Makes sense to me.

That be a little difficult for either Epsilon or Gamma to do. Helmets and all blocking everything; but I do think they have a food tube to eat paste or something else that's all futristic in space type deal.

Jonath Nell
Well basically it is a move I guess...
Though I figured I should add it in there since my character did use it the first time he fought.

Forgive me for my insolence, master of 'a move', but...

I don't believe in moves that "stab you in a number of strategic places". All attacks made against me must have a specific number, attack type, and target. "I hit you 100 times in 1 seconds" are grounds for instant teabagging, because you don't deserve to live.

Darshendros the Eternal
He does a killer moonwalk too. xd

If we go against Dragonforce, I challenge you to a breakdance fight.

I'll headspin my way into the fans' hearts.

First of all the number of hits is only as high as 5 or 6 if they are all succsessful and yes each stab has a specific target and as far as type, they are really all stabs. Oh and how long it takes, I guess that all really depends on how injured I am before I use it.

Im not a big fan of the move list approach considering I dont really have time to illustrate and describe 30 fighting stances and striking styles not mention variations on forms and of couse character based improvisations, theres not real 'power up' for me though so perhaps thats my biggest failing...

But then again I did just type out 4000 words for a magic system Ive used so rarely over the last almost 4 years most people forget My character can even do that s**t...

I don't believe in moves that "stab you in a number of strategic places".

yes each stab has a specific target

What I meant to say was: "Thou shalt not 'attack me' without being clear about how the attack is carried out". I've had people try before with "he performs an 8 hit combo" and I just had to cringe. I care little for how many strikes were made if none of them can possibly work.

MOVELIST FORMAT
Adapted from the original example by VAHN KYONUSKE

Intro Poses
All intro poses are followed by tossing the black cloak offscreen with the right hand.
  • vs. NPC : Right hand tugs on the cloth bracer on the left arm, as the left hand rolls backwards to crack the joint.
  • vs. Semaj : Turns his back to the opponent and folds his arms over his chest, looking back over his shoulder.
  • vs. Sey : Facepalms.
  • vs. Maximos : Thumbs hooked into pants pockets, elbows cocked out, with the head hanging down slightly; giving a glare.

Victory Poses
  • vs. NPC : Cracks knuckles.
  • vs. Semaj : Raises a clenched fist that begins to glow with a pale red energy that rises like flame off of it.
  • vs. Sey : Reaches up and smacks himself on the back of the head.
  • vs. Maximos : Rubs the back of his forearm across his chin.

End of Battle Victory Quotes
  • vs. NPC : "Next time, forget about glory and run for your life."
  • vs. NPC : "Thank whatever god you worship that I promised myself I wouldn't kill you."
  • vs. NPC : "The hero only slays the monster in children's stories."
  • vs. Semaj : "Your heart just isn't in the right place for this..."
  • vs. Sey : "Go home, little girl."
  • vs. Maximos : "... I'm still not satisfied."

=======================
Stances
=======================

Standing
  • Standing - Left foot forwards, knees slightly bent. The right arm bent slightly with the hand held just below the stomach, the left arm out in front with the forearm raised vertically.

  • Crouching - Right knee down with the right hand touching the ground beside it. The left arm extended in front, with the hand a few inches off from the ground.

  • Jumping - Knees pulled up, legs bent, with the left arm held in front with the forearm bent to point straight out.

Guarding
  • High Guard - The left forearm turns so that it is held horizontally, and the elbow raises slightly.

  • Low Guard - The left arm raises up to protect the head and shoulder area with a vertically held forearm.

  • Air Guard - The left forearm comes across to cover the head and shoulder, and the left knee raises up to cover the body.

=======================
Basic
=======================

Weak Punch
  • Standing - Steps forwards slightly with the left foot as the left hand snaps out to strike the opponent with the back of a fist.
Medium reach, low power, high speed. Advances the character slightly.

  • Crouching - The left arm snaps upwards, rotating in around the elbow to deliver a quick backhand snap with the knuckles.
Medium reach, low power, medium speed.

  • Jumping - The left elbow snaps out from chest level.
Short reach, low power, high speed.

  • Close - The left forearm comes in quickly and the elbow drives straight upwards.
Short reach, low power, high speed.

Weak Kick
  • Standing - The left leg snaps out quickly with a short hop forwards.
Short reach, low power, high speed. Hits low. Advances the character slightly.

  • Crouching - The front foot snaps out across the ground.
Medium reach, low power, high speed.

  • Jumping - Strikes quickly with the front knee.
Short reach, low power, high speed.

  • Diagonal & Short Jumping - The left leg snaps out in a quick side kick directed at the gut or knee, used for knocking their feet out from under them.
Medium reach, low power, high speed. Knockdown effect.

  • Close - A quick upwards snap with the knee.
Short reach, low power, medium speed.

Strong Punch
  • Standing - The left forearm rotates in and the right hand comes up. The right hand catches the left fist, and with a short hop forwards, drives the elbow to the front.
Medium reach, medium power, medium speed.

  • Crouching - A rising uppercut, which rises high enough to strike a jumping opponent, but still hits a crouching one.
Short reach, high power, medium speed. Launch effect. Hits crouching, standing, and jumping opponents; can be guarded by Low Guard and Air Guard.

  • Jumping - The upperbody shifts forwards a little to deliver a strong downwards left hook.
Medium reach, high power, low speed.

  • Close - A fierce headbutt, which comes out fast and can stun an opponent.
Short reach, high power, high speed.

Strong Kick
  • Standing - Heavy side kick with the right leg; carried out by stepping forwards with the right and pivoting on the left foot. At short ranges the knee strikes the opponent as it comes across, at longer ranges the heel hits. After the kick the leg comes straight down, rather than coming back; this causes a full step of advancement and puts the right side forwards (and remains this way until a back step, a jump, a knockdown, a standing strong kick, or a special move; reverse all left/right directions for ordinary moves during this time).
Long reach, high power, medium speed. Advances the character. Results in Right Side Stance.

  • Crouching - The upperbody twists around to plant both hands firmly on the ground, and both legs snap up in a double heel kick that can launch an opponent into the air, the same as an uppercut.
Long reach, high power, medium speed. Launch effect. Hits crouching, standing, and jumping opponents; can be guarded from all stances.

  • Jumping - Both knees tuck in against the chest, and then thrust forwards and down in a double foot stomp. Ineffective as an air counter.
Medium reach, high power, medium speed. Will not hit jumping opponents.

  • Diagonal & Short Jumping - The upperbody shifts back and the left leg snaps out sharply to deliver a fast and powerful heel. Long reach and high execution speed make this move a much loved opener.
Long reach, high power, high speed.

  • Close - A rising right knee.
Short reach, medium power, medium speed.

Taunt
The left hand taps twice on the forehead, then raises up in a flipping salute.

Emergency Attack Avoidance Forward/Back
Used to avoid attacks: the right foot steps towards the character's back, then the left foot picks up and steps around the right, rotating clockwise. The character moves backwards and to the opponent's right one step, and switches to a Right Side Stance.

Guard Knockdown Attack
The right leg steps back and bends, the left stays in place. Both hands are brought towards the stomach, and then both hands shove forwards quickly in a double palm strike as the character shoots forwards onto his left leg again.
Long Reach, high power, low speed. Knockdown, Knockback, and Guard Break effects.
