"I see, I see~" Sort of. Just what kind of entity she was speaking to was still quite puzzling to her, not to mention just who it was supposed to be too! And within minutes of meeting already mysterious things were being said. "'Make sure it wasn't'... ?" Some curiosity was bound to be stirred within her, though just how much she was supposed to know was uncertain being that said presence had been quickly ejected from the room the moment they'd offered to talk previously.
With a low hum she decided that keeping questions at a minimum would probably be for the best, in regards to both avoiding distractions and respecting what she interpreted as Erhard's wishes. And more importantly, he'd been seen! Why linger on trifling matters when it seemed she had a lead on his whereabouts? "Yes, please take me there!" It was disconcerting to have the lights out and to see the mechanical monstrosity shed like a skin. But ehh, perhaps it was for the best. Even if it wasn't beyond fixing something like that was probably too creepy to be fixed anyway. Best to leave it be!
And the lack of a reliable light source didn't seem to be much of a problem for someone that resembled a cat entirely too much. "It's a little fuzzy, but I think I'll manage." That was, unless whatever seemed to have activated behind them didn't take her out before she could be of any use. No time to think it over or be curious, just the sudden sound of clicking heels following the blue form in front of her.

"Here, here." It floated back into the lobby and hovered in front of the staircase, completely ignoring the dinging bell. Oh hey, the figure at the counter is gone too. "Over here. I saw him in one of the offices last, but he might have gone off elsewhere in the meantime." So much could be said for someone who was only peeking into the office at said time. "But he's got to be somewhere in this building, right?" Chirpy optimistic little ghost. Now if only that optimism could be translated to light and answers!
Go on. And on. The silence was eating away at them. "I wonder how they're doing.... Say, have you been here a lot, ma'am?" Getting nervous now would do nothing! But maybe chatting with her for a while would. Then maybe she might have some extra food? "Kind of surprised you didn't run away at the door. I guess it's because you want to make sure he's safe, huh. It's okay, I feel the same way." Unsolicited chattering, chattering, chattering. What else could the little wisp do? "Say, you did bring something to whack people with, right? Like an umbrella? Or maybe a raygun! Yeah, those thing would be really effective against any entities that decide to attack!" And of course her newest acquaintance would be off his meds as well. Can't catch a break with the normal fellows, eh?
Off the wisp goes, up the stairwell because who needs staircases when you can float? Just far enough for her to not lose sight, of course. "Up here. Fifth level. Down the hallway, one of the open doors. Be careful, the stairs doesn't reach to the basement!" But she had no use for said basement anyway, even if there was an empty gap in the stairwell from the first floor down. Still not a single lamp to light their way, just that faint blue glow and the red blinking from the cameras.

She was too quick to follow and too unnerved by the ringing to notice that the person she'd pitied previously had gone missing. To her benefit, one'd suppose, as something that disturbing was bound to distract her from her cause. And she wouldn't be left behind. Nope. Not even for a moment! And a feeling of both dismay and amusement rose at the idea of Erhard wandering around. "Just like him, right?" She could hardly complain, really, as that rambling about had a great deal to do with them meeting in the first place. Resolution strengthened, she affirmed what she'd been asked. "Mm. He has to be here somewhere." Whether that was good or bad had yet to be seen. To be trapped in such a place in complete darkness could hardly be described as fun, for certain.
The question she'd been asked concerned her more than it should have, as her reply came in the form of brittle and quick words. "No. No. Not at all." Though her fear concerning the hospital didn't necessarily equal aversion, as the less rigid answer that followed explained. "I wouldn't mind it, visiting more... but I wish to keep the distraction and trouble I cause him at a minimum." If that were even possible. In a way it was all rather contradictory, always wanting to make the best of things but forever unwilling to give up her little space in his life. Quite defensive about it, even, to the point of her more snappy nature being provoked. "Of c-course I wouldn't run away at the door!" The stutter just made it all the more convincing, didn't it? It felt assuring, though, to be told someone else felt similarly. "There's... there's nothing wrong with that, right? Needing to know that he's okay?" Despite how much evidence there seemed to be to the contrary, she still didn't seem to see her actions as wholly wrong. And her skewed morality very much came into play when the subject of violence was at hand. "Ehh~? A raygun?" But not without questioning one of the examples first, it seemed. "It very much depends on what intentions we are to have. I myself am enough to incapacitate most. If we are to kill, I've a few things." It still felt too risky to actually hurt anyone. But, she'd do as she had to, within her own sense of reason anyway. "Still no rayguns, though." Apparently that idea was too ridiculous for even the likes of her.
"Ah, wait!" As she hurried up the stairs it felt very inconvenient to be unable to fly. Though even with her wings out she hardly remembered to anyway. Maybe she'd begin to remember, though, with all of the stairs she'd had to deal with in all of a few hours. So troublesome! And in heels, no less. Just as well. It was pretty unlikely she'd be able to catch anyone unaware anyway any way around it, even in the dark. The sound of hard heels against a hard surface would betray her every time. But finding him took far more precedence over being stealthy, no matter how much that might have aided her task.

