not having to say anything but answered at long last. "I can't see too well in this darkness, so, I guess you could say I am, yes," he mumbled. "But no more blind than you are in the day time."

Bornes frowned, readjusting himself to sit on his posterior. "Inside I am like that, yes. But outside during the day, even with the sunglasses, I am completely blind. All I see is white." He turned to the cot with a sigh, then reached over and laid the knife on Isiah's thigh.
"I used to be able to see outside," he reminisced. "the fallout must've done something to the sky." Or my eyes got worse, he thought to himself. His eyes probably got worse. But he didn't want to worry himself over silly health problems. He'd blame it on the bomb.

Isiah took the knife carefully and put it back into it's sheath, sighing. "It did get a lot brighter," he admitted. With his light eyes, it almost hurt to walk all that way with Q unless he squinted a good part of the time.

"Good to know that my eyes aren't failing then," he said softly.
His stomach still groaned in anticipation of more food, but Bornes dismissed it in favor of getting up and plopping himself down on the cot, one leg off the frame and one on, his arms outstretched and his tail carelessly to the side of him.
He let out a loud yawn. He wasn't that tired but he knew there would be absolutely nothing to do until tomorrow, so he may as well sleep everything off.
"Unless Isiah wants the cot?" he thought aloud.

"You can have it," he said quickly. "You know, I'm not all that tired anyway..." He lay on his back, folding his arms behind his head before summarily starting situps. It was effortless- or at least, the first fifty would be.

Bornes would've quipped back with a 'well niether am I' but Isiah had already begun to do situps at that point.
Bornes pretended not to care and centered himself on the bed, placing his hands behind his head and stretching his legs out, which were too long. His boots stuck off the end. He held them there for a few moments before bending his knees and looking over toward Isiah again.
It felt weird to watch him work out-- as if the hybrid were invading Isiah's personal space. Although he did stare for a while, studying the way Isiah's muscles moved and listening to the man's breathing, he managed to pull his gaze away later and turn his back to the other.
Bornes, again, tried to sleep like a normal person on his side, but, again, was foiled by sheer habit, and wound up curling into his all-too-familiar ball and eventually falling asleep that way.
The cot was by no means a luxury, but it was much more comfortable than the ground was, and for that he wondered why he had not taken the thing sooner.

Isiah continued until he hit two hundred, surprised and not too happy about the amount of effort it took to get there. He lay down at long last, eyes rolling shut, falling into easy sleep on the floor beneath Q.

They slept all through the rest of the night and most of the day. In the late afternoon Tsurai came by with an open container. He didn't have any hands free, so as per the characteristics of Tsurai, simply walked in on Isiah and Bornes.
"Good afternoon!" he shouted, the discolored water sloshing about in the container between his hands.
Bornes turned over on the cot. "eh?" he squinted his eyes and quickly put on his sunglasses at the light, although it was dim, and sat up.
"Kaegan sent me to give you this," he held out the container with some sort of pride, as if it was something amazing. That's when Bornes finally smelled it.
"Alcohol? Why?" Bornes asked.
"Inauguration gift for Isiah and you." He took a step forward, the container at arm's length. "It's gin!"

Isiah sat up with a grumble, half away, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes one handed. "Gin...?" He opened his hand to take the container, looking down at the faintly blue-green colored liquid. He paused for maybe a second before turning a corner toward him, taking a quick sip, squinting and coughing. "Yup!" he managed through a thick, hoarse voice. "Gin!"
He coughed again, putting the container down, digging through the duffel to cover it with his jacket. "Where'd you find this?"

Bornes quirked a brow, watching Isiah drink it. Bornes couldn't remember ever drinking Gin before... He kept to his Scotch and sometimes Whiskey...
He looked back toward Tsurai, who answered the question pretty proudly, "Kaegan and I made it! It's really good, you should try it, werewolf!"
Bornes arched his back, sucking in a breath through his mouth, realizing he'd never introduced himself formally. "You can call me bornes."
"Born? Like newborn?" Tsurai chuckled. "Cute name," he said slyly.
"It's french, you wouldn't understand," Bornes shot back. "Q might be more to your liking if you'd rather call me that."
"Q?" Tsurai questioned. "That's even weirder."
Bornes hmphed. "No weirder than your name," he snorted. "So you going to stay here and watch or what?"
Tsurai took a step back, acknowledging Bornes' agitation. "No, I just came to give it to you. Hope you enjoy it!" With that the kid turned around and trotted off.
Bornes turned to Isiah grumbling a "Weird kid," under his breath. "How is it? I've never had gin before."
