She snickered. "What are you gonna do, break my arms?" Of course knowing him he had some spell or item or something or other. Best not to temp the man who had a vault of anything and everything. Though a look down to her lap and well her mood just perked right up now didn't it. Bow! Now...Piper did love her own...but it was old as dirt by this point, half worn, the string had snapped half a dozen times, not to mention it wasn't the most accurate in the Underdark seeing as her vision wasn't sharp. This seemed to be made for Underdark shooting...and it was red! "Have I mentioned that I love you yet today?" Indeed she did...had she been feeling a bit more up to par, some squealing and then jumping of his person would of occurred. Screw the pain, thus she grasped it in both hands, taking to inspecting it in the way a well seasoned archer usually did. "So, a longbow turned into a compound." She'd never used either, only her recurve. Standing from her chair she held it out with her arm, which did cause a wince from her seeing as she braced with her left arm and thus her left shoulder. Other hand grasped the string and pulled back testing, as she also checked out the view through sight. Then a satisfied happy smile was turned to Malik and a spark of gold in her eyes before she lowered it and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I Love it...and you of course."
Okay, she'd admit...she was impressed by it as well. Getting a longbow range on a compound, or what looked like a compound, wasn't the easiest and nearly impossible. Meant it was easy to carry but was perfect for triple range shots. Covered a short's, recurve's, and long bow's range. That was nifty. "Beautiful work too." Well bred archer as well, all of her family were in fact. "Truly impressive...its' not easy to get bows down so much yet still keep their range to such a distance. Not to mention coupled with a sight...that's a deadly weapon right there. Of course you should probably get it runed too."
Piper shook her head lightly, looking to Fianna. "You and runes."
"Rune mage, what can I say."

"Rune mage?"
That was a new one for him. but sounded very nice, as Piper went about inspecting her bow and giving that spark in her eyes, that got matched by a look of his own.
"Trueshot bows are a wonderful combination od several milliena of perfected fletching and the wonderment of gnomish ingenuity. they are made from a redwood type tree in the emerald jungle, the string is made from twined sinews of minotaur, and the of course gnomish gearing and clockwork components give it the tightness and force to have the range of a longbow."
A snicker.
"the wood is the really difficult part. a red dragon, named Talendor, makes his home in that jungle. and he loves the color red too. I may have another one in teh vault for your mother, I'd have to check, provided she might want one."
A smile and a small hug, and a gentle kiss, nevermind it was in front of mom.
"and I love you too, 'chev."

"I take it back, I like all the junk you pile up in the basement." Said with a melodic laugh attached to the end. Indeed, she was giddy happy over this. It was a good mood booster too...now if only her arm wasn't so sore, she'd go play with it...but that wasn't the case now was it. Sure, working her arm was good, but over working could make it worse. Damn it. But she nuzzled his chest affectionately as she leaned against him some. "You're spoiling is starting at top quality is it?"
Much like Kieran, Fianna was filing that information away. Mostly because it was about a bow, and then partly because she could tease Kieran with knowing something fascinating that he had missed out on. It was amusing what the elf would do for information sometimes. "Rune mage. Back in Andal we not only use magics that are inherent in the lands and ourselves, but also a systems of runes in enhance those magics we have." Walking to the bed she picked up Piper's dagger and returned to the couple, holding it out for view as she passed a hand over it. Lo and behold, a series of runes showed their existence on the blade in pale white lighting. "They're like no place else and only trained rune mages can manipulate them. Usually applied to weapons and armors, some other gear in general."

He patted the very large steel crate that rest on the ground beside him. How had he gotten it there? Welll, he wouldn't tell you if he was asked, so i dont' think I should tell you either. Point is, it was there, and the man with the glasses was smiling brodly.
He loked at the light defenses, almost laughed, and decided that he woudl rater not confront anyone today and have to explaon why he could get through them undetected and unscathed. Unless he wenyt in from underneath, but he didn't feel like digging either. he chuckled and banged on the side of the crate, the contents of which making very odd sounds. "I'll just leave you here, and they can have fun discovering you like a life-day present."
He attached a note the crate, and walked off. A few seconds later, the crate was the only evidence of his arivle and departure.
The note read:
"Dear Benefactor:
Contained within are the humanoid gladiators we have agreed apon. use at your leisure. My master forgives that he is too busy at this time to revieve visitors. Should an opporunity arise int he future, we will let you know.
The Undersigned,
Right Hand."