"Oh, no! Not at all!" The wisp's sunny laugh drifted from the floor above. "I'd do the same if I were you. I do have someone to take care of as well, so I understand." Slowing down just a little for her to catch up? Was the wisp trying to mock her? "Come on, just a little further. The office is just down that hallway." If the wisp had a hand, it would have been really useful. Which hallway, which branch, which door? Maybe it really was easier to get lost in here than one would assume. Might as well be the gentleman and hold the door open, why not?
Quite normal for her to be wary, this was after all an unfamiliar place, plus its interior has certainly changed. "Okay then. Can I trust you to take care of yourself around here? I could help, but then I'd be in much bigger trouble with my superiors for wrecking the place and going against orders, heh." But just what exactly did she need to be cautious about? That the wisp simply left her to mull over. Surely there would be nothing farfetched from her tomes that would be encountered here. But oh, getting closer and closer to the office, also was the growing stench of sickly sweetness and rending sour. Not so troublesome for the ghost who can't smell, but for her?
Hey, who's to let these two have their little tour all uninterrupted? The one watching the cameras shifts the main view to watch them move up to the office, the cold blue screen lines reflected on those lightless shades. And then he was gone, the security room door swinging ominously in his wake. Now to stop them before they got to the office.

The sound of her steps slowed temporarily. Surely her reddening face couldn't be seen in the dark, could it? Her actions hadn't necessarily been condoned but that they'd been considered understandable had quite the impression on her. By a rather eccentric ghost-type entity, but still. Her pace picking up again, she was curious about what she'd been told. "You take care of someone?" Perhaps it wasn't as unusual as her mind was making it out to be, being that she had knowledge of a rather similar situation. The elementals and ghouls that were drawn to Miyabi did the same in their own way, didn't they? Lacking the capability to express as much, but protective of their charge all the same.
The cloying scent had hit her prior to even setting foot upon the intended floor. What good shielding her sensitive nose with all of a hand would do was uncertain but she didn't hesitate in doing do, muttered complaints muffled as she did so. "Tch, foul." And hmm, how curious. Would the presence get in trouble for helping her at all? Pointing her in what was assumed to be the right direction was enough, really. Expecting any more would be selfish. The majority of the consequences would likely be hers alone and she'd accepted that with her decision to seek him out. "I see. I should be all right. I should." Maybe if she repeated it enough it'd come true! And similarly... "I really hope that he's all right." Wouldn't hurt to mumble her wish as she plodded ever closer to a possibility of discovering the reality she sought.

