Two monks were making a pilgrimage to venerate the relics of a great Saint. During the course of their journey, they came to a river where they met a beautiful young woman -- an apparently worldly creature, dressed in expensive finery and with her hair done up in the latest fashion. She was afraid of the current and afraid of ruining her lovely clothing, so asked the brothers if they might carry her across the river.

The younger and more exacting of the brothers was offended at the very idea and turned away with an attitude of disgust. The older brother didn't hesitate, and quickly picked the woman up on his shoulders, carried her across the river, and set her down on the other side. She thanked him and went on her way, and the brother waded back through the waters.

The monks resumed their walk, the older one in perfect equanimity and enjoying the beautiful countryside, while the younger one grew more and more brooding and distracted, so much so that he could keep his silence no longer and suddenly burst out, "Brother, we are taught to avoid contact with women, and there you were, not just touching a woman, but carrying her on your shoulders!"

The older monk looked at the younger with a loving, pitiful smile and said, "Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river; you are still carrying her."

As someone who's been in this thread over a year now, I'm appalled. I just red pages and pages of pointless argument, as well as many which lead up to Minky leaving us.

I do not blame Outai for Minky leaving, I think it was a number of things. People asking that she stopped killing and so on. As a creeper, Killing is what Minky does best. It is fun to watch, and those who die don't complain. No one really gets hurt, and it's all just in fun. Minky was an important friend to us all, even those of us who didn't know her well such as myself. The fact that she's gone is certainly devastating to our little community here, but blaming any one person is not just.

Something however, what sickens me the most, is the selfishness that I saw demonstrated in Outai's postes which I read. Outai, I don't know if you'll read this, and I'm sure if you do it'll cause more drama and you'll block me. But I have to say something. I understand that people keeping their word is important, and that even the simplest forms of trust are easily broken. That something even as simple as an online RP can mean a lot between friends. But in all reason and logic, it doesn't matter as much as that friendship itself. Being resurrected in RP is not at all worth arguing about and losing the friendships you so apparently cherish, and on top of that, in reality, no one went back on their word. You would of been healed and brought back as soon as the strike is over. All you had to do was wait for a little while, or accept their choice and find another way to come back. It's not as if they weren't going to ever bring you back, leaving you dead and cut out from all the fun. You were not the only one still dead either, and the situation is about more than just yourself. It's about maintaining the friendship and bonds we have found here. And that includes Minky. People are staying dead of their own will in this regard, to try and get a friend back. I feel that by not being willing to wait, and reacting in the way that you did towards the others of this thread, those whom called you their friend, was very selfish and unreasonable. I deeply feel that you over reacted and that is why people got so mad at you. In what I saw, Outai, it was you who started using caps and calling names before any of the others, whom were trying to reason with you and understand. You are always welcome to your opinion Outai, but all anyone ever wanted was for you to consider how you said it. The way you went about things hurt others, and was far more harsh than you may have intended; assuming that people were "Jumping on your back" as it were, when all I saw was them disagreeing and trying to reason when you were, for lack of a better phrase, freaking out. It was rash behavior that I'm appalled to see from anyone I call dear. I'm tired of all the drama, and of all the figting. Outai, when you left I MISSED you, we even talked a bit via PM, if you remember that at all. You're on my friends list and even now with my disappointment I would still like to call you friend... but I also wish for you to understand and let bygones be bygones.. perhaps even learn from the things that have happened here.

In spite of all of this. The drama, the awkward feelings left. I do not want a thread divided. Nor do I want to see more people leave. So, in my own form of protest, I will not be leaving this thread. It holds too much history for us all, be it good or bad, just for it to simply be forgotten and left to die.
