so, for the starting classes, they'll all have two trees to choose from once they reach a certain "level"
and this is what I had in mind, but please say something if you have a problem or want to add something
for most of these I listed the weapons but not what the trees do specifically
Ninja (mostly focused on intel gathering and being sneaky, this is actually very important) (not helpless in a fight, and can dodge most of the time)
-this tree will be even more focused on
stealth and intel gathering?
-this tree will be
support based? (blinding the enemy, smoke bomb to help team escape, hinder movement)
(idk about the support tree, I feel like they should be able to do that regardless)
Archer (medium ranged combat, bow and arrows) (will be slightly out of range of the enemy's attacks)
-crossbow and shield? (
medium range combat with some
defense) (will be slightly out of range of the enemy's attacks)
-long bow? (
long range combat but
no defense, maybe able to dodge?)
Mage (combat magic, healing magic)
-more
combat based tree? (if they know a healing spell it'll be less effective and have a longer cooldown, like starting class mage)
-more
healing based tree? (more potent healing magic, cure status ailments, maybe SLIGHTLY tankier than the combat tree?)
Swordsman (wields one sword, meant to be the tank or a bruiser)
-
Knight (wields sword and shield or greatsword)
(meant for tanking for your teammates)
-
Samurai? (wields longsword or can use two swords)
(more damage based swordsman, can't really tank that well but can still take hits)
Monk (gauntlets) (meant for close-quarter combat, can dodge attacks most of the time, can't really save teammates)
-
Unarmed/gauntlets with fighting styles?
-
polearm?
(I feel like the monk should be able to wield any of these weapons regardless of tree, but idk what the 2nd tree would be)
and be like
-ninja
this and that has to be changed
-archer
etc
so it'll be organized thoughts
U KNO HOW IT GOES
EDIT: thinking about adding spears to knight and monk
