@ Strega Mama: Sweet bead! I love the skull and flowers. (It's great without trying to be girly.) How did you make it?

@ Sunset: It hasn't been too bad - except today I did wear a toque... in the house. xd Went for a walk yesterday - the sun on your scalp is very.. interesting. I had this one little boy gape jaw at me. Today I was going up some stairs shopping and a little girl stared at me gape jawed. Other than that, it's been good. I totally thought I'd be more self conscious.

@ Teh_plague: I really hope you have good news this week about your ear. I can't imagine what you're going through.

Lol, we're hair siblings. heart

@ wolfen26: OH HAI! Yeah, this thread does get it's growth spurts. Sometimes I leave for a day and BOOM! two pages. Please share your bread tips and recipes. I would love to make my own. No TV is a blessing. Last year we only had 1 hour of a DVD a day - it was great and both the boyfriend and I enjoyed it more than TV. Living with the in-laws here and the TV is always on and we've been sucked in. Blech!

@ Ta Lu: Getting out there will get you more confident. It's one of those practice makes perfect things. Trust me. 3nodding

Last year I had oodles of sunflower seeds and took advantage of the seed scattering.

Oh, those trees: awesome. cool

Well, so far as the bread making goes, I am in on the entry level for now, bread maker fits more of my lifestyle. Picked one up at Goodwill a few weeks back. BEST $4 I HAVE EVER SPENT! And I found the instruction manual online for free. Not a bad deal really. I will probably make more of my own when I can, but for now this works.

Instead of watching tv these days, Youtube has been my biggest source for fun. I have picked up a lot of educational videos on there about food storage and prepping. Otherwise I am lucky to touch the TV every few weeks, if that. Just the past few years, I have been on a hungry to learn kick. This summer I want to get out and do stuff and learn stuff.

@Pirhan: OMG the hair! heart Thanks for posting the photos- you brightened my day.

@Teh_Plague: Hopefully the specialist has some insight. Great news about the job, though. At least you will have some income while you look for something else. (Just assuming that you are looking for something else because you don't sound happy with the current place anymore. I wouldn't be, either.)

@Wolfen26: Welcome back! No tv sounds wonderful. I lived without tv for a short time in college and my grades improved drastically. My parents came to stay with me for a while and missed not having a tv, so they bought me one. I got sucked into watching the local news and it was all downhill from there. Since I didn't have internet (until I got an iPhone and had access through it) I guess it is well that I had at least some way to get weather and news.

Speaking of no internet, my laptop seems to have gone into meltdown mode. I think the cooling fan motor has burned out. While I was able to save my data, there is no telling how long it might take for it to be repaired. It is a brand made in the U.S., but if the replacement parts come from Japan the wait for repair parts could be indefinate. I heard people are having problems getting car parts already. Such a terrible tradgedy. I'm a bit surprised nobody started a thread debating the merits of different types of energy sources. (Have we done that topic to death?)
So, my "dream job" turned out not to have been meant to be. For financial reasons, I could only afford to work in the field if this particular place had hired me. Adjusted my dream accordingly. I did hear back from someplace else that I applied to on a whim after finding out about the other one. They actually do want to hear more from me. It is something I had never really seriously considered, but the more I think about it the more I am interested. The hours would probably be pretty flexible, so I could spend some time doing more meaningful volunteer work. For the past several years my insane schedules have prevented me from being able to commit to something largescale and I miss being able to. I suppose some dreams die for a reason.

Today, I head-desked after my laptop right side audio died.

Not only did my speakers on my laptop die last year.

But now....I listen to everything with one ear.

-_- *heavy sigh* I guess that is to be expected for a 5 year old computer.

Anyone know a good way to properly get rid of an old lap top?

@ wolfen26: I just clued in that you created this thread. xD I love second hand finds. <3

@ dragon_of_emry: No worries. My brother in law came over and I got to show him the new cut. I had my wig on and made him try it on. He... really... liked it. Lol.

That sucks about the job. I am in the mindset that stuff does happen for a reason. I hope that while this isn't going your way, it'll lead to something that will. heart

@ Strega Mama: Cool! I have a friend that is really, I mean really into Warhammer. You should try making extra beads and sell them on Etsy or something.

@ Teh_plague: Thinking good thoughts for you!

@ Ta Lu: My laptop does the one speaker thing all the time - though it's a Mac/Skype issue. It's so annoying to be on a Skype call and only get sound from one year. (Especially with the sound being really tin-y already.) My laptop is going on six - thankfully he's still kicking. If you need to dispose of yours, I know places here in Canada like Future Shop will take them back. Maybe try Best Buy if you're in the States?

I did a Google search for "recycle laptop" and came up with quite a few Canadian sites. Try it where you are and see if you get any local hits.

Didn't do much today. Went out for dinner ... ugh. 99% of restaurants offer junky food so I don't feel the greatest. I thought I'd be safe with bread, garlic and fig paste appetizer, boy, was I wrong.

My mother in law keeps mentioning cancer patients, their hair (and how it's okay to have short hair these days) and how they wear handkerchiefs. That's nice, but I don't know why she's telling me. (Well, I do, it's because I have "cancer" hair.) *facepalm*

@pirhan ive already had a fellow dreadie offer me a craft trade, she sent me a set of belly beads in exchange for one.

Cancer hair? rofl Maybe you should bug her more and dye it. Jking.

At least now you can wear awesome hats you probably wearing able to with long hair.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 23, 2011 2:54 pm

xD And yes, I have hats! It snowed like a foot today, so yeah, I'm glad I have them.

Bones, my cat, had to go to the vet again today regarding his a**l glands. I was there before and they have a cat named Nelson who only has three legs. As we were leaving, Nelson had an itch and was scratching it with his ghost leg. Totally adorably but so sad. (He lost the leg in August.)

So this time 'round, I made him a little cat toy. HE LOVED IT. It was soppy and wet when we left. The vet told us that Nelson didn't have his own toys (he plays with the dogs) so the toy I made him is his First Toy Ever. crying crying crying crying

Home from the doctors, spent a good while having large amounts of gunk removed from the ear(s) turns out the one that's been giving me all this trouble has healed the rupture so well that theres no visible sign that it ruptured in the first place, However i have a type of fungal infection in my ears that can't be treated with antibiotics because it is a fungus and not a virus. So yeah now i've got the appropriate medication to deal with it and a series of follow up appointments to continue cleaning out the infection as it is killed off layer by layer.
So once a week for the next couple of weeks i have to go see an ent. Plus i've got drops for my ears that i do 3 times a day.

Finally getting this fixed so happy lol.

THAT IS AWESOME.

I'm so happy that it got sorted out AND that you don't have any damage.

(Maybe with all that gunk now removed you can spruce it up with a coat of paint, some furniture and find a tiny person that could rent it to.)
PostPosted: Wed Mar 23, 2011 6:20 pm

@pirhan: It is awesome lol. I wouldn't want to rent it out though i'd hate the responsibility of being a landlord and having to badger a lazy tenant to pay his rent on time.

He also informed me that i snore because my tonsils and uvula are abnormally large but its not a medical problem just an annoyance for others lol.

To top off my fantastic day it snowed which is somewhat unfortunate but i would rather it snow than rain any more (flooding of the nearby river has begun as well as a leak in the wall in the basement) So when it stops raining i've got a fun new project called sealing the basement walls lol, and i need to replace a wax ring under a toilet that seems to be seriously eroded and is causing blue toilet water to stain the floor.

Just got back from the consignment shop down the street and ended up with 2 pairs of jeans, 2 shirts, and a pair of designer flip flops all for the price of $18.96. Saving the world one cheap designer outfit at a time.