Oops! Oh well, he was going to get nagged at anyway, might as well entertain her for a while. Besides, not like this little wisp could talk about it so openly, so as long as no one else was able to hear them, they should be fine. "Yeah," came the reply after a moment's hesitation. "Because of the nature of his work, mostly. If I'm not there, next thing I know he's doing the reaper's homework," coupled with an embarrassed laugh. "Really, we only come here because the doctor's willing to help with the injuries. Wish he'd get better at his bedside manner though, it's bad for someone trying to recover from mental trauma." Looks like whatever practice the good doctor was attempting for social behavior was not particularly working out too well still.
At least the good thing about this hallway was that all the doors were closed save one. That one just so coincidentally seemed to be the source of the strong smell too, how convenient. "There's the office. Huh? I wonder where he went?" The wisp hovered near a spot just beside the door. "He was supposed to be here.... Did something happen?" Perhaps the wisp was blind as well as deaf, for the large dark splatter on the wall opposite as well as the dull 'schlop schlop schlop' coming from inside the office should be dead giveaways. Or maybe there was something else occupying that ghostly mind to think about any danger that might be lurking just around the corner.

"Oh~ Must be tough." Her obliviousness over the issue obviously stemmed from her tendency of filling the role of troublemaker herself, of course. Perhaps being around Erhard often had given her a taste of her own medicine, with the resulting worrying and all, but she was hardly remorseful about that. And despite some misfortune with making friends in the recent past it seemed that she was still quick to warm up when approached the right way, replying to the wisp's concern with her usual chipper tone. "Heh~ He just needs more practice!" Personal gains aside she really was an ideal candidate to help him, being that despite her own lack of effort when it came to maintaining a human facade she had to have a good understanding of how best to approach various types of people. Not only a person with the right sort of insight but with motivation to gives him heaps of patience as well. A coincidental sort of niceness, but she certainly wouldn't complain.
What had surfaced of her bubbly personality dissipated upon entering the intended room. The stifling atmosphere overtook her instantly, breathing slowing as her eye widened to its natural limit. The odor hadn't let up but instead intensified. But between beginning to become accustomed to it and the perturbing sight before her taking far more precedence it hardly mattered much. Her raised arm with her covering hand simply fell, their importance diminished. There was apprehension in her limbs as she approached the stain with an automatic cadence of steps. Its origin had yet to be revealed, but it hadn't resulted from anything good. But with a rise of fear within her there was also a rise of ferocity, any timidity she had over her intrusion long gone as her fingers found themselves grasped into fists.

Schlop. Schlop. Kaploosh. Eww. The sounds from the office were loud, yet quiet, restrained grumbling could be heard underneath. But it sounded nothing like the doctor she was looking for. Oh well. At least there was a brighter light than her companion coming from inside the office, but it was small and moving around too anyway. Maybe it belonged to someone else. "Huh. I think he left somewhere," observed the wisp, darting down to direct her attention to the floor. Looks like whoever, or whoevers more likely, had been unlucky enough to step on the icky stuff on the way out had left a mess of differently shaped footprints, leading further down the corridor. Accompanying those was another large slick of the unknown substance, spread across the wall like a lunatic with a giant paintbrush.
"One of these has got to be his. Haaaaaaaa..... I told him to wait for me! Maybe he's gone back to the ward?" The wisp drifted off further down the hall, keeping close to the floor to follow a particular set of footprints that was pretty much indistinguishable from the rest. "Is he okay? Oh no." Whatever interest there was in accompanying Amarante was probably pushed aside in favor of looking for the ghost's friend.
But it was a three-way junction. The door to the stairwell behind them slammed itself shut for some reason, with the distant sound of curious flutters and calculated steps coming closer.

Any parting due to the slight difference in their priorities was probably inevitable, her silent concern and the wisp's voiced worries scarcely paying much attention to each other. Her focus was finally broken by the sound of the door slam, which seemed to just annoy her more than anything. "Of course that would happen." Ultimately doors weren't much of a hindrance but not needing to shatter it would still be to her preference. "I'm much more useful when I'm not trapped, you know," she continued, as if hindering her movement hadn't been the intention of trapping her and under the assumption that someone was listening. Well, maybe someone was. Was she in fact alone in the room anyway? The mess seemed to bother her more than the possibility of any creepy crawlies, anyhow, as upon starting to pace out of the room she finally noticed and did a little cringing away from the floor. "This is an office, right? Not some cave?" Seemed like any cave would be cleaner than her present location. All very bothersome and when she'd so little time to be bothered, too! It was definitely a better use of her time to follow the distracted ghost rather than wait around, despite any curiosity she might have regarding the sounds her ears were beginning to pick up. So while taking extra care to not slip and fall, she started on doing just that.

