"Hey! Look at this booth." Odessa stopped, pointing at some cute little chocolate bats. "Could we get two of them?" She asked, pulling out her wallet to hand the employee some money.
Kiessi watched as two teenage girls were hovering near a booth filled with chocolate bats. They watched, a large blue eye staring at the treats. One of them looked down to see the freshling and smiled softly. "One for this kid too." She stated, pulling out more coin from her wallet.
"Oh really? That's awesome!" Kiessi exclaimed, thanking the girl as a bat was handed to them.
"Oh man, those do look pretty good!" Kara smiled and took the offered bat, placing it carefully inside her pail.
Sneaking about, Anara's head peered over another booth from behind the attendants. Right as one of them reached for a plushie bat to give a new kid, she yoinked it as quickly as she could when their head turned to address them. She smirked, skirting off to another victim.
Callessa jogged back just in time to see her friends standing aside. "My turn, huh?" She stepped forward and stuck her hand into the waiting box.
Huh. This was an interesting texture. Slimy. Definitely slimy. And also square and ropy. But it wasn't noodles--this one crumbled too much, and anyway, hadn't they done those earlier? Well, there was only one thing she could think of like this. "Is it the inside scrapings of a pumpkin?"
The Chimera nodded. "Sure is! What would you like for a prize?"
Cal shrugged. "Have you got any of those bracelets?"
"Orange, green, purple--"
"Orange, please." Cal slid the cheap bracelet onto her wrist. It was rather nice, actually! "Thank you!"
Technically it was supposed to be Eidil's turn to guess the object, but Eidil had gotten distracted talking to a couple of "cute" juniors who had been walking past. One of them, an Imp, was eliciting squeals of laughter from the otherwise quite smart girl. Teo sighed. Teenagers were weird.
He stepped up to the box and felt around inside. It felt like...hm..."I think it might be quilt batting?" he asked the adult.
The adult opened the box once again, but had to snap her fingers to get the attention of one of the girls. From the sound of it, the adult had claws. He wondered if she might be a Litch, then? "I think that should earn you another plush," she said. "What would you like?"
Teo shrugged. He tugged Eidil's sleeve. "Could you pick out a plushie for me?"
Eidil blinked. Pick out a plushie? For Teo? Oh my, but that was a noble and heavy task he had placed on her shoulders! She hesitated and stared at the options. Mostly it was bats. But she could see some orange things in plastic wrap at the back of the tent. "What's in those?" she asked.
"They're pillow pets," the Chimera said with a shrug. "They haven't been all that popular."
Eidil looked down at Teo, who nodded. "I think that's what I'll pick for him, then." She smiled at the Chimera, at Teo, and at the gaggle of juniors who had not yet left. She blew them a kiss. One of them blushed and dropped something in her bucket. How nice of them! "Thank you!" she called out.
So now it was just Peri, huh? Probably Chries had been trying to find an excuse to get rid of Peri for a while. Oh well. The hybrid shrugged. He was used to such abandonment on a fairly regular basis. He turned back to the cards and started flipping them over. He didn't do quite as well this time, but hey, at least he earned himself a big lollipop!
Still taking bites of her cotton candy as they continued on, she looked to Malachi and asked with a mouthful of sugar "So whatcha think? Do we get tricked or treated this time?" Snickering, she couldn't help wonder what would happen this time... Though she was almost certain as the slipped her hand into the bucket, it would be a trick.
After seeing Hailey munch on her cotton candy, Malachi felt the need to munch on something, too. Most of his treats were things he planned to share with Hailey, so he decided he'd take a small handful of raisins to snack on as he poured a little into his hand. He got a weird look from his friend when she saw him eating a couple raisins, smiling back to her in return before taking his turn.
"... Raisins? Yuuuucky! I've been tricked!" she exclaimed, though with a surprising happy tone and giggle. She stuffed the offending wrinkled old fruits in her bucket and waited to see if she was the only tricked one this time or not.
When Malachi saw the raisins that Hailey got, he was almost a bit excited and thought he might be so lucky... Cotton Candy? For a moment, when Hailey just about started drooling over his treat, he thought about offering to trade her.... but then he decided raisins would be good for her to have. He even decided to try a bite of the cotton candy. It was really sugary!... but still pretty yummy.

