I feel so old. Showed that picture and a trailer to the movie to my buddy's little brother, like 8, and looked at me, in all seriousness, and said, "That looks like the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Where's all the special effects?" Well, Derrek, there they are, the dirigible blowing up and him flying through the sky like that are the special effects, cutting edge stuff when the movie first came out. "Man those effects stink!! Iron man was way cooler!"
gonk The youth, they're retarded...the future is screwed!

I know he's young, Thanatos, I took that into consideration...but that movie's a classic! Like they know what ******** Bambi was but not The Rocketeer?

Its awesomeness is above his comprehension. A lot of the older movies will be. He just can't appriciate them yet, and if he keeps that attitude, he never will. neutral You show that boy all the classics until he gets it. 3nodding
Show him a few oldies that were based on true stories or something just to get him primed. xp I'll suggest October Sky, no fancy special effects in that either.

Eh, maybe if it were MY brother, but it's not worth the aggravation. Luckily, however, my brothers and I all grew up on the classic oldie movies and we loved 'em.

There were a lot of old shitty movies too; people just forget about them. It's kinda the same as today, really, just a lot more overall are being produced.

My faves:
-Hitchcock's: North by Northwest, Vertigo and Rear Window (Which Disturbia was based off of)
- It's a Wonderful Life (I like my Feel Good Movies)
-Captain Blood
-Singing in the Rain
-Casablanca
-Top Hat
....there's more I just can't remember them all.

Only one on that list I recognize is Casablanca. It's a wonderful life sounds familiar too, but that's probably only because they remind me of Wittgenstein's last words.
