Banding was a great ability.
Or ice age rules where theres no cap on the number of one card you can have in a deck.
Pure red deck made of mountains and lightning bolts.

No kidding.
They make cards like that when Royal Assassins are banned.

Good thing I never got into Magic the Gathering. Unfortunately, it was a big fad when I was in one of those crapy summer camps.
-edit- Can't you counter those with "remove from game" type cards?

11 colourless for an 11/11, indestructible, trample creature?
Way overpowered. Its s**t like that that I stopped playing, even before something as lame as that came out.
Ah well, the only thing I can think to counter it is those blue cards I have which is 'enchanted ______' is now on your team, or trade this creature for another one in play. Mischievous s**t like. But they probably dont make those cards anymore.

K. Won't they make "Darksteel Charisma" Effect: Darksteel Charisma is indestructible. Your creatures cannot be turned to an opponent's side.

I would hope you could remove them from the game, SOMEHOW. But with enough cards you can stack all these bullshit bonuses.

The Yugioh card game has a way to get around the 'can't be the target of spells' bit. If I remember right, effects (from whatever the source) that did not designate a monster ( aka hits all monsters), would affect them.

Ugh. I get enough of that game at school. Every little nerd has cards.
On a retarded note: This is UBER cheesy.

Well, the only thing I can really think of would be to play a blue deck. Maybe blue and white.
Blue because theres a counter card where you not only counter the played card, but remove it and every copy of the card from an opponent's deck from the game.
