I think you and I both know that this sort of career is a craps shoot, but if it's something you're willing to pursue, I strongly advise you keep at it through highs and lows. It will likely cycle through these. Sticking to song writing by itself, no, but maintaining it as one of the things you do would be the best course of action. Now, my suggesting you depend solely on song writing would be unfair to you and false - I would suggest that you keep practicing with that and music in general, because things can change at the flip of a hat.

Is this job worth the risk of a new residence? Is it romance backing this? Examine what options you have while you're mulling over this decision. Is there a better alternative that wasn't explored? How will this choice ultimately affect you?

Wow, talk about a mean card saying that you need to stop waffling and trust that you can make a decision based on what you know and feel. But, while this reading leans the house wife, that's only what it's saying now as to what you feel and think. There's a lot going on in your life, based on what I can gather from the question and the card, so there's an obvious sense of feeling forced to make a decision - and yet you must make that decision with the information that will make it so that you make what will ultimately be the best decision for you. Ultimately, that answer you have may change. Maybe you might find yourself being really good at playing guitar for a Metallica cover band. But you have to make an informed choice here and now.

Sometimes, a family's disappointment may not be based on shame coming to the family name, but the thought that you might not be utilizing your skills to your best. It's possible that they also have an understanding that what you're getting into is a chance game, just like with my using the dice to do tarot readings and how I've ended up having two cards show up twice in the readings I've been giving out for this event. Things can change for the worse or better - we never know which, only that change is the only constant. Your goals may have to change out of necessity. I think putting it simply will work best here - it's not worth the hassle. You may have other things on your plate that require more attention than picking up two pets. It's not the kindest answer I can give, but I get the sense that need more of your focus rather than being distracted with new things being tossed into your life.

Okay - this is not going to be a fun answer to type, but while you should speak your mind, you also need to start speaking with balance in your rhetoric. Take the viewpoints of your friends and find how you can help them understand your views so that they don't make things for the worse. Aim for making the relationships better while helping them understand your own views.
You may feel (or objectively know) their views to be wrong but that doesn't require the loss of a friendship.
