Tegral I call BS on that one. It's been a mainstay in the US armament since it's introduction of service. It's still a perfectly fit and capable weapon...as for the RPG? razz RPG-7 training, mofrackie!!
But yeah, if they DO replace the .50 it's likely to still remain in service as the 'standard' or the 'stock' weapon, simply because we can chug em out so fast and a good 90% of our armed forces are trained on it. My take would be that they are thinking about it. When it might happen is another story all together. Hell it took them years to move away from the 1911 and some people are moving back cause they don't like the 92f (9mm). I can't blame them. I prefer my Sigarms 226 (.40).

Somehow, and I suspect like many others here, I just can't truly ever bring myself to ever leave this place.
