MagnusXL Someone go out and buy me FFXI. You go buy it. $3 for the game and a month. Because they want to drag people in. Or $20 for the game and all the expansions.

How about you just go buy a real game.
Like Virtua Fighter 5... FOR 360.. NOT STUPID PS3.

HonoRaven because he likes games that actually have an ending... the fighting games just go on forever sweatdrop False. Fighting games have plenty of endings. Play them sometime and then pretend to know something. Also... He said FFXI ... if I'm not mistaken that's the online game right? The MMORPG one? Talk about not having an ending.. MMORPGS are notorious for not having a finishing goal in sight.

Depends on what your doing, you level up enough, it has an end of a sort if you beat the final whatever, or the most powerful creature...expansion packs are more of a kind of sequel then a non-ending.
sweatdrop But yeah, all video games have a kind of end, human beings like things to be finite.

Ragnarok Online, Maple Story, and various other MMORPGS do not come to mind as those that have endings.

*Raises hand, putting a point on the board for Crawley.*
Fighting games have an ending for each character. Possibly more than one, depending on whether or not there are multiple story paths that can be taken.
You get to the ending of those games much, MUCH faster than you get to the ending of any other type of game (unless you're talking about the kingdom mode in Soul Calibur, which is pretty long).
Also, FFXI is an MMO. Which means that you -can- keep playing it forever if you want. It -does- have an ending, but it takes a -long- time to get there, and even once you beat the game storyline there's still a disproportionately large amount of extra content you can mess with.
Speaking specifically for FFXI, the kingdom missions (main storyline) can be finished with a party around level 50-55. The Zilart missions (first expansion) can be done around the same level, since they were released before the level cap was raised. The Promathia missions (second expansion) are more of a level 65-70 thing. The AU missions (third expansion) are 70+. And the extra bosses and things that can be done get up to 75+, which is rough since the level cap is at 75 and it takes groups of like 20 max level players to beat some bosses over the course of 2-3 hours.
