She reached her hand in the next box and felt around. Hm, squishy, but not slimy. Okay, what could it be...Oh, wait! It was sticky! "Is it a gel window cling?"
The Chimera nodded and opened the box. "Yes, it is! Would you like another bat?"
"I think I've got quite the roost already. Oh, you mean a stuffed one? Eidil laughed. "Sure! The green and purple one, please?"
Teo gestured for Cal to take her turn, but she shook her head. "I'm going to take the pumpkas back to Mom's booth. I'll be right back." She ruffled her brother's hair, picked up the pumpkins, and jogged away. Another turnip
Okay, so his sister was away now. What number box were they on? Ten or so? He still wondered how many boxes she had. But now was the time to feel, not to ask. He stuck his hand in the box and felt around. Hard, but brittle. Very brittle. "I think it's plaster," he said.
"Yep, yep! What would you like as your treat?"
Teo considered it. "Do you have any lollipops?"
"We've got a few left. Here you go!" She handed him a lollipop, which he tucked gently in his own bucket.
Xenophon was practically asleep by the time they reached the end of the park. An adult cooed at them and tried to hand Xeno another plushie. Jurvik intercepted it and stuffed it into his son's already-crammed bucket. Huh boy. He was going to have a sugar high tomorrow like nobody's business.
He was really looking forward to it.
"I think that's about it for us," Bath told the game master. "Thanks for the games, but I think it's time we head home."
Bath shepherded both his friend and his new cat out of the park. As they walked, he picked out every piece of candy that had made its way into his bucket, including a piece of cotton candy someone had handed him. He put it all in Foras's bucket, making sure that the kid had all of his plushies.
"Happy Haunted Hallow, Foras," he murmured. With cat and freshling in tow, he headed back to campus for, hopefully, a night that involved nothing more frightening than giving a very filthy cat a bath.
Chries shook himself out. He didn't like getting frustrated or angry. It wasn't really like him. He preferred to think of himself as calm. For one thing, calm made it easier to think. For another, it used up less energy.
"I think this is going to be my last game," he told Perigor as he selected his first card. He decided to do something different this round--he wouldn't look at the cards as well. It would--hopefully--keep his blood pressure down. The game master clapped and he turned around. Two pumpkins, two cauldrons, and two bats! Not bad!
"That's another bat," the lady said. "What would you like?"
Chries considered the options. Why were there no yellow ones? "Um, green and purple, I think." He looked over at Perigor.
What was he looking at Peri for? Peri waved him off. "You go. I'm gonna stay. I've still got a few more rounds of this I'd like to try." He waved as the junior slunk off with his prizes in tow. Meanwhile, Peri flipped over cards. He nodded in approval--two pairs matched. "I'll take a scream bar, I think."
Nearly at the bottom of the stairs, and now the house had filled with an incessant wailing sound that filled the air. Lights were flashing on and off in the corridor. Quilo looked around wildly. Where should he go? Where should he go? What about the kitchen?
There was a groaning sound coming from the kitchen, and a long, slow, scraping sound.
Nope. Through the back of the house it was! The back rooms were decorated with skeletons and flashing blacklights. The screaming sounds were louder, more angry, and was that a, um, rubber head hanging from the ceiling?!
As the night was growing on, Odessa couldn't help but feel her stomach rumble slightly, she had been at this for a couple hours now. So she reached into her bucket and pulled out a lollipop and gave it a lick. "Mmmm... How do they make candy this good?"
How lucky was this! Kiessi had somehow actually managed to snag a real nezubat!
Though Kara knew it was a rhetorical statement, she just kind of smirked, shaking her head back and forth. "You know.. you really shouldn't do that, it's not exactly healthy to eat candy on an empty stomach." Odessa managed to wrinkle her nose at her and Kara just laughed. "Seriously though.. we should find some food when this is over."
Anara was stumbling through another crowd when she noticed that one of the girls had a cute little lollipop. She felt her stomach rumble and she knew instantly she had to find one! Using her amazing stealth skills, she wandered around until she found a booth, expertly relieving them of one of their prized possessions....

Humming softly to herself, Elliah looked around to see what other games were in the area. A couple were around, but they looked as if every nightmare that had come this way had gone through them. Shaking her head, she aimed to visit one of the booths that didn't look as picked over.
The game she chose was a knock the bottle over kind. There were three bottles stacked atop one another and all she had to do was knock them over to win herself a prize. Hefting the ball in her right hand, she tossed it over. The topmost bottle clattered over and she couldn't help the excited yell she made. "Whoops!" covering her mouth, she bashfully apologized to the geist who was giving her a dirty look. Her next throw knocked over a second bottle, but she missed the last one. She had managed to win some candy and a plush. Pleased, she held out her pail. The orange and black nezubat plush was appreciated, but the pack of nastee gum that was tossed in with it was not. Gross. Didn't anyone know that stuff tasted like it had been found in your couch after months? That would be tossed as soon as she found a trash can out of sight.

