Crystal watches the new Slytherin come in. With a mischievous smile, she gets up, stands behind him, and suddenly glomps him. "Hi!" she says. "You're new! I'm Crystal Quills, who are you?"

"Well, we don't know for sure if they are cursed, but it was only the other day the common room was filled with jelly beans that turn you into an animal, left by the same person who brought in the cookies. And destroyed my muffin Sonas gave me!" Crystal turns her head to glare at James and discovers he is gone. "Uh, where did James run off to?" She relaxes her death hug of doom on Alexander a little. "Has anyone seen James? I thought he was here a second ago."

Alexander was surprised when one of his fellow students pulled him into a death embrace. "I'm Alexander Lionus." He managed to gasp when she released her grip a bit. He took a deep breath and then let it out. "Why would he hex food? It's not even that funny, just mean."

I dunno, I think it's kind of funny to see people unexpectedly turn into animals. As long as it's not me. whee
Besides, we are Slytherins; do you really expect us to be all sunshine and roses [all the time? xd

"Who knows what goes through his head." Crystal pauses. "I hope he's ok though." She goes back to the chair and flomps down. "So, Alexander, have you signed up for any classes yet? I'm in Charms, Astronomy, and Muggle Studies."

Alex rolled his eyes. "You're right we are in Slytherin, so maybe we shouldn't just go and draw attention to ourselves over stupid things like this." He told the other student and sighed. He didn't like the idea of being in the spotlight, he preferred to stay n the background until he needed to be noticed. The boy looked over at Crystal as she sat down in her chair. "No, I haven't really had the time yet."

"Oh, so you prefer subtlety then. Good, that's my preference too. At least when it comes to scheming." Crystal smiles and nods approval. "You should look into classes when you get the chance. Some of them are really fun."
She gets out of the chair. "I'm going to go look for James and see what trouble he's causing, if anyone wants to come with me I'm going to the great hall first." She skips her way out of the common room, humming Pretty in Pink.

Daffodil curls up in a chair next to the fire and her kitty jumps into her lap. Once a brown tabby-colour, Alex's fur has been altered to match Daffodil's current hair colour of silver.
I think I'm going to take this opportunity to catch up on some reading. I might go down and check out the class options in a little while.

Alexander finished writing his letter home and sealed it in an envelope, using his family crest on the hot wax mark. The boy slipped the mail into his robe pocket before looking up at the girl who spoke to him. "Uh, thank you, I actually need to sign up for classes, could you tell me where to get that done?"
