JMan 240 Qastor Sugino Sakada JMan 240 Powermetal is really... annoying. Jazzy - Neither of them are church sanctioned holidays, officially. People of a multitude of religions celebrate both of them. Thanksgiving is really just an American holiday anyways. Like I said, people can't handle religion. It's human nature to ******** up that kind of important things. Thus is why I don't practice any institutionalize form of religion. I think preachers and congregations pervert the Christian religion, and I really haven't found a single one that I think presents the Bible as a way to live your life. Not a one doesn't point to at least one spot and say that it condemns some group of people or some action. The act of pointing out any sort of condemnation to anyone, even if it is in the bible, is a sin. God is the only one who can condemn someone and therefore it is in no way anyone's right to even speak about someone else being wrong. Yet we all do it. It's also my belief that there is no way to live strictly by the bible, if there is someone who can then they do not live on earth. Metal ? All agreed on that though.... but thats why the bible teaches forgiveness as long as you can actually feel regret for your sins.... and not repeat them... POWERmetal is annoying. I enjoy metal though. And as soon as every human being in the world learns how to reject their base animalistic nature then that kinda thing can work. But human nature dictates that we repeat our numerous everyday sins as I call them. Then again, I'm not a Christian in any sense of the world Christian, nor am I faithful, nor am I a believer. There simply is, and if God is then that's great, if God isn't then oh well. I can't do anything to change those either way. Drew - Life is for the sinners. I just look at it as things are and thats how they will be I can not make things change nor do I have the time to change every person out there. And yes you do have a slight advantage over us, but then again holidays spring forth interesting topics... no ?

RC? Oh roman catholic. ^^. Interesting thing is I am RC and I go to a Nondemonational Christian school which is where I heard it.

Tempted Goddess Jon: So why not just follow the bible as it is? We're all going to sin, it tells us that, but that is why their forgiveness. wink As to religion I am probably one of the worst Catholics out there because I think that everything can be forgiven if a person has truely tried to make up for what they've done and turn away from it. I think its possible to live by the bible as a whole because in its teachings it says that there was only one perfect guy and we killed him. But that was so we could all be forgiven for screwing up. God is god. He can kill us in an instant if he chooses and yet he doesnot because he knows our weaknesses. Which is why he gave us grace. I agree with you, no one should be condemned for what they believed because their soul is their choice on what to do with it. Good point though on church. We're all going to fall over and over again, but we have to choose to get up. Even if we falll again, I think that if we keep striving for goodness... we might make it somewhere close enough that when we die he'll look at us and say, "You did better than I expected" Drew: Church is a hospital for sinners not a temple for the righteous. smile Suprised someone else has heard that. Is or isn't, it doesn't really matter, at least not to me. No matter what things will always either exist or not exist and me believing in something isn't going to make it exist any more than it already does. If God exists, thats awesome, I suppose I'll figure that out for my self eventually. If he doesn't then it doesn't change anything. It's not going to change what happens to me or how my life works out. If he does and he had a plan for me then that awesome, I was a part of something for once. If not it doesn't change the fact that I live and what happened actually happened.

Did I mention that the Bible, or any other religious texts, are the most contradictory things ever written? Cause if you try to follow those things to a T you would wind up literally loosing your mind. Hope that answers the first part of your last little paragraph thingy Jazz.

I really try not to argue religion because it's something illogical and therefore should never be argued about in the first place because arguments based on religion will literally go on forever. I'm proposing a new religion, the Care Bear Brotherhood. We sit in one spot so long that our minds go blank and.... well... that's it. Perfect religion right there.
