When Nines arrived for the details, he was still dressed exceedingly casually, but now without the load of ammunition. He took a seat, and quietly leaned forward as the video projection began. His blank expression turned to a frown when he realized the map of Durem was the only thing on display.

Roan's briefing left much to be desired in his mind. Shifting in his seat, he rested his weight forward on his left elbow as he edged in closer.

Could we get faces for the underlings? More information on the location? This is about as blind as it gets while still knowing there's even a job in the first place.

His grumblings belied the shaky confidence he was feeling regarding the task at hand. He waited expectantly, internally crossing his fingers that Roan had at least something more to share with them.

Dagoth found a clear spot on the table and parked himself on a comfortable spot, he listened careful to what she had to say but for him the only interesting point was the Tzimisce. At the mention of the clan, a grin spread across his face at the thought of how fun this could be and how much he could learn. The pirate nodded at the merc's comments, he cocked his head towards him.

"You deal with the hard drive, leave the Tzimisce to me."

The pirate part of him just wanted to get in an maim, kill and take his plunder however, the warrior understood that there was need for more planning and even some surveillance of the place.

"I don't care how you two do it, but YES, I can give you more. WHich brings me to why I wanted you to meet me in HERE, beyond the fact the war room is a mess right now."

She pushed off the sofa, rounded it, and dug under the DVD cases, pulling out two leather cases, rectangular in nature.

Passing them over, the two men would find a state of the art.. well, PDA was the best way to describe it, though it could of course do much more. Phone, tablet, GPS, PDA, address book, mini computer, it could do just about everything except make the tea, and with the press of a button, it synched with the TV, including loading up supplement files, including clear photos of three more of the targets, and blurry ones of the other two. A building schemaic was included, as was notes on anticipated delivery schedules and copies of the raw notes from Nines' previous target.

"Hopefully, this will help. Anything I missed, Nines? Incidentally, those are yours to keep."

A slight twitch struck Nines in the right eye. He blinked it away, but it had come just as Dagoth had spoken his mind.

With painstakingly deliberate slowness, Nines' head and shoulders twisted to eyeball his new partner. He made a point to be sure that Dag knew he was sizing him up with a skeptic's eye.

You sound like a guy I knew once. He thought he was a hero, too. Hope for my sake you don't make his same mistakes.

The merc shook his head, and put his attention back where it was more deserving. His dry, cynical words left to hang in the space between himself and Dag.

The PDAs, when they were handed out, were a pleasant bonus. The knot that had formed in his chest loosened as he accepted the device from Roan and began to pad through the files stored within.

Much better. This we can work with.

"Now isn't that nice, the merc is being all cold and serious. Whats next trench coats, and a film noir send off?"

Dagoth returned the sizing up, snorting at the almost pathetic nature of the insult thrown his way. The pirate was no hero, he was no villan either but he was very good at killing at least in his own opinion. He grabbed the PDA device from Roan, flipping it open instantly and burying himself in the controls and options. He was impressed with the tech held within it and the options it gave him, part of him wanted to rip it open and take it apart.

"So when do we start?"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:17 pm

"That is between you two. As yet, there is no reason to suspect they know we're on to them, so time is on your side. Should the job fail however, and targets escape... let us say it will change my opinions of you. Especially once I get you debriefed seperately.

The job matters. I do not want to have to clean up a mess that could cause extra work on my plate. Talk to each other. And remember, you do not HAVE to do this together, I will find other work for either of you should you wish it. Neither of you is mine after all."

She shrugged, flopping into the settee and flicking the television over to what turned out to be Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

"Tell me, Dagoth, do you carry a firearm?"

The 'together' part depends on heroboy here.

Nines threw Dag another glance. He had managed to restrain the visible wince at the pirate's retort, keeping his sigh and facepalm internal.

I'll be geared and ready in an hour. After that we go when you're ready.

The merc pushed back from the table and eased himself onto his feet. Lazily he leaned back, planting his free hand on the base of his back and enjoying a good stretch before he left.

You know where to find me.

"I can use them, but no I don't own any firearms. They are hardly the weapons of warriors."

Dagoth turned to the TV and watched along with Roan, personally he didn't care much about finding the hard drive but then part of him actually wanted to complete this correctly now. He could feel something in his gut, a burning hate warming his organs. The pirate couldn't control the twisted grin on his face, he turned to Roan.

"Let me guess you don't want me slicing the place up"

Dagoth laughed out loud when Nines left the room, he was going to be very interesting to play with. Thousands of buttons to push out, he figured that had to be why Roan kept him out.

"My my he just thinks he so very smart, this might be worth doing right after all."

"Depends on the firearm, and while I would usually go for a blade or close combat weapon myself, options should always be considered.

Nines, I know you're loaded out, I will escort Dagoth to the armoury to make sure he is also. Even if not used, it never hurts to carry SOMETHING."

True, she hardly ever used guns herself. She had a habit of going for the kill when she fought, and against the kind of things she killed, guns were rarely effective. That didn't stop her carrying a Browning Hi-Power as a standard part of her load-out however, particularly when there was a good chance of dealing with mortals, or merely wanting to incapacitate someone.

When Nines then left, she turned a serious look on Dagoth.

"You will not wind him up. I trust him to do the work, and while he is taciturn and stubborn, he is capable. He has possibly even more on his plate right now than you do, even during your episodes when I force you to confront your past. If you do not feel you can work together... tell me."

