Warren had to take his time getting down the stairs. Each time his foot hit a step, it shook and didn't want to hold his wait But with railing and a bit of stubbirness, he made his way down. He saw Eliot by the fire, and had to blink his eyes a bit to clear them, because they were still fuzzy. He presumed they would be for some time. Almost falling over, he sat himself down by the wolk-girl. "Look um...if it's something I said to offend you..."
Aella knew when personal troubles mae you want to be alone, so she had left some time ago, retreating to her room with a book. Another romance novel. Eliot would be alright by herself, and could simply call out if need be.
Well, he didn't usually leave the academy, but lately he had wanted to get a good look at what was happen in Labyrinth. Things did not look good either. Starvation would soon take hold of this place. He felt aweful for that, since at the academy they could amke all the food they needed. Hmm, maybe he could interest king Jiskal in an apprenticship program. that would be benificial to them both and...oh dear what was that? Out at the water's edge seemed to be a very large rat swimming with several other smaller rats. but it looked like a very familiar rat didn't it?
Once again humming to herself, holding something swathed in cloth, Laudi walked the halls of the Fortress, up from the bowls and into the heart. SHe would return to the dinning area, and there await for the others of the houshold to fulfil their end of the bargain.

Her turn to look surprised. With a laugh she raised a hand and shook it. "How darre you Serino! You're supposed to love me!" Holding tight to Nerian she gave him a kick. "Like the wind Nerian! Don't let old Serino best you!" He reared, gave a whinny and took off after the other Zephyr, traversing uneven groudn with no problem, soon bringing them neck and neck. "Wanna see something really spectacular, you really want to fly? Hang on then! Nerian, Serino! Ve' i' sul! One that one word both horses gave a snort and the four disappered. What would Zahara feel? A slight warm sensation that at first made her weak then just fine the next instant. She would really feel weightless, and she really would be in the air, but she couldn't be seen not even by herself. Wind transportation by a Zephyr turned one to just that, wind. They were both granted the experiance by the horses for a few minutes, both soon melting back into solid visible forms a good hundred feet from the fortress, both at full gallop, skidding to a stop once they reached it. Piper looked at thier horses hooves. "Well look at that...Serino is one hoof ahead, looks like you win."

Zahara was laughing and racing along the ground watching Serino and Nerian fly. She leaned down closer to Serino's back and twined her hands even tighter in Serino's mane, holding on for dear life. Then some strange elvish word and she was...flying. It was the strangest feeling in the world, she was weightless, invisible, the wind. She flew along on the ground until finally she blinked and there the fortress was. Still holding on to Serino she looked at Piper her eyes sparkling, "I knew that would be fun. How did you get him to do that? I've definitely got to do that again." And she swung a leg over and hopped down petting Serino happily. "Nope I believe it's a tie. I think you just can't see it well enough with that surface elf vision." Thought she was more filled with joy over the time she had spent with Piper than anything else. A laugh and she waited for the other elf to get down then slung an arm over her shoulder, "So old friend, shall we head back inside then? After we put these two away of course."

Eliot had heard Warren coming down the staris, and thanked Aella for understanding. She hung her head a bit more, but then lifted it when he spoke. She was happy that he was actually comign to talk to her. "No no," she said quickly, "Its nothing you did, my emotions where... and besides I don't really know why you where so skinny... and well.. I'm sorry." She knew she was mumbling and she tried to clear he throat a little. "No, i had no reason to get angry, I'm sorry."
Daz and the pups could feel the waves beating at their bodies. At one point Daz thought the lake was actually trying to drown him... on purpose! They had no choice but to turn around for shore.
They all washed up like dead fish, caughing water and sand from their mouths. Well so much for swimming, thought daz. now what? he had no money for a boat and didn't know whom he could trust. The only thing he could think to do was to get the pups to the wizard Eliot had made friends with. He was sure Roarke would be able to help him find homes for the pups.
He stopped staring at deep water and turned to make sure the pups where okay. And there was Roarke, holding a very wet and unhappy looking Jude.

"It's what Zephyrs are all about...they can be the wind, they can make thier riders the wind, be anywhere in the blink of an eye. Wonderful experience isn't it? They do it as naturally as we breathe. They can do it at whim or you can tell them to do it. All you have it say is ve' i' sul or in common, like the wind." A little shrug as she dropped down off of Nerian and pet his nose before Zahara slung her arm over her shoulder. "Oh really a tie? Damn this lack of dark vision." A laugh as she waved at the two horses and they took to walking themselves back to the stables. "They'll put themselves away, they're smart. But yes, inside safe and sound." Which she took to walking in stride next to her friend. "See what they're all up to..."

