Dead week is living up to its name.
To top it off, I might be getting strep throat. AND I have a concert tomorrow with my choir class and missing a performance = automatic fail in the class. Maybe if I literally have no voice, though...

Ok, so. 2 papers, 3 tests, and 1 pilates session to go and I am free.
I can do this.
Also, I have an idea for a new poem and a vast improvement on an old poem, so look for those in the next couple weeks, hopefully I'll have time to flesh this out.

Spent 3 days teaching 6th graders.
And you know what...I've been loving it.
I'm shocked and a half.

So, I am taking a course called Ethnobotany... basically the medicinal and cultural purposes of plants.
On the first day of class my professor, Dr. Rani because her last name is not pronouncable, as I have determined by numerous minutes spent trying to do it, gave us this warning: "Now while this knowledge is highly useful on explorational studies, I warn you not to trust your knowledge and pick up random plants and eat them when your sick. You will, I promise you, get sick. Maybe die if you are really unlucky... But sick for sure. Because you will pick the wrong plant due to missing a class... or sleeping.. or whatever college students do instead of going to class. Moral of the story? Welcome to Ethnobotany. Don't eat the plants."
All I could imagine was 1) the coach from mean girls and 2) all my moms hard work towards getting me to eat vegetables when i was little going straight down the drain.

Ohh, botany . . . When I was a small child I was quite obsessed with plants. And bugs. I had very few friends........
I am spending my Saturday watching Nick. Not much has changed.
