OK did you get Elder Scrolls 3 or did you get 4? I'm not positive on the requirements for Oblivion, but I'm sure they're pretty high. As for Morrowind(ES3) I'm really not sure, but they're probably about as much as CS 1.6. The only thing that I can think of that's causing crashes is that you don't meet the minimum required running requirements. Knock the graphics down as much as possible. If it persists look for new video card drivers or you need more RAM and possibly a new video card. When it crashes what does the error say?
As for your thumb sticks. Try going through the options. There should be an invert thumb sticks Y and X axis. You want to uninvert the X axis. If you like the push up for up and down for down make sure the Y axis is uninverted.
And if you are pushing right and left and instead of going left and right you go up and down, you may want check out your controllers settings in the controll panel or in game. That's never happened to me before so I wouldn't know.
And yes Vain, I have no idea what to say right now. I haven't had much time to think. I have my finals literally tomorrow through Wednesday. I also got the holds on my records resolved today.

I don't know, maybe it is just taking forever to load, as it doen't crash at all, but my sound and graphics cards are up to date(This is a brand new computer with brand new recent cards) And no, I am not playing Oblivion, I am playing Morrowind, when I start the game, it is like this: The opening goes, then the elf guy says to wake up, asks my name, then the guard leads me down the hall to the hatch, and tells me to open and leave, and when I open the hatch it sits for a while with the little box with the word "Hatch" still there, but loads the sounds and stuff of the hatch opening, then running water and stuff for the next area As for the joypad, I already checked, it seems to be working fine for my comp, as I checked beforehand, but I'll try the axis thing(It only has one of them) I also wish the PC version allowed Third-person view, I like it better(Especially if I get a nude patch) Also, I haven't yet run the tribunal or Bloodmoon discs, are those required or something?

It does allow the third person view. Find the hot key. If it's not hot keyed go into options and hot key it. And a nude patch in Morrowind. >.< Bloodmoon and Tribunal are good expansions. I still haven't become a werewolf yet. But it's a pain since you have to kill a person a night without being seen. Also it's really funny when they run.

Well, actually, I am guessing I don't have third person yet since I have only given my name, but not yet given my race.
As for the problem, here is a screenie of how it looks right when I go open the hatch:
When I open it, the sound of it opening plays, and then the water and stuff, but it just sits here on this same picture, but I can't bring up the ESC menu or anything

OK so it freezes. Hmm... Clean the disk. And you may have to uninstall to fix the issue. When you close it does and error box pop up?

Actually, once I open the hatch, it freezes, then after about a minute, loadblack screen. I can actually move about and stuf(I hear it) but it is still just a black screen, and the only way sofar I have been able to close is to bring up the task manager, which when I do that the game instantly stops responding and widnows closes it:
I probably do need to uninstall, as the disc is nto dirty, and is brand new. I'll try reinstalling

Are you on Vista? Cause if you are, your not on the right running system. I believe Morrowind is at most an XP.

So you are saying I can only run the game up to the first door because I have a BETTER and UPGRADED version of windows? That just doesn't make any sense, aren't computer programs suppose to have MINIMUM requirements, not MAXIMUM? And if it did not work with Vista, then I don't know how to explain why it works up to the point it does. Anyway, now it won't let me uninstall, the stupid thing is saying to "Insert Disc 1 with the data2.cab" and so I can't uninstall now, I have tried it with all 4 discs and no avail. Sheesh, I didn't have this problem with Diablo 2 or Neverwinter Nights, almost as if Morrowind does not like me

Some games just don't run on Vista. That's why I was waiting until more games supported Vista. You may be able to find a patch, but since Morrowind is so old, I don't know.
And don't ask me why it's like that. I have one game that plays on this PC and not on my laptop. Both are XP abd both have the same Win 32 files, or at least the should. And the game doesn't read the Win 32 files on my laptop.
As for the uninstall if worse comes to worse go into your program files and look for the folder and delete it. But try the Control panel and use the add and remove programs first. I'm starting to think something went wrong in the install.
But I just thought of something. Try slowing your disk drive down to the recommended speed. That could burn out the disk. And games do have a point of maximum. When the computer's components are too fast for the game, the game will crash. That happened to one of my friends with L2. He went up to Core 2 Duo when it first came out and the game kept crashing. So that could be your problem as well.

Vista wasn't made with gamers in mind, it's always business before plesure. I'll stick with XP for now, and just upgrade my cards.

That's the best bet. My friend just installed XP onto it his new comp. So when I get a new one I'm going to order it with XP not Vista. Even if XP has more security flaws and sucks up RAM like a child in a candy store.
