...so far I've posted on 4 different accounts on this page. I tried for 2 more but they're not members of the guild and I'm not petty enough to invite them just so I can populate a page with myself.
Blank wins. He had the best attitude out of all the characters, got to do the "I show up at exactly the right moment to save the day" thing like three or four times, and had a pretty winning character design compared to stupid monkeyboy.

themightyjello Blank. The best character in the game is Blank. The one that got turned to stone right at the beginning. I agree 100%. Blank was awesome. I wish they would've put him as one of the main characters. x3 I mean, c'mon, he has a leather belt on his eyes! A LEATHER BELT! Though, I liked Freya and Vivi, as well. Freya is my favorite main character out of all the main characters. =3

FF9 was my least favorite of all the 'recent' FFs. I say 'recent' referring to every one that was released originally on a CD playing console, not the ones that were re-released on them.
A lot of people hate 8. I can see why. Half the characters were seat fillers, the other half were emo. The story made absolutely no sense towards the end. The gameplay was kind of suck. But for the most part I liked it -up until- about 3/4 of the way through the game, where they just said "hey, you know this story we've been doing up until now? ******** IT".
Of course, I'm also obligated to mention that 7 is entirely overrated by FF virgins who'd never touched an RPG until they saw that one. Good, but not worthy of three spinoff games, a movie, and an anime OVA series.
edit: Oh, and X. I don't have a problem with anything in FFX -except- the main characters. Tidus and Yuna were made of fail and lose, respectively. Auron should have been on camera at all times to make up for this.
X-2 does not exist in my eyes.

Final Fantasy 10 was my least favourite, and then they made ten-two. Pure suckage.
FF8 was probably my favourite, or five.

Well, I love all Final Fantasies. Each of them has their downs and ups, but most of them are overally okay and have a decent storyline...
Final Fantasy VII was a great RPG, though. It may be somewhat overrated, true, and I hate the fact that they're starting to change a lot of the things from the original storyline, but it's one of my top three favorite games along with Xenogears and Wild Arms 2.

FF6 was my favorite. FF7 was good. FF8 was cool, too, since I think it had the best character customization. FF9 has the same shitty "learn from weapons" one of the Tactics games had. Also: spoilers.

Xenogears is quite possibly the single greatest RPG ever made.
As far as FF games go, 6 is hands-down my favorite. 5 and 4 are pretty awesome, as is 7. Not worthy of so many spinoffs, but still a very good RPG.
But 6 was just superior to me in almost every way. It had a good, long, deep story that you could explore even further by going on all the -massive number of- optional sidequests for. Despite having 15 playable characters it still managed to give each of them a defined personality, a uniqueness of their own, a good character design, and even a lengthy sidequest or two just for them. They didn't just end up being blank-faced clones with nothing but a new character model *cough*ChronoCross*cough*. The evil plots actually followed a logical train of thought, rather than "why the hell are they doing this again?", and you could understand what was going on while enjoying it.
The only thing I think 7 did better was the Materia system, which let you have a whole new level of customization in the characters. Unfortunately it removed the character-specific talents that most games have, but it let you set up the party the way you liked without having to worry about needing one specific person in order to make it work.
I'd sing the praises of FFTactics but since it's not part of the numbered set I won't. Plus it would take too long.

And why do people say Sephiroth in FF7 is hard? I did it first time with no trouble at all.

I didn't honestly believe that was an end boss when I got there.
Then the credits rolled, and I was like: "What the hell... it's over!?"