"... What?" The wet noises stopped, the owner of that scruffy voice in the office momentarily snapped out of focus. One heartbeat, two heartbeats, three - the sound of a stick being placed very carefully against a wall and careful trudging towards the office door, and the white spotlight flitting to the floor just outside. Oh no, nothing, just the footprints and footsteps. Footsteps. Take a deep breath, slowly reach for the door and nudge it closed, make sure whoever those heels belonged to, they knew that there's... oh. They went on down the corridor.
"Something wrong, doctor?" beeped a different, soft flat voice. Only to be shushed and for the whitecoat to peek his head and his flashlight outside the door. On one end, complete darkness. Okay, so no going to the pantry via the stairwell later. On the other, it's a young lady minding her own business....?
"H-Hey!"
The call was loud enough, and he startled the wisp! "Oh no! Quick, ma'am! Get to the last door at the end of the hallway! Come on!" Easy to say for a ghost, flying certainly required no energy or resulted in painful feet! But just to be nice, better double back and keep close to her, lest the scruffy whitecoat behind them had any bright ideas with the other doors in the hallway!

Oh, they were being yelled at. Or was it just her? Regardless, she saw no reason to question the ghost's urging to make themselves scarce and promptly started up a succession of quick strides towards the instructed destination. No panic to be seen just yet; just the calm focus of someone intent on carrying out orders and completing her mission. For the most part, anyway. "I don't think he's playing this right. Doesn't he know he has to let us hide first?" Not exactly the time for her irreverent little comments, but as long as she was in fact making a getaway at a decent speed it didn't matter too much did it? As tempting as it was to grab the ghost to keep him at her pace, she managed to remember that ghosts could in fact move outside of physical means and it probably wouldn't be a problem. Angling her feet to the side to skid to a stop at the doorway in question, she looked to the ghost for what to do next. "Now what?"

Ghosts being ghosts, what were doors to them? Simply nothing more than open tickets to the next room, with no need for opening or closing, of course! Maybe her question failed to reach, or it was purposeful ignorance, but the wisp had already phased through the door and left her behind. Oh well.
"Hey! Wait! Don't go there!" Oh, looks like she was still being chased. And that smell was getting stronger again, like someone was lugging a bucketful of the gunk after her. But why not go there, when she was already instructed to by a more familiar presence than her pursuer? Besides, what harm would going in be, when a click behind the 'safe' door sends a ribbon of white, clinical light beaming out around its outline?

Really, he'd just left her? The unamused look on her face had a matching comment of disapproval to go with it. "Haa~ Ghosts these days." She hadn't long to be catty over it before noticing that the spooky figure was still bearing down upon her. "Geh!" If he who had been designated 'it' in their game of hide and seek was in fact benign, ominously chasing through the dark probably wasn't the best way to go about relaying that intention. And though she was fully capable of phasing through the door herself, her domesticated nature combined with her fear being pushed to the forefront had her fumbling for a doorknob instead. Even a simple task like that ended up more complicated than it should have been. And once she'd grasped upon it, such unnecessary difficulty! Still, that guy was getting entirely too close, and with a little more force she had it turned and fled inside. She scrambled to close the door behind her, taking care to meddle with anything that looked like it might've been a lock. Once that was done, a sigh of relief came naturally as her back leaned against the door. Maybe it wouldn't do much good in the end, but it was a momentary comfort at least. Only then did she notice her status as being assaulted by what seemed like a lot of light, at least comparative to outside. "Mrr~" A sound of annoyance was voiced as her hands went to shield a face that had become accustomed to the darkness fairly quickly. She could take in the details of just where she was after the piercing pain in both sockets subsided in a short while.
