Requiem in Mortis Fresnel Pix. Trying to think of names... I'm sure something will come eventually. That's what she said. Hand Grenade? Fat Man? Big Bada Boom? Mr. High Explosive? I mean, it IS a Glock........ I was almost thinking "Typhoid Mary", but...

My "arsenal", at the moment, is relatively small and unassuming due to economic constraints, but I hope that'll change sooner than later. Suffice to say that if a horde of rabbits storm my house, I'll be prepared.
Marlin Golden 39A (I cannot get a picture at this time) Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer
Both were received from a deceased relative, and the AR-7 was in pieces about their house, leading to a fantastic scavenger hunt.

It's not exactly pretty, but it gets the job done.

Looks like there might be a new addition soon! I'm getting my brother's old Remington 870, which apparently really ISN'T considered an SBS any more without the barrel. On the flip side, it has no barrel, so I'll need one of those. Think I'm gonna talk to Remington and XS about getting the ghost ring rail system and barrel off the 870 Tactical. Then, as I get money, I'll slowly build up parts for a super-tacticool shotgun.
ETA: Goddamn, I spoke to Remington, and the XS system, all told, will cost me about as much as buying a new 870 with the XS sights already on it. So I'm thinking about keeping this Remington as a "decent" gun (18" tactical barrel with choke, extended mag, and the topfolding stock it came with), and saving up for the 887 Tactical later on down the line.
Also, has anyone heard anything bad about putting a magazine on your shotgun that's longer than the barrel? Obviously if it's too long, the shot will hit it, but I'm thinking of putting a +4 extender on the 870, which is meant for a 20" barrel. But I'm using an 18.5" barrel, preferably with a 2" extended ported choke, so I'm wondering if it'd damage the tube somehow?

It probably won't cause you any problems.

I've seen three-gun competitors using magazine tubes longer than their barrels without any obvious ill effects. I can't say how good it would be for the gun, but I'd personally be thinking more about how it would be weird aesthetically and kind of front-heavy more than about actual damage.

It might be a bit odd-looking, but I plan on using extended chokes all the time, so it shouldn't be too odd, and as for the weight, I shouldn't think an extra shell and two inches of hollow steel would way that much. I was just a bit worried that the ported choke might allow the muzzle flash to burn a hole though the tube or something.

The barrel has arrived! All images (1024x76 cool thumbnailed for your convenience. Tactical apple corer! Stock folded. Someday upgrades: Mesa Tactical 8-shell sidesaddle and rail, 8-round mag extension, mag clamp/rail attachment to slap a light on, and probably a Knoxx SpecOps stock. And maybe I'll stick my EOTech on the top rail.

Back to visit Gaia for nostalgia, and have returned with my first firearm: Taurus .357 Mag. Figured if I should start with a small gun, I should start with a big bullet ^__^ I was actually looking for .38 Special, but this little guy was actually cheaper by 40 bucks, and can still take .38.

Purchased a rifle from a Gunshow today. A nice looking Polish mauser ( wz.29 ) There is a three day waiting period before I can pick it up, so I'll post pictures Thursday or Friday.

These pictures are pretty shitty, so I'll take some better ones tomorrow. For now, here is my new Polish Wz.29 (From my understanding, most likely given to the Spanish during the Spanish Civil War) And of course, while taking it apart, I discovered CRYPTIC RUNES. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

Thdark And of course, while taking it apart, I discovered CRYPTIC RUNES. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? There was once a Chinese guy, he worked in the fields with a sickle, and had a house, one day he took two bananas to the market and traed them for a paintball gun. ....I think thats what all that means, but I could be wrong... In other news, meet Annabelle.

I've never had an M4 stock before. Does it wobble any at full extension?

Fresnel I've never had an M4 stock before. Does it wobble any at full extension? It is a cheap commercial spec stock/buffer assembly that I got from AIM ~$40. Commercial spec stocks tend to have loose tolerances and do wobble a bit when not shouldered which milpec sets don't do. however, I will say than once shouldered the force in the stock prevents wobble. When money permits I will swap it for a milspec tube and CTR stock.
