"Well Maly, you do seem to forget that you don't own me and nobody will ever use me unless I permit it." She said it nonchalantly but she had the mythril to back it up. She looked at Piper and said, "Basically I said, that your accent is very cute and nothing to be ashamed of. So now repeat back and tell me what part of it you got in Common now." An idle glance at the little familiar still poking. She was just glad it was Kieran and not her.

Kieran let Tarhu crawl and inspect as she may...worse thing that could happen was he would look a little ruffled up. He supposed he was interesting...what with the chains, skin color changes, hair dye and what not. At presetn she was tryign to apparently disassemble him. It was cute in that particular way. "Hm I can see this one getting into everything."

What no explosion? Well okay then, patience and tempers would survive another day it seemed. Though for some reason it was weird for her learning to speak drow in front of Malik rather than from Malik. Embarassing would be the word. Perhaps it was the lack of intimate setting, who knew...but a sigh. "Dosst special wiles ph' ves yugho ulu vok ulu Piper, xun naut tlu numl bauth ol. Ol gumash tlu d' kl'ae wun l' orlingg zenphe rak'nes." And she took a moment to think on it. "Your accent," She only knew that one because Malik had mentioned it before, " is very....nice to listen to Piper, do not be sad about it. It could be of use in the bed chamber especially." Well that's how her mind put it together and she picked the words up from all the time she spent listening to conversations in Neriak, Malik translating for her when she needed to know something.

Narrowing of eyes.

"Last warning. You will address me by my name, and not some inane nickname."

He was aching some form before and really in no mood for the proddings of Zahara right now. motioning to a slave, and giving them a softspoken command and sneding them to handle his armor and to reward Tremor.

"But do go on with your lessons.'

Zahara just ran her fingers through her hair and tapped her nails. "Very good." She glancd at Piper, then at Malik and caught her bottom lip with her teeth, chewing on it a moment before letting it go. "Malik fridj 'udtila naut saph ulu inbal jivvin. Uk dyunhk ulu elgg l' jivvin." She rolled her eyes for a moment and then nodded at Piper, repeating it once more in Drow slower to give the other elf a chance to follow what she was saying.

Piper stared at Zahara a moment and then just gave a laugh and shook her head. Oh she understood that line and replied with her own, "Siyo uk 'udtila, lu' nau uk 'udtila naut...a mzulst naut jal l' draeval." Yay simple words and then the articles and verbs, she had all of those down pact. And she beamed proudly at that..more so doing it on her own as oppossed to just defending Malik.

Yes, Kieran was certainly interesting, and soon she was done with that man as well. A quick look around the table shoed she had a few things to inspect yet. Almost catiously, she approached Malik, looking at him with those big eyes and twitching her wings. She couldn't use those yet, she'd have to learn. She wanted to get closer, but unlike Keiran, Malik wasn't close enough to the table for her to just leap onto. So she did the next best thing, sitting in front of Malik and tilting her head every which way.

Raziel lifted an eyebrow. I don't recall being quite this inquisitive."

"Ves bwael. Dos ph' screa'in ol jal'yur." She nodded in approval. At this rate, in a few weeks at the most they'd be speaking Drow all the time to give Piper a chance to practice and learn the language in and out. The prospect pleased her quite a bit though she wished that Malik didn't know it as well. It would be nice to talk to Piper without Malik knowing exactly what was said. "Lu' Usstan qua'lae, uk vishin l' jivvin jal l' draeval."

Cedric sat in the foyer of the School, and watched the students tread by. He was growing tired of this place, too many magelings for his liking. The wizards seemed rather... Dettached from the outside world. It was like looking at the cure to the worlds disease locked behind a glass wall.

Perhaps though, Cedric simply placed too much trust in the hands of wizards to fix most of life's problems. Then again, which problems could not be fixed by magic? Even love was subseptable to magical incantations, broken hearts could be mended, unwilling loves enticed. Then again, that would be a lie.

Magic is a lie.

"What is the difference between a wizard and a lie?" He asked retorically to the air, knowing full well that a certain mage was probably pondering about at this time of day.

"Like truth, the person behind it. But I'm a mage, not a wizard. Does that change anything?" Roarke smiled. Having just come in with Daz's little pack, who wrere currently tearing up the front foyer. Roarke grimanced, and took a mental note to have tapestries and vases moved to restricted areas.

"Are you starting to get restless here, Cedric?" Not that he didn't understand. The atmosphere was rather bland. Not much to do for those not studying.

"Such a large gathering of magical talent, yet so little effect on the universe. I recall similar institutions in the Destroyed Kingdom, but the training including community involvement." Cedric frowned.