Glitch shook their head as they ran as if to shake off the overwhelming thoughts clouding their judgement. Running like this was only making them more disorientated by their surroundings and I'm the process Glitch realized just how lost they made them self be by doing so. Should I just asked to be led to the end by an employee? At this point it might be best.
It hadn't been little over fifteen minutes they spent searching through the maze before they decided this was the best coarse of action. Dreading the turn of the corner knowing that there was likely a scare along with a maze attendant Glitch inched closer to the jump scare they were both aware of was going to come but could do nothing to stop the fright jolting through them.
Meanwhile Sivar found himself lost at every corner getting more and more frustrated at just the same thing.
Sivar: "I'm such a loser, I lost Glitch who I was suppost to take care of, and I made my best friend run off. Nnnn! I hate this stupid holiday!"
But the Holiday didn't hate him. Just as he screamed another maze attraction popped out scaring the boy to wits.
Sivar: "Come on man!" Nearly peeing his pants. "Can you just lead me out of this place already?"
Eidil was once again refusing her turn, leaving Cal to take the next step. She reached into the box and felt the object. She correctly guessed it as a silk flower--a lily of some kind or other, with the plastic removed from it. It was still recognizable by the shape and by the texture, though, which made it an ideal candidate for this game. Cal picked a ghost charm. She could hang them from her ceiling and watch them as she fell asleep tonight.
After that, it was Teo's turn. He was confident that he'd be able to get whatever it was--he hadn't gone wrong since the first box. But this box it seemed was not going to lie down for him. The rough object that he guessed was a piece of hide turned out to be a piece of carpet! He'd been thinking too...rustically. If only he'd flipped it over--but there hadn't been space to flip it over and feel its underside. Huh. Foiled again! But he was given a gummy as a consolation prize, at least...
Eidil was oblivious to the affairs of the games. How could she pay attention to the game when her crush had wandered by? Oh, that blond hair, that purple tail...she just melted looking at Anchriesel! Why did he have to be so cute? And why couldn't she just summon up the courage to ask him out on a date? But she didn't have the courage. She was just too lovestruck. So lovestruck that she didn't notice when Cal tried to get her attention by dropping a rock in her bucket.
Ugh! It seemed that Anchriesel had been his fricking good luck charm, because now that he was gone, Peri's luck was spiraling down the toilet! The next round all he managed to get was a lousy poo-shaped gummy. Most people would think that Peri was amused by this. He was not. Immature, crazy, evil, mean, nutso, jerk he might be, but "amused by potty humor"? Heck, no!
Her latest adventure had won her a plushie to add to the growing collection, and in addition she also had gotten some gum! It didn't look all that appetizing however...

Odessa had somehow managed to lose Kara in the crowd. She frowned and wandered close to the edge, looking around for her but seeing no sign. She mused, continuing to look when she noticed she migrated to a new line by accident, the attendant catching her attention and handing her a caramel apple. "Ohh... thanks!" She gave an apologetic smile for holding up the line.
It wouldn't hurt if they took just one piece of candy to eat, right? Well, they wouldn't tell their mother... of course... As Kiessi went to reach in, they felt a small p***k on one of their fingers. "Owww!" They glanced in, blinking when they saw a flitterat in their pail!
It had taken Kara some time, but she had finally managed to get through the crowd to find Odessa on the other side. "Hey, sorry I got lost back there! I got cut off some ways back." She offered Odessa a small smile.
Anara was skirting around the outside of another booth, trying to figure out how to steal some more candy, the crowds around it were rather dense. She frowned, moving closer to examine the area when she heard a voice, "Hey kid, want some candy?"
She blinked, jumping somewhat and quickly nodded her head. The guy smiled and deposited a bag of chocolate skulls into her bucket.
Verve continued gathering whatever goodies were afforded her. And wouldn't you know it, she went for another bracelet. A different colored one this time.
Charmstar was lucky that he hadn't been tricked yet. He managed to get a bag of skulls, chocolate skulls to keep his sugar skull company.
Mytrax was not a very lucky chimera. Her second attempt at getting treats resulted in a healthy snack. Oh and a plushie? Huh, not too bad then.
The next booth over was giving out some treats just for showing up to the festival. Elliah made her way over there and picked out a cute black and orange nezubat plush to go with the orange and black one she already had. As a bonus, they gave her a choice between some raisins or some candy. Not liking the look of the candy, she took the box of raisins. "Thank you," she told them happily.
Glancing around to see what the rest of the booths in this area were like, Elliah was a bit unhappy to see half of them were already packing up for the end of the festival. Apparently they had already finished handing out all their treats. She was worried that there wouldn't be many good treats left for her if she didn't hurry up. Hopefully there would be a few that still had something good left.

The next house Pepper went to trick or treat at was handing out some old gross candy. On one of them, the wrapper was half off and stuck to her hand. She thanked them, as she always did, but as soon as she turned her back she made a grossed out noise. Ick! Whoever thought it was a good idea to keep giving this kind of candy out was just a mean and thoughtless person. Didn't they ever try the candy themselves or did they just get too much candy one year and then keep giving it out the next year too. Ugh!
While she was wiping her hand off on her skirt, one of the older kids approached her. "Here, I know that old geezer isn't giving out very good treats. Have one of these." They handed her an orange and black bat plush, which was a big improvement from the nasty candy. "Thank you very much!" she chimed, visibly brightening. This was much better. Looking in her bucket, she wondered how many different kinds of these bat plushes there were. She already had five of them!