Deciding that she would keep the fox no matter what, Pepper slipped her free hand around it, giggling when it licked her face. The thing was about as big as she was and she could probably ride it if it kept still long enough. "What's your name gonna be?" she asked it, wondering aloud. There was also the dilemma of whether it was a boy or a girl. Probably one of the teachers would know. Wasn't there a teacher for magical creatures or something?
Lost in thought, Pepper was startled when someone dropped a nezubat plush into her pail. "Thank you!" she chirped, giving them a bright grin. The next adult-like figure who crossed her path received a "Trick or Treat" request. Happily, they gave her a caramel apple. Those were so good. She liked the kind that had nuts on them the best, but just the plain caramel ones were good too!

Vüsala was less than pleased to be at the festival. He supposed it was part of being a parent. Kanda was sick and would miss out, so she had pleaded him to go in her place and get her some of the prizes and such. He hadn't bothered with a costume, but he had told her he would get her some candy and toys and then left her with his best friend. In return, he'd had to take Saiful's kid out when he went.
The first thing he did as he arrived was grab one of the yellow pumpkin pails. Surprisingly, it was her favorite color. One of the first people he encountered dropped a box of raisins into his pail and that of the kid trailing alongside him. He thanked them quietly, nudging the bapho kid with him to do the same. The next one to drop something into his pail handed over a cute little green and blue bat plush. Vüsala felt much too old to be collecting candy, but for the sake of Kanda. . he would. Besides, none of the stores had had anything good left over to get him out of it.

At this point all three of the Freshling were lost inside the haunted house maze. After a dreadful argument between Sivar and Cossette and Glitch unfortunately getting left behind during a frightful scare it was seemingly left up to Glitch to round up the group back together. Of course at this point Glitch had no idea that both Sivar and Cosette were split up.
Putting on their most serious detective face they had the braved the haunted.maze marathoning through jump scares alike in what seemed like record time. Of course they were scared, but they were more concerned at the time of the other two heading off without them at the end of the maze. If they did that there would be no way to catch up or find them, and they would be forced to go back to their dorm before they could catch the candy coraller.
Now in a much better mood, though bum semi-sore from the fall, Hailey skipped her way to their next stop. For all the gross things they both have gotten so far, there was some pretty awesome things to have been gotten.... Pets included! ... even if Malachi's rat was pretty gross. With that thought crossing her mind, she gave a bit of a look in the rat's direction for a moment. "Next stop time!" she shouted out as she stepped up to the bowl. "So what grossness are the adults going to give us this time?!" she said before dipping her hand in.
Malachi was relieved that Hailey's mood was much improved. She was a very emotional sort which gave cause for some hardship for him at times, but he was always grateful to be able to make her feel much better. He was none-the-wiser to the glancing glare in his pet's direction as he made his way over to the bowl as well, giggling and smiling at her words before doing the same.
Much to her surprise, Hailey pulled out the most delicious looking thing of cotton candy! "Oh my gosh! YUM! I love cotton candy!" she said, not hesitating to take a bit of it. "Mmmm! So yummy!" She was one happy little Geist in that moment.
Pleasantly surprised by his friend's luck, he also pulled his hand out. He was quite happy to see a caramel apple! Those were yummy! Though a bit difficult to eat and he thought eating an apple on a stick always looked a little awkward. Smiling, he placed it in his bucket, ready to see what they would get at the next stop.

xxxx Hermes…. Not so fast we’re missing the fact that people are giving us candy” Baum stated noticing that their pails where slowly getting candy from passing people. Hermes had totally just missed the fact that someone had dropped a caramel apple.
xxxx “Sorry Baum. It’s just there was someone I wanted to see if I could find so that I could introduce you. Its getting so late at the festival that I wanted to catch them before they disappeared. I don’t think I’m going to find them in time though. Let’s try that house.
Of course when they got to the house, no one seemed to answer the door after they rang it. Instead there was a loud screech as a nezubat flew at them, startled out from its resting place. It swooped around them a couple times before totally crawling into Baum’s pail to try resting again.
“Hey Baum you got a nezubat… you totally need to keep it”
Artemis had often missed out on Haunted Hallows celebrations before. Not by anyone keeping her from them and not for lack of interest but she always found herself far too deep into a project and lost track of time. This year, however, the baphomet was determined to at least get a couple of things as a reward for catching up on her school work and personal projects before the festivities began.
She took a small bucket, figuring she wouldn't need much space as she wouldn't be out for very long, and began the search for treats. Lucky for her, some of the treats were creative endeavors in their own right. The paper ghosts free for the taking caught her eye immediately and Artemis plucked the first one that made her smile.
It was now as she traveled furthest away from the park that Yua noted she was probably causing her caretaker some troubles... Oh but, just one more house! Then she'd go back.
This house looked dark, and that everyone was sleeping. But still their was a bucket out front with some assorted candy. Yua picked up one that looked... Poo-like. Gross. But it was in the same bowl as the other candy, so she assumed it was safe.
Moving on Yua started to head back from where she had come. On her way she stopped briefly to pick up a toy that had fallen on the ground. Nobody seemed to want it, so she had taken it upon herself to rescue the poor thing. Into the bucket it went!