"What is the difference between a magic user and another magic user?"

The drow yawned as he felt the slight gale subside, leaving a rather wet mist all about him. The rain had come as Meilikki promised, but seemed to last forever. Then again, he might not have noticed if it stopped or started since he had placed his heart more fully into the quest before him.

A warmonger through and through, but slightly slower than usual. Normally, nothing would have stopped him from crushing the Lich's little empire...

He held a large for of mostly undead and soulless minions. With that information alone, Tarathiel could use the resources he currently has avaliable to completely crush the Lich without a second thought, but something was holding his hands back.

Maybe, he just wanted to see Malik deal with it.

More likely, he didn't care.

Or possibly, he was worried about the defence of some perticular place or person.

Wierd. Hesitation. So that is what it feels like.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:05 pm

He shrugged. "Ah well, we used to be a community. But time happens and things dwindle." Ah well, it might have been fun here once.

"The difference? As a mage, my power was handed to me through genetics. Wizards have to earn it." Perhaps another reason why he didn't enjoy his own powers. He didn't particularily entertain the idea of getting soemtihng for nothing.

"But then again, if magic was a lie, would it be real?"

Warren and Eliot had been ushered out of the Keep's main room some time ago, most of the space in said room would soon be covered ..work. A large cast iron pot bubbled over the fire, something colourless but oddly fragrant boiling away. Small burners where spread out across counters and tables, the contents usually animal related, simmiering with something plant related. The ingriediants and proceedure was too long and complicated for Meilikki to actually memorize, like the other potions she was able to make, but for this one, Tanundra actually had to recite the instructions to her. He did this several times, reading from a small leatherboand book. They had a reached a point where everythign was simmering nicely, cut up, ground, ready to be thrown or poored or pinched.

She wore that plain dress again, with an apron and leather thong to tie back her hair, little whisps breaking free and resting on her forehead. She heaved a sigh and sat in one of the chairs, glad for the break after so much work.

Outside, the rain had finally started to fall.

"Reality does not exist." Cedric stood and locked his eyes on the mage.

"By your demeanor, one would establish that you did not feel kindly towards your born powers. Would you rather them be in the possession of a war mongering Drow? Or an Illithid bent on world consumtion?"

Tarathiel grew wairy of his thoughts and walked into the keep. His senses picked up on a few scents that were new, and the image of a apron wearing oracle greeted his eyes.

Definately wanted to see how Malik would fair. No distractions here.

"What's cooking Love?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:20 pm

"And why not?"

"Nope. Don't care for them much, though they do tend to get things done from time to time." he shrugged. "Of course not. I might not like them but I know what's good for me. I'd rather they just not exist at all." He chuckled at hismelf there, spekaing about truths and reality, eh?

A tired smile. "Cooking? I don't really remeber anymore. Tanundra, what was the first thing we threw in there? Oh yes. Pig's heart. A sow who's live for three months, born only six piglets, and never suckled. Hell of a time finding that one." She stretched out her arms and cracked her back. "What brings you back to the Keep this time, Tarathiel?" Her cheeks got a little red at the word "love", but she couldn't help it."

Rain pounded on the roof, a noise Meilikki very much enjoyed. The sound created by the rain allowed her to here as if she could see, as the sounds bounced off things and made new and different noises, Meilikki could se the rafters in the ceiling, or the chairs in front of the fire, even where Tarathiel was.

"There can never be any proof of existance, entire generations of men have died in search for undeniable proof. They concluded that the could determine their existance through doubt, but magics destroys that line of logic. Each and every philosophy falls pray to the paradox created by the pressence of elves and the other signs of magic. Magic unmakes the universe in much the same way it can end life."

"You could end their existances, if you put your mind to it. But, you are too kind, and probably believe that they can redeem themselves if not atone for their crimes."

"In the end, that which gives you power disproves existance. In a sense, you can be argued to be the destruction of reality."

"Then again, my experience teaches me that a danger that I know does not exist here, may be waiting just beyond those doors as I speak. A displacer Beast or Beholder could manifest itself at the most inoppurtune times, as Umberhulks might swarm me at the next bend in the tunnel. Not to mention the more numerous than the tunnels of goblinkin out there."

"If the things of my nightmares are real, and the ghosts in the dark are not imagined, what am I to think of reality? Nothing at all, it will cost me my life. Thus, reality does not exist."

The drow prince smiled, "Contemplating the survival of my enemy." He walked towards the food, but stopped short. "Sounds delicious. You are lucky to have found a pig, or are they common in this area? Lavi makes most of the food my soldiers eat. Nice magical power he has, the creation of food. Bronze Dragons do not revel in the consumption of the living."
