Lark made sure her hat didn't fly off when Roch tugged her along after him, and she gave Ben a look that said something like he does this all the time - if she didn't know Roch as long as she had, she might get whiplash from his tugging this way and that way - as it was, she didn't mind in the least. After all, Roch wouldn't be Roch if he wasn't exactly the way he was. Even if he was a jackin' punk. "Save m'some food," Lark grinned as she hurried to keep up, Ben hop-walking at a much slower, more careful pace.

The Ringmaster himself was having a wonderful time ringmastering his way around the dance. This mostly entailed scaring people and/or bellowing greetings in a too-loud voice that everyone could thank the drinks table for.
He hadn't actually passed by any of his fellow hosts yet, and wanted to check in with them. Particularly with the Painted Doll... who would have guessed an orange outfit would make such good camouflage?

"I'll try," he said as he let both of them go and started loading up a massive plate of food. "I gotta stop when it starts t'topple over, after all," he said seriously--reaching that point quickly and turning towards them again to start eating. It was times like this when, had you asked, he would have bragged about winning the school eating competition when he'd been a snot. The food seemed to disappear in a matter of moments. Then he let out a happy sigh, wiped his mouth with the back of his arm, and grinned at them. "Final song before I gotta go up should be startin."

Had the music changed? Was there even music playing? Freya heard something, but she turned her head up to look at the DJ booth, which was mysteriously missing. And the song sounded like it went on forever. She turned back just in time to see Kettil flip someone off scandalously, and gasped, putting her hands on his shoulders to try and hold him down, as if he was going to attack. Sadly, that was her thing, not his. "Hooter!" She whispered, biting her lip to keep the snickering at bay. Still, it was a rare event when he managed to actually get his feathers ruffled.. and it was nice to see that she wasn't the only one with a temper. "Yeh knows something." She leaned in, and left a soft kiss on his bottom lip. Her eyes brimmed with bubbly joy. "I'm really glad I said yes."

While Roch ate, Lark nibbled on this and that in between fanning herself with her hat. The tent felt warm, her cheeks felt pink, but overall, well. Lark couldn't remember the last time she'd had so much fun. Probably last prom, if she thought about it real hard. "Y'know what they're playin'?" Ben was too busy stuffing his face as fast as he could.

Wait. Wait. There was music playing? When did that happen?
Either way Kettil was busy getting scolded by his ghoulfriend and he only continued to grin at her as he returned the kiss lightly, "Should train me better if you want me to behave in public~," he retorted, not in the least bit sorry. He didn't go around making wretching noises at other people's romances, and he certainly didn't do anything at them in a passive aggressive fashion.
Some just needed to grow up.
Freya's words hopped up and interrupted his line of thinking. His expression softened into a grin as he pressed his forehead to hers for a moment, "I am too. Do you know when you wanted the wedding at all?"
It'd be silly to get married while at school. Right?

Despite having just admitted that she was happy to have finally said yes to his proposal after a slew of nos, that question had her hackles up. There was a reason she'd said no that many times, after all. Her expression turned wary, and she refused to look in his eyes. "N-no, I mean, I don't knows when I wants teh. Except.. after we graduate. Ja?" Her heart clenched painfully, hurting. "Just.. after. I haven't really thought about it other than that." Her cheeks flushed with color, and anxiety bubbled up inside of her. "Getting married is a big deal." A scary one too, apparently.

Roch blinked and looked over at the DJ table--where Ren had disappeared from. "Not a clue," he said honestly. "Because the DJ wandered off." Then he started filling his plate again. "I'm still claimin' the time, though."

"Now that's a noise I don't hear often!" Amrita smiled at him despite her teasing, and as he pointed out her front-facing appendages, she looked down at them herself. "Err---Yeah. It's a challenge. I've almost fallen so many times..." Not to mention dropped things. Right now she was standing still and managed to hold her balance, but if she took a step? Who knows what would have happened. "...Thanks." She murmured shyly, rubbing the back of her neck. "I feel kinda naked though." Mostly because...she pretty much was. QUICK, TOPIC CHANGE --- GO!
"You though! You look fantastic! Is that a new suit? I'm impressed!"

Lark's brows lifted as Roch filled his plate again, and then she looked at Ben who was still stuffing his face. Her boys could eat.She wasn't sure where that thought came from, and Lark immediately banished it from her mind. Nope nope nope. Clearing her throat, Lark jammed her hat on top of her head and glanced around the dance floor. "Where'd yer sister go?"

"Well today is your lucky day," Aymet confided at the most considerate and conspiratorial volume he could manage, putting a clawed hand on both their shoulders, "Because I've just decided that neither of you have to decide! You're getting married right here, right now!"The truth was that nobody ever wanted to hear about how their odds of surviving till graduation were probably somewhere between slim and none, complete with an entire booklet of strategic tabletop-based calculations to back it up. It was easier (and better, in his opinion) to just make everyones' dreams come true a little earlier than scheduled.

"She's probly off playin' with Angeline," Roch said. "She should be back soon--else I'mma haveta send y'two after her--we need her for Radioactive," he said, finishing off his second plate and turning to watch the drama of a sudden marriage begin. Maybe this was why Ren had skipped out? Who knew? Oh, wait--Kettil and Lark--he looked at Lark, appearing a bit worried for the first time that night.

Kettil noted Freya's uncertainty and accepted it with a small nod, "Yeah. It's fine. I was just being curiou--,"
Then there was Aymet. His voice died mid speech and he suddenly clung a little harder to Freya than he meant out of surprise. Suddenly their private conversation was less than private.
"But..I...What...?!" Kettil's voice went up a few unmanly octaves due to surprise. "I uhh..." He sort of started to move himself and Freya toward the exit.

And then Hel didn’t care about dancing anymore, though a hand was still planted on Helmut’s fluffy head. Her head immediately whipped around at very loud voice, and it wasn’t hard to find the source…and the victims. Hel’s eyes widened at this sudden turn of events, and she had her sister’s back, okay? The ghoul raised her hands and clapped loudly and enthusiastically. “HEAR, HEAR! DO THE HONORS, MISTER PRESIDENT!” Hel totally had her sister’s back.
