Myere was beside himself with outrage. Stepping from the wheel, Myere slowly paced forward whilst muttering aloud, " Captain's Coxswain since I was a boy - been to sea all my life and for what? To be treated like filth by some second rate guttersnipe. Well, I'll be damned if I stay onboard this ship another month. Once we reach Provoka, I'm jumping ship... and you can be right sure that the Captain will hear of this. Mark my words... he will hear of this."
With that, he went below for teh duration of the voyage.

I hope he does! *she called after him. After she realized that she had lost her temper, she looked at the deck, and closed her eyes for a second. She opened them and got back to work. She took the wheel and looked into the distance. She thought she could see a speck of Provoka, but it was probably just her wanting to see it. She called up to the crow's nest* Oi! Due West! What do you see there?

She watched as both Ares and Myere lost their tempers. True, Myere had over stepped and Captain Ares has put him in his place quickly, but with no sight of land her stomache would not settle and she felt a little nautious. Looking towards the captain, she hoped that by slipping away she would not be noticed or reprimanded for speaking out of turn.

<< I apologize for my absence, I have briefly explained why in the OOC forum.>>
Baxter just stood there asthe discussion between Ares and Myere turned hostile. "I'm just a doctor," he thought. "I know little of ships and boats. My knowledge of boats is that they go from one place to another across the water. I also know that the person who just went below has the knowledge to make that happen." He started to think as to how he can salvage this and at least get the ship to where it needs to go. At least he had people skills, and he would try to use them to his advantage.
"Miss Ares, can I interpret your current orders are to bring the ship to port in Provoka?"

Those have always been my orders, doctor. The Captain old me to go there, and that's what I've ordered everyone else to do as well. *she walks up to the wheel* We're almost there, and when we are, I hope a change in the wind appears.

"Well, perhaps you should go to your cabin and relax. Take some time to yourself. Grieve at the loss of your friend. If something requires the Captain's attention, I shall send for you right away. I just no that seeing you in the state your in, and seeing petty squabbles among the higher ranks will destroy what little morale the crew has left. I'll see that we make it to port safely; so please, I beg of you, take some time to yourself in quarters. I just need to run below real quick." With that, Baxter descended into the ship.

Impressed with how the Doctor was handling the situation, she gave him a hint of a smile before turning her attention to the captain.
"Miss Ares, I know we have not always gotten along in the past, but may I please see to your comfort in the Captain's quarters? Maybe some hot ale from the kitchens with some bread?"
She could see the dark circles under Ares eyes, the few months that she had become Captain had aged her young features. Weathered her face until it was that of someone much older, much more experienced. Had Jack succumed to the same fate? Had the see aged him before his time, would it age her too? Trying to shake such thought from her head, she smiled at Ares ready to serve.

No, I am quite fine, I assure you. *she looks up to the masts and sighs* Jack, I just....don't know. *she looks into the distance at the approaching land* Raise the topsails.

*She slowly walked up to where Myere and Ares had been arguing. The tension in the air was thick with uneasiness and uncertainty. Watching them part ways after their heated brannigan, she looked desperately up to Miss Ares, Dr. Baxter and now Miss Midnight. These were her current leaders aboard ship. These were the ones who would know what to do since the Captain had been taken from the Lady in a valiant effort to let us break free from the British navy. She sighed slightly as she saw the Doctor and the now Acting Captain engaged momentarily in a suggestion of a conversation before he ducked below deck.
There she stood. Tired. Strained. Not the same first mate as before. Despite her claims to Miss Midnight about her being fine, it was evident she was worried. And rightly so. Here she was taking Captain Jack's pride and joy to Provoka, without any idea as to what is to follow.
Swallowing hard, she walked up behind Miss Midnight and Acting Captain Ares and dropped her head as she spoke.*
"Captain... I may not know much about actually sailing, but I'm sure I could be of more use here than down below deck with the Doctor right now... Could you use a hand on those topsails or another place on the deck, ma'am?"

((OOC - I apologize for my absence. I started nursing school in August, and it has ran me ragged. Now that I have a better handle on it, I should be able to post a bit more often. Thank you for your patience.)))
Destiny balanced the box of snacks on her hips, and the satchel of drinks bumped on her hip as she climbed up the steps to the main deck. She looked about for Ares, and when Destiny found Ares, she made her way over to her.
" Captain, ma'am, Captain Kuristopha had appointed me as Steward, and I wasn't sure if you were going to keep me in that position. I'm sorry for the absence ma'am. "
Destiny presented the box of snacks to Ares for her to make a selection, and then did the same with the drink.

No, nothing has changed in the crew positions. You are still steward as long as you feel. *she refuses the snack and takes a small drink. She then keeps climbing*

*Jaden quickly scuttled up the ropes to the sails and swiftly helped to unfurl them so they could arrive at Provoka as soon as possible. Whilest going about her temporary duties to get underway as fast as the winds could carry them, her thoughts drifted off to the Doctor and how he must be feeling since this had happened. He seemed to be so close to the Captain. Her heart sank a little as she took a moment to think about him in all of this. A slight gust of wind quickly brought her back to the task at hand as she lost balance for a moment.
After finishing with the sails and picking up part of the deck, she went below to the Infirmary to see if there was anything she could help the Doctor. She was sure that he was trying to simply play it cool. His demeanor was calm but she sensed that he was worried of what was soon to come. Hoping he would confide in her, she worked her way below deck.*

*she stood in the Crow's Nest and watched the land get closer. A few more hours... She said this to herself to keep her going, as her spirits had been severly dropped since her tiff on the deck.*
