"Have i heard of him? he is only the most celebrated pirate in the underdark! The Dark Seraphim sales under the very mention of the drwo's name!" The smile on her face was girlish and awed. One of my favoites is when he was being enterained by a group of nobles, not suspecting that they did not like him. They poisoned his wine, but he said he'd be fine. They shot him with those um...thingamajigs...guns....six times, slit his throat, rolled him up in a carpet and threw him into an icy river. And what did he do? He walked out! Perfectly fine, and proceeded to free the country side of it's cruel monarchy, burning most of the city to ground, the residing country folk able tolive peaceful lives once again!." She giggled again, twielign on oen foot. "And I get to meet him!" She said in a singsong voice.

"That happened not too long ago. It was twelve bullets from twelve riffles." Warhammer replied, with the minotaurian equivelent of a smile. "He even routed the noble's calvery on his own using common household tools and a fishing line."

She sat down again, paying rapt attention to Warhammer. "Really? Tweleve bulltes? Do you have any stories I have not heard? i would love to be able to bring soem back to my crew!"

"A poor slave once looked upon the Captain, and asked him to save her from her chains. He did." Warhammer smiled again, "That would be my personal favorite."

"Why not tell her about the time the Captian single handedly destroyed an armada of ships using a Ring of Water Walk and a rope?" Orko interjected, "Hi, I am Orko. I heard about you from the others, Naga the Serpent."

Naga listened as if this was the best story in the world. "Did he kill anybody to do that? Who was it this slave? OCme on bull, details!"

Then she laughed at Orko, "I love being heard of. Hello Orko, pelase, sit and tell about this story, adn iw ill tell you how handsome you are." She patted the stone beside her. She'd do anytihng for a tarathiel story.

Orko wisely allowed Warhammer to speak first, "The girl was named Dagger by her owner, but in truth is currently known as Zeranda."

"The wife of the king was a slave freed by Captain?"

"Yes, she was. After he had freed her, which was a bloody affair, he decided to help her usurp the kingdom, but had other business to attend to, so he travelled away from her for twenty years and returned."

"Warhammer, you certainly leave out the interesting details in your first telling of a story."

"That, is because those interesting details are not important to the story."

"Once a teacher, always a teacher."

"Orko, do you not have more to add to your tale of battlelust and wonder?"

"IT was fifteen years ago, when I joined the crew of the Whip, when we were assulted by an armada of Draconian Ships, from Dracoconica or somewhere like that, and the Captain did not want to see his ship sunk, so he told the crew to keep sailing away, and to come back in one day for him." Orko emphaised his meanings by waving is arms. "Then he took some rope, his ring and jumped off the side of the boat, and charged at the armada on foot, which off couse was not difficult because of the speeds the ships were travelling at. He snaged the first ship with his rope, and swung onto the side, and then crawled across the side of the ship and attacked the helms men, killed him, and turned the ship towards a near by vessel before destroying the helm. He was lucky, or knew, that the current would alter the direction of the ship enough to accutally ram the other vessel. After the impact, he moved onto the new ship, killing everyone who got to close. I think he was hit by a few arrows here, but the winds were pretty irratic at the time."

"I may have helped him a little bit." Warhammer admited.

"Anyways, back to my story. They were charging this way and that, trying to kill him, and then... then... well... We couldnt' see what was happening. But, when we returned, we found all the ships sunk, and the captain the only survivor drinking some of the Admeral's wine."

"That is an amazing story!" Naga swooned, her hands clasped and raised to her cheek. "I wil rmeber everything,w ord for word, so that my crew can know the joy I, Naga the Serpent, am feeling right now!" there was a little blush in her cheeks, adn her eyes seemd far away.