.: I can feel your suspicions. :.
.: Will you confirm them? :.
.: Neither confirm nor deny. The time isn't right. :.
.: I know Im right. :.
.: IF you are... good luck loosening Nines up, calming Dagoth down, and teaching Corbin values. :.
.: Shut up. :.

"Remember, I will debrief you seperately, and depending on what I hear... well, you can guess. This way. I want you properly armed."

At which point, she'd get up and lead the way down to the armoury, with the usual routine to lower the armoured and proptected room into place to access it. While this was happening, it;d give him a chance to make any concerns known to her.

"I won't wind him but I cannot deny I may want to see how much he thinks he can read me. Working together, I have no issues Roan. I've worked with worse."

Dagoth followed Roan to the armoury letting out a long high whistle when they entered, Dagoth would walk down the length armoury tracing his fingers across the weapons, turning to Roan he would study her for a moment before speaking his mind for a second.

"You know something about me, I can feel it. Yet you wont tell me, I can see it when you look through me."

Dagoth took down a browning hand gun as he spoke, he went through the weapon drills he knew. Stripping the weapon into parts, putting it back together making sure the sights were zero'd and the slide action was smooth.

"I know you've been hiding behind gruff bluster and bravado for so long you do it without thinking sometimes. I know you have more smarts under the hood than you want people to know about, and that being on land for too long without seeing the water makes you pine.

I know that you have a physical block inside you, stopping you from dealing with your past and maximising your potential. A block large enough to cause you to not benefit from how long you've been alive, because it hasn't been one long string for you. Its been several lifetimes, lived as different people.

I know I scare and tantilise you and often you protest too much in response to things said to you that are close to the mark.
I know you know Im a manipulator and you keep second guessing whether I've made you my puppet yet or not."

She answered him cooly from the doorway as she watched him take in the weapons and accessories. The armoury had a vast selection of standard weapons, plus of course the four weird cases at the end of the room, three of them filled. Two swords and a scythe sat in the filled ones, commanding attention more than the other blades in the room.
But they were not the only odd weapons. A pair of 9mm handguns had strange blu lines down the sides, and one of the shotguns seemed to sporadically shimmer with static down the length of the barrel. Several boxes of ammo were locked in odd little clear ases, and one coudl alsmot swear these cases vibrated to the touch.
It wasn't a normal armoury in many ways, but the gun Dagoth chose was, and well maintained to boot.

"I know a lot about you Dagoth, from observing you, and you have done the same to me. Something about me resonates with a memory or instinct of yours, and you hold back every time you start exploring it. I already know what I see when I look at you is correct. Have you figured out why you haven't left here yet? And what it is about me that bothers you so much?"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:26 pm

Dagoth put the handgun back as he continued he stroll through the armoury, he stopped dead in front of the swords and got hit by that burning sensation again. Something was right and very wrong about these events, he shook his head as felt like a dead weight on his shoulders.

"I am supposed to be here, I was always meant to be here. Thats all I know at the moment. I may live to regret that but I do, maybe its another of my lives coming through or just something the fates wove for me to do. I really don't know."

His arm twitch has he reached out to touch but before anyone or anything thing could stop he took several steps back away from them. He laughed and returned to the weapons, looking to see if anything caught his fancy.

"I could say something like, they are powerful and dangerous but I'd rather go with those are ******** old. Right?"

"The statements aren't mutually exclusive. I wouldn't touch the cases if I was you."

She watched him wander the armoury, and listened to his words, mulling them over. Then again.. this was Dagoth. Actions usually worked better with the firebrand of a man.

"Always supposed to be here... so why does me doing this scare you so?"

She ws behind him in seconds, like a breeze suddenly blown through the room, and while she did not touch him, she slit a wrist, and rested her bleeding arm forward, over his shoulder, so it was at nose height without touching him.

Elder vitae, and its stink, filled the room, blood splattering onto the floor causing several of the weapons in the room to shudder and move in their moutings, further proving the room stored the weird and wonderful as a matter of course.

"You can't stand the thought of her, or my kind, yet you say you should be here, while quailing from a once enjoyed delicacy. Am I not cruel? Why not leave."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:46 pm

"Because of m....."

Dagoth smelt it before his eyes had registered where she was or had done to herself, he smashed himself into the row of guns scrambling to get away from her as fast as he could. His face was awash with fear, when he was a good few feet away from her the anger would quickly begin to burn through.

"WHAT THE ******** IS WRONG WITH YOU!"

"I believe the question is more... what the ******** is wrong with you?"

She was smiling, though it was the smile of the Cheshire Cat himself - a grin on the inside. Delicately lowering her arm after he crashed through several racks of firearms ot get away from her, she lapped at the wound as a cat would cream, slowly cleaning away the trail of red, towards the cut that acted as the source of the stream.

"You intend to take on five or six Sabbat and kill them. They will bleed too, you know. True, they wont be as powerfu or smell so strong, but it's either a case of you won be able to do the job because ALL vitae affects you this way... or its just mine and I want to know what exactly is wrong with you regarding me. Im not her. I dont look like her. I haven't tried to get you to burn down anything personally significant to you. I dont THINK I act like she did, though I don't know... so why are you so damned afraid of me bleeding?"

She didn't lick the wound closed, quite happy to let the scent of age and power keep him off balance.
