In regards to the previous convo: my character is already married and has kids. s**t just kinda happens as time goes on.
Now, I have a question about a new ability I'd like to make. I want Damon to learn how to turn his psionic energy into raw physical prowess, becoming superhumanly strong and durable at the cost of his more complex abilities.
How does it sound?

I'd need to see the exact trade-offs before I could give you an accurate assessment. But just based off how you worded it there..
"I've got amazing techniques and powers. I'll trade in the really super cool ones for just being ******** strong."
This means that depending on how durable/strong you are, you'd need to axe lots of even tiny moves to keep relatively balanced. It's a simple paradigm, where typically, mages or high-technique fighters gets so many moves because they're physically frail or weak to compensate. Vice-versa for powerful swordsmen, they don't get too much in the way of abilities because they're walking ******** tanks.
Overload a tank with too many boss mechanics and they become Jesus or Thor. It's a ******** battle tank, it doesn't need the ability to instantly cross 15 feet of distance every other post.
Vintrict would consider this a balancing triumph, offloading complicated or elaborate mechanics in exchange for raw, strength-multiplying power. Myself.. I'd be hesitant.
It sounds like Ertai trying out wrestling.
That's scary.

the fact that youre using a female character to fight is already bullshit enough. Women are inferior and much weaker than men in terms of fighting.

C. Fox the fact that youre using a female character to fight is already bullshit enough. Women are inferior and much weaker than men in terms of fighting. She's an undead construct. She was weak as hell when she was alive.

Yes.
A single, extraordinary high-power punch, and focused fire blast against a specific body part, that was armored, and therefore also not guarded by her energy shield, is spread out area of contact.
And plate armor is designed to resist crushing strikes.
I don't know why people designed maces then, since all that is is blunt force.
On the other hand, stabbing attacks don't really work either, since, you know, plate armor.

What Hael said, but I'll add this. I've always liked the idea of magic or supernatural ability giving a normally weaker character an edge, but not when it simply makes them superior in one aspect while retaining the advantage of a smaller size/stature.
A classic example is like a pretty magical sailor anime teen chick character who can somehow punch massive holes in the sides of skyscrapers. For the cool/funny effect.
So it sucks when you're up against a character who's all about being big and buff and strong and you say "Yeah, I'm just as strong and durable thanks to my magic but I'm also more agile and harder to hit thanks to my body type." At that point the only real disadvantage you have is your weight, but if you have magic/psionics you can throw in ranged abilities whereas the brute character who really focuses on brute strength and tanking hits probably sacrificed any ranged potential.
That's kind of a lame example but it's late and I'm not so coherent. And I don't mean to say it's what you'd do. But that's the gist of it. It's fine unless you're going so far you're stealing someone else's thunder when they should have a more natural, logical advantage in that particular area. Or if you otherwise have a well-rounded arsenal, and you can match or beat a dedicated brawler.
Or you balance it all with high cost, high effort. I'm assuming you want it to be a more prominent part of his arsenal, however, and not a high cooldown or charged ability.
The problem with psionics in how it can get played is you can also get a significant opportunity advantage for at least part of the fight. You could go in to look like a completely unarmed, unarmored fighter but have this invisible, at-will supernatural armor and strikes imbued with powerful energy. So personally I'd argue there should be some indication when the energy is in use. Granted, you did that in our fight so as long as you keep that I'd be cool with it. But in general some people try to get away with that.

I want to see someone play a legit zombie character. Just tough as s**t with not much else going on for them. Just "I'm a sentient, reanimated corpse. s**t."
Ol' Zombie Joe all up in this b***h.

The forcefield overlaps her armor, by the way. And your Rocket Punch Giga Drill Breaker went right through it. I was talking about the Serpent Wave at the beginning and the slashing arc from just now.

C. Fox so i guess being (UN)dead makes you stronger? ... for whatever reason. or something. Her body itself didn't gain durability or strength, so much as it is the magic animating her has the ability to do what physically she should not technically be able to.

Sigil Warden Tresondros Ecstuffuan Fierach Man, I'm getting rather annoyed with that energy shield thats up every two axe swings for two turns. That thing should be a one off. It's actually not that powerful, but he keeps spreading out the area of contact, and hitting it with blunt force, which it mutes just like her physical armor. What if you don't have any other means to reduce the surface pressure lower than what their fist can? As far as I remember her armor isn't covering every inch of her body.

These parts are physically armored: Neck, arms, shoulders, ribcage, pelvis (hip plates), crotch, legs. The forcefield covers her entire body in like an envelope of energy.
Hits still weaken the forcefield, so punching it multiple times will get through.