She gaped at him for a moment, oh great, now Malik was going to tease her about talking to herself. She could just hear the snide comments about her insanity and the loss of blood now. "Are you telling me that he can't see you...?" She shook her head and then laughed, "Oh I could hold this over his head. Tell him I talked to you personally and he stood not even a foot away. In any case, thank you Kimmuriel, you saved me a great deal of pain on the way back. If I can ever repay you, be sure to let me know." She could tell that Kimmuriel was drawing the meeting to an end but she was loathe to let him go just yet. It was the first contact she'd had with a Drow, excluding Malik whom she didn't count anyway, since she'd left home. "The Mind Flayer?"

"I hope you do... and I could tell you-"

"Orko, if you do not return to your duties, you will have another Mark of Justice on your head."

"More when I am finished my advanced conjouring and stuff."

"Orko."

"Later." Puff.

"You have never heard of Mind Flayers?" Kimmuriel was somewhat taken aback, "They are rarer this far away from their enclave. They are squid faced psychics that eat brains and take control over minds. They keep slaves, for purposes I am not entirely aware. I believe they worship some type of mother brain, a central nerve, that gives them their powers. I discovered one lurking the shadows recently, and hunted it to this region. I believe that it is here investigating Malik, or planing to eat him. Malik is from another plane, so I would guess that makes him perticularly appealing to the Mind Flayers."

"Then again, Malik might be aligning himself with this dispicable creatures. Either way, I am going to kill it." He looked at Malik, then back at the Drow. "Want to come?"

She gave a sniffle. "No more stories? I grew up hearing about Kimmuriel. He's a hero." She was besid herself with child-like giddyness. Literally boucning in her seat. "i am watingitn much to long...too long...this is taking too long..."

She laughed, "Do you really think I look like I should be in another fight right now?" She glanced down and for the first time realized that her skirt had been torn pretty badly by the Sphinx. So she reached down and ripped the rest of the fabric since it was already hanging pretty badly. Well, she'd evened up her hemline for her, stupid b***h. She'd have to make a brand new skirt now but utnil then she was just going to be showing off a lot more leg. Ah well, everything would be fine. "To slay a Mind Flayer...how does one go about doing this?"

Warhammer placed a hand over half the drow's upper body, "Calm. When you meet him, your heart will be contented by the overwhelming presence he will certainly have in your life."

"You are drow. You are always ready for a fight, or your dead." Replied the somewhat cold sounding voice of Tarathiel. He seemed to look away when she fiddled with her skirt.

"An Illithid is not overly dificult to kill once you know how to defeat his primary weapon, his brian. He uses psychic shocks to leave his victims helpless, then streches on of his tenticles up it's nose, and takes out the brain."

"Are you not a cleric of Lloth? Could you not pray for the protection spell Mind Shield? That would render the creature almost completely helpless. Mind you, he will still try to eat your brain in melee combat, so I would not recomend letting him near your face."

She settled a bit, drawing in a deep rbeath. She loked around, at the keep behind them. "What kind of a place is this for the most spectacular captain in all existance to hang out? It's...um.." She rolled a wrist..."....not very spectacular." Actually,s he was frowning at it. Ugh, who would want to live in such a place? Yuck.

"I could pray for anything I want but I doubt I'd get anywhere. I never completed my training so in answer to your question, no I'm not really a priestess. I was training to be but things went sour on me and I never took the ultimate test. But I suppose it couldn't hurt to try. Praytell, how do you intend to find this beast?" She wasn't going to say anymore on how or why things hand't worked out though sh ehad a feeling he'd question it. She couldn't very well tell him she'd run away because she was supposed ot be sacrificed to his mother. That wouldn't be good, he'd porbably drag her back and she couldn't risk that.

"This is where the captain currently runs a large campain streching from the hollow caves to the north of Lostagrace," Warhammer pointed almost arbitrarily in Naga's unknowing mind, "To the south and the Fortress of Malik." Pointed the other direction. "This centre nerve hub acts as both a command centre and a body guard for an importan local."

"You are better off." Kimmuriel was familiar with such runaways, usually they did not get this far away from home.

"Well, I am going to lure him into a trap by allowing him to trap me. Then I am going to cut off his head. Unless you would like to be the bait?"