Things were intense. How was his daughter fairing? He fingered the small dragon figurine that he noew used as a belt buckle. Kat....was she safe?
O'Konner held a candle up before his eyes, trying too see the hand drawn map in front of him clearly. No one had had much sleep lately, and of late he was expected to be ready at any time. Preperations caused many sleepless days, battles sleepless nights. Everyone was battle weary, the tension in the air was thick and cloying. The rank smell of the dead city even more pronounced with blood flowing more freely than anone had ever seen. They were comming to the crutial last stretches of the war.
A lad beside him lit another candle. "Thank you Wart. Where is Diamond?"
"'E's 'round back, O'Konnah."
"Fetch him, would you?"
"Yes, sah." A lucky find, that lad, who readily took the offered position of serving under Diamond. One of the few children to actually stay alive in this hellish place, he had been surving alone, without parents, looking after his younger sister. They had thought him dead, when they found him covering his young sisters body, shielding her from flaming arrows. A nasty scar spread over the lad's back, but amazingly, he had survived and recouperated quickly. Able bodied, willing to fight, as long as his sister was being looked after that was.

Zahara watched to see what was happening and she blinked in surprise when Kimmuriel disappeared in front of her very eyes. She slowly walked forward unsure of what to expect. She wasn't sure if she'd be able to see the creature, if she'd be able to move fast enough to get out of the way. "I'm no good to him dead...no good to him dead." She had to keep repeating it to herself, mumbling it beneath her breath so that she kept up the courage to keep going. Moving along...waiting.

Lord Diamond stood by his mount, a steardy lizard by the name Flametale. He was looking at one of the new wounds on the creature's side, and was feel rather pitiful towards the creature. How many people had died in freeing this city from tyrrany. How many murdered in the shadows.
Wart's sister was grooming one of the other beasts, a fine lass to be tending ot the horses, and an even better boy serving the arms. That Wart had all of the noble qualities necessary for fighting in this war. Diamond was glade he took the boy for his squire.
The kid's appearence brought the hero from his contemplations, and he followed him back into the tent. "It feels like our efforts shall come to a triumphant end soon." The lord told the man who he felt was a fellow noble.
A few moments after Tarathiel had disappeared, the air about Zahara began to chill with a sinister feeling. The ground seemed to be perticularly soft, and the darkness seemed to deepen. Within a minute of the change in atmosphere, a figure appeared before Zahara. A tall, and very attractive male. As though, someone had taken the image staringht from her imagination.
I have found you at last! It said to her, The one I have been looking for, the one.
The male walked slowly towards her, waves of parallizing psychics washed over her, as the creature behind this dreary illusion blasted her with the mental energies of his people.

O'Konner nodded. The air was still, and stank of anticipation. He pointed to the rough map, an area where the rouges had gained territory. "They are massing, somewhat. Someone has thought to take a semblence of comand." He fiddled with the unaccustomed weights of sowrds on his hips, shiften them into a more comfortable position. "They are becoming desperate."
Wart followed in close behind, ready to to move at a moments notic, have the right answer ready, know where the right equipment was. He was as anticious as any to have this war over with, so that he might go back to taking care of his sister.
"If we don't move soon against them, they might become organized enough to defeate us."

She continued walking until she ran into an image right out of her fantasies. And while most Drow would never admit to thinking about a man, she had. And he looked just like that. Long white hair, darker skin than she had and the most beautiful red eyes she'd ever seen. His face was masculine, he had a very nice body and made her think all sorts of thoughts she shouldn't be thinking. Not that sex was a big deal, it really wasn't, it was more of a tool of control, something to hold over the males to prove how weak they actually were. But she stood there for a moment and felt her mind being opened. She watched him, speechless for a moment and then felt her mind bombarded with all kinds of things. Her knees buckled and her hands went up to her head but she focused deeply and searched for the intrusion, slamming up a barrier like she had learned in the presence of mindreaders.