As Vüsala looked around for a likely place to get something good, he noticed a booth that was giving out little paper ghost dolls. That ought to be a fun decoration that Kanda would like, right? The chimera approached the table, letting the kid pick out something first. He grabbed one with a silly expression on it, moving to tuck it into his pail only to feel something sniffing his hand.
Startled, he pulled the pail into view and caught sight of a larger than average flitterrat poking it's head out of his pail. With an alarmed yelp, he flinched and ended up tossing his bucket behind him, where it landed on an unfortunate baphomet who had also been at the stall. Whipping around, he ended up knocking over the entire stall with his tail. "Ah nine, I am so sorry," he addressed her and the stall-keeper as he saw he'd hit someone. "Are you alright? " The question sounded calm enough, though his nervous glancing about for the flitterrat revealed his true emotion. As he went to pick everything up, he didn't notice he grabbed himself a creepy turnip rather than the doll he'd initially picked up.

Hikito had not been allowed to go with the other freshlings down to the festival. He had made a big mess in the art studio earlier that day, and thus had been grounded. That had not stopped him from waiting until everyone had gone down to the festival and then going himself. He'd scrounged himself up a cape and some 'fancy' clothes and gone down as a vampire. His fang-like teeth were useful to have for things like this!
Pleased he had managed to get past the caretakers, Hikito hiked to the nearest booth that were giving things out and got himself a pumpkin. "An orange one!" he told the lady sitting there. "Cuz' pumpkins are orange and not all those other weird colors." Giving him an indulgent smile, she handed over the one he pointed too, dropping in a box of raisins as well. "What're the raisins for? We're supposed to get candy tonight, not healthy stuff!" he told her with an aggravated huff. Before she could answer, he turned and stormed off. He was going to get himself some real candy!

For good measure, Artemis plucked another paper ghost -- this one with a less gleeful expression. Perhaps if she were able to collect a few more, she might use them as markers on her door in place of Do Not Disturb signs to show what kind of mood she was in before people bothered approaching. A face like this one ought to keep people away if she was in a foul state or trick them into not bothering her while she was deep in her artwork.
Of course, while she was thinking to herself that meant Artemis was thoroughly distracted and she didn't have time to catch herself while getting bumped into. The baphomet fumbled, her knees caught the floor and a soft tearing sound was muffled by all of the other noise. Artemis huffed and looked at her hands -- the palms were a little skinned, as were her knees, and her skirt earned a few fresh holes.
"It's alright," she responded while picking up her own dropped items and being careful not to accidentally take any of theirs. "What about you? All in one piece?"
Still giving Malachi a pouty face as the continued their journey to the next stop, she couldn't help pondering on how she might snitch the cotton candy later on. She felt bad for it, but hnnnng... she couldn't help herself. "Tooooot tooooot! Next stop!" she let out as she stopped by an interesting looking bowl. "Hmm... What tricks to you hold for me?" Hailey asked the bowl before taking her chance
The face Hailey was giving him was making Malachi feel really bad. He didn't want to be stingy, but he really wanted his cotton candy! Plus... Well she already got some! Yup! He was going to try to hold onto that... not that it would last long... Giggling as they stopped, he also took his chance, curious if it would be tricks or treats.
"... Ewww... Not this stuff..." Hailey whined as she pulled out a pack of that one kind of gum. "Groooooss!" she said with a laugh. The potential for using it for eviiiiiil was there, but that so meant having to chew it. Hmmm... dilemma! Pondering the risk of using it, Hailey snickered and dropped it in her bucket.
Oh gosh! Another poo! Malachi couldn't help gagging some as he looked at the green poo gummy in his hand. So, so nasty. Yes, it was still candy, but mind over matter wasn't going to allow him to eat these things. That was a fact! And as he was thinking about how gross this was, the sound over wings nearby caught his attention! Malachi looked about wanting to find a cause. A bat! Those were bat wing sounds! With wide, excited eyes, he chased after the little creature and grinned. He really liked bats and this was a great chance to learn more about them first hand!

Dodger always managed to be late to the fun stuff it seemed, but that didn't stop the Grimm from finally getting out to do some Trick-or-Treating! All dressed up in his punk rock drummer get-up, he started his mission. "All the candy, dude. All the candy!" and with a grin while ignoring one of those 'You look too old for this sort of thing' looks, he made his first stop! "Trick or treat! he shouted to himself before taking his chance at candy.
"Huh... " he said plainly at the glove of popcorn. He looked it over, trying to decide if he'd even eat it. Taking a sniff, he gave a weird yowling sound coupled with a laugh. "Wow... this does not seem fresh!" ... but... popcorn... So he stuffed it in his t-o-t bucket. "Oh hey!" he exclaimed as a little green cat plush was stuck to the popcorn, making it difficult at first. "You... you are lucky I like cats" he said, most amused with himself before managing to get both in the bucket
