Today, I realized we ran out of plastic wrap (for leftovers and such) weeks ago AND I DON"T MISS IT. Yay! One less plastic waste product in my life!

I always feel so guilty about using plastic, so this is great.

Wondering what else I don't need now...

@ Esiris: One of these days, you'll never have to leave home for anything if you don't want to-----good for you! I just got a couple of almond trees in the ground here, hope I get a crop someday. I have a feeling it will be a matter of when the last frost really comes, every year. How many of each did you plant?

@ Vanilla: Way to shop, girl!

@ Strega Mama: What kind of quilt? I made some quilts years ago, "Quilt in a Day" method, when the kids were really little. I would never have finished a single quilt if not for Eleanor Burns!

@ Pirhan: I think your hair (head?) looks great! I'd still like to see a profile pic-----

@ Teh_Plague: HURRAY!!!!! That's the best news in a long, long time! biggrin

@sunset, dragon, pirhan and everyone who reads this thread, Thanks for putting up with my whining and thanks for the good thoughts. My hearing is back to about 90% and will presumably return to 100% after another session or two of cleaning (will know for sure after i get a hearing test)

On top of that i'm working a whole bunch now and after the first someone is quitting their department and one of the other stockers will become the new manager for that department which means i will be moving back to being a full time employee. So hopefully end of April i'll have plenty of money to repair my vehicle and be semi independant again! Can't wait to drive out the the park and go hiking again.

What I did today. I went for a walk, did 4 loads of laundry, checked out some videos on youtube, and read some books from scribed.

I absolutely LOVE scribd.com! They have books on just about anything on there! I got a copy of the The Boston Cooking School Cookbook by Fannie Farmer from 1896! The table of contents alone are 63 pages! Almost everything you wanted to know about cooking food old school style and recipes are in there! The most valuable information that i have found on there have been from old handbooks on almost everything imagineable. Heck even some old classic books are on there.

@sunset: Thanks!

Yesterday across the street neighbors that are moving out put a bunch of stuff on the curb with a 'take me' sign. We got a lot of great stuff: a trash can to use as a recycle bin, a basket for when we harvest our vegetables, some clothes, 2 new toilet seats (my boyfriend likes toilet seats 0.o), a new purse, umbrella, a cat scratcher, a cork board, and some other stuff that I forgot.

heart No worries! It's amazing how quickly you got it all sorted out. I remember this being an issue this time last year? Thankfully it healed quickly.

Good to hear about your job!

Speaking of which - I'm sending out resumes for jobs in BC. Driving back on April 11th. (I won't be logging on to Gaia for security reasons.) It'll take about eight days.

Yesterday I bummed a table off of someone at Starbucks. Boyfriend had a meeting and I came along and chilled at Starbucks. There were lots of seats when I came but the family in front of me took them all. I'm really independent and rarely ask for assistance, so it was a new thing to ask this guy if I could sit with him. He said yes of course and we both did our own thing so it was totally comfortable.

My skin also exploded. gonk I blame that supermoon. Sorry Sunset, pictures will have to wait. xp I can't wait to get back to glacier fed water with no chlorine.

Edit: THIS is where I'm heading too. My bike is going to be SO happy to get out of the garage. cool

woke up before 10am today (awesome improvement over 2pm) went and packed my grandma up at the hospital so she can be moved to the rehabilitation hospital. Ate some egg rolls for lunch. Baked 2 loaves of banana bread with a bit of a drier batter to hopefully get a less moist bread so i can slice it and use it to make french toast. The other day i made cranberry pancakes with brown sugar glaze on them.

I've been driving my grandmothers mini van while she's been in the hospital for her hip replacement and i will be driving it for at least a few more weeks before she is up to it. Forgot how much i enjoyed driving around sometimes.

I learned today:

arrow That I don't know how to get rid of these black puff balls that plague this one particular garden plot that I want to use for vegetables this year. All the sites I visit, recommend fungicide, but I don't want to use harsh chemicals. DX I was able to control the ones on the lawn using baking soda, but I don't know if these fungi spores will harm anyone who want to eat food that I grow in that plot.

arrow Also I learned that no matter how much a user claims to be 'special' 'mature' or 'nice' on their profile, they can be the worst and most stubborn thieves on gaia, stealing entire RP layout format and codes and using it for their own. Even with the request for them to take it down. D:

I cleaned out my plants today. I put them back outside in the sun and repotted my thrifts. All seem to be doing really well. Unfortunately none of my bulbs/tubers made it. They all dried out to dust. Ah, well, it's for the best as it would of been very difficult to transport them all.

I'm also bugging Sony regarding the way my camera names folders. Been going back and forth a few days now. They're asking me to call, which doesn't work - I think they don't like Canadian callers.

But seriously, I ask "why can't my camera name my folders 2011-03-30 instead of "10281031" <- that makes no sense!

I do enjoy it though because I'm a bit of a smart a**. Not as good as some but still. It's something for me to work towards.

I planted 2 of each except the grapes- I planted about 20 starts of grapes.

Today I bought a brewing kit and a book on canning.
I did 4 loads of laundry and designed the house I want to make someday.
I also ran a ton of errands.

This is more of a "what i did yesterday" post. I picked up all of my clothes off of my floor and washed them and folded them right away so i could put them away, i went to work and hashed out a new weekly schedule that will always stay set and guarantee's me 35 hours of work. For the first time in a good long while i have been up at a reasonable hour every morning for an entire week.

Today i'm heading off to my ent appointment, then i'm hitting the recycling center to drop off can's, putting up a new coat rack at my grandmothers and cleaning her place for her before she gets home from the rehabilitation center, and then i'm heading up there to visit her, after that i need to go buy egg's and i think that's it.