Diamond looked at the map, and pointed to the buildings. "We can attack with a ground melee unit from her, and have half our calvery ride from here across the left flank of the line of scrimage. The other half can wait in reserve for our messanger, Wart. We'll place our archers across the tops of these two buildings to give them some leverage, but the height will decrease their killing range by a third, which means we'll be using them to harass the enemy. I will lead some of the vetrans into the rear of their lines to find the central command node and to take it out. Would you care for the morale of the melee unit and the calvery reserves? My other two captains can cover the archers and chargers. We will be thin in numbers, but out flanking them. If their courage holds, we will be in a desprite situation, but if it breaks, they will fall fast and hard."
The image wavered at the presence of the mindblock, Do you not want me inside you? To be one? The thing continued its advance, Would you not want to hold my body close to yours, to embrace?

She was feeling very calm, watching him, wondering just what it would be like to hold him, to let him in her mind, to allow him to....her thoughts took off racing in all kinds of directions. Let him in, her voice whispered seductively. Know what it feels like for once, come on...let him in... She watched him for another moment and then slowly lowered the mind barrier. She could trust him, he'd never hurt her, right? Of course he'd never hurt her, he loved her. Well he said she was the one he'd been searching for and that implied love right? Right, her mind whispered. She lowered her defenses and felt him slip in.

"I woukld care for them too much, methinks. I dispare for everyone oen we lose." He flipped his hat onto his head, tapping the brim. "We should get underway then, and squash them before they have a chance to move."
Grabbing his guns from a nearby table, he tucked them in the back of his belt. Wart handed him what light armor he had decided to use. "As long as we act confident, the bullies will back down."
The mass on the border of town was not so large as one might expect for a war, but in a city that had little in the ways of human population, it was far larger than any Lostian had ever seen. Why the brutes had decided to work toegether was soemtihng of a mystery, but it happened, adn they were readying themselves.

The image was standing directly in front of her, two hands now touched her face, its face moved slowly forward but then it faultered. The image faded leaving the ugly head of the mind flayer before her. The creature had what appeared to be several drow hand crossbow darts sticking into its shoulder and side of head. One of the arms whipped across in front of her to twist the vile creature's body towards the left flank. The trees burst in a telekenetic burst.
Truly what beauty she saw barely a moment before, was a hideous monster. Its head looked much like a squid placed on top of a tall thin frame. Its hands were three fingered and oily. They appeared more like teniticle ending in claws than fingers. It wore a black robe which strechted the length of its body.
Tarathiel tumbled out of the forest on the otherside of the Illithid, launching a spray of darts as he tumbled across the path. The surprizingly accurate shots continueously hit the squid faced man. The creature retored by shooting a barrage of tellekenetic bursts at the drow.
Lord Diamond patted his comrade at arms on the shoulder, "That makes you worthy of leadership." He replied to the coment on the dead. "As field commander, you are to inspire your soldiers with a speech. That goes for you too kid, when you are used to summon the knights." Diamond pulled his light sword off the wall. "We shall dine in the comfort of a peaceful town after this battle."

"They find such inspiration in an old cattle rancher? How odd. Good fortune be with you, Diamond." He clasped hands iwht his freind a moemnt, ebfore moving outside and finding those under his command. They were ready and waiting, and stood silently, their faces ashen, their eyes full of pasion.
"I need not remind you why you are fighting her, men. Freinds, comrades, we've all suffered under the so called rule of the brawn. Tjy once proud lostagrace in ashes." He did not raise his vice, but all eyes were on him. "We could change that, you know. All of us, here, now. One more fight boys. It ends tonight. And By gods, we'll be the oens on top." There were no cheers, only dedicated murmers. Thye stood and waited to be called on.

Zahara was shocked to see that her dream lover had turned into a hideous monster. She jerked and watched as it leaned in toward her and her hand went immediately to her daggers. She saw the attack launched and the darts lodge into the creature and she took it as an opportunity to plunge her daggers into the creature's midsection. A quick jab with one, then yanking it out and the other was unsheathed. No way was she goign to let this ugly of a creature beat her. She felt so stupid for falling under his spell but while he was distracted she could get in a few hits. She slammed up the mental barrier again, just in case and tried to plunge her daggers into their mark once again.