Warren couldn't exatcly say that he understood, and he was confused as to why he was being appologized to, but he didn't push it. He was too tired to drag out the issue. "Yeah, I was kind of...really sick as a kid. My body just can't get strong because of it." And he wouldn't elaborate. He didn't like thinking about it as it was. He cleared his throat, still feeling like he was supposed to say something. "Um...it's okay.."
Roarke looked at the pup who seemed surprised and very frightened that it was picked up in the first place. Then loooking back to the strange...dog?...that he was certain he knew. "Just so you know, I'm not trying to pick you up but...have I seen you some place before?" Goodness, they all just looked wretched didn't they?

"That's very neat. Like the wind, I'll remember that. and to keep my end of the bargain, to say it in Drow, it's saph l' su'aco." She continued walking along and finally entered the house with Piper at her side and laughed, "Indeed, we'll just have to let me look and make sure we know the real winner, that's all." She walked along with Piper until they came back to the dining room and ran into Laudi who was sitting there rather patiently, "Finished already? Can I see what you made from my genetics?"

Eliot looked to Warren and beamed. She wasn't sure she came off clearly but he wasn't upset and thats what mattered. "WEll you seem to have made up for it. You're intelligant, and a wizard."
Daz gave a very dog like laugh and let himself into his human body. He wore only a pair of green pants, cuffed benath the knee, and a large band at the waiste. "It's good to see you again Roarke." He smiled man thank god.
"Okay kids, i think the danger might be over." And becaus eneither he nor the pups felt any danger, the pups went back to their half pup half human forms. Roarke suddenly found himslef holding a child with a loin cloth. shaggy hair, puppy ears and tail. tufts of fur aroudn arms and shins. human hands and feat but rather large claws. Jude looked up at Roarke a little shyly, "Hi." he yipped.

Luadi smiled pleasantly. "Why of course. She is rather primitive yet, she won't understand you, though she will remeber." She unfolded the cloth and set it on the table. Sitting there was a fairy mutch like Raziel with a few subtle diferences. Onc being that it was female, two being that her hair was white, and reached far down her back. Another might note that she had ebony skin, but strange enough it had blue highlights, like a saphire. The other was that the resemblance to Zaharah was stricking. She wore something much like a toga, and her hair and wings were still wet and klining to her.
The little fairy looked Zahara curiously, lareg eyes blinking in the dim light.

Waren cleared his throat but didn't answer. He didn't agree with her on that, but he didn't feel like making her angry again. Outside, the wind howled. "Kinda sounds like a storm outside." He put hand to his forehead, trying to keep himself awake in front of the warm fire. "So um...how long was I out?"
Roarke fumbled a bit under the weight of the puppy-child. "My goodness! Kids sure do grow fast these days, don't they?" He smiled though. "Forgive me for not recognizing you, Daz. Not really how I last saw you." He set the little one he was golding down by his feet. "Hey there. You guys sure lok hungry. Shall we go back to my palce and get semthing to eat?"
Without asking questions, or taking the time to consider what had happened or what will happen or anything other than the well being of his fellows, Roarke ushered them onto a raft to start heading to his academy.

"Saph l' su'aco." Oh yeah, she still basically spoke it through her nose...or at least it sounded like that. An accent was highlighted in the words as well from the natural lilt in her voice from speaking surface elvish. Seeing Laudi she sobered a little but then blinked as she set down the little familiar for them to inspect. "She's adorable, what's her name?" Then a look to the familiar herself. "Hello there little one." Then a look between the new familiar and Zahara. "Wow...except where'd the blue tinges come from?"

"Oh you have a really cute accent when you speak Drow Piper." She turned her attention to the little familiar seated on the table and smiled softly. "She certainly does bear a resemblance to me." So this is what others saw except...Piper's comment and a glance at her own skin. "Indeed. I have no blue in my skin, where did that come from?" She wanted to reach out and touch the little familiar but didn't and merely waited for Laudi's answer.

"A week or so." Eliot replied, and noticing that his eyes were drooping, "Maybe you should go back to bed. After all now you should actually be sleeping instead of a coma induced state. You can eat some more when you wake up."
Daz smiled and bretahed a heavy sigh. The closer to Deep Water they had gotten the harder it had been to find food, and all of them had growling stomachs. "Thanx Roarke. These are the pups that are left over from the pack. All but Kuro, "He pointed to another wolf child that had red tinged fur instead of blue, "She was the only survivor from another pack farther south. It seems the reast of the pups have etheir fled or died. I can't find any of the other packs. I have no idea what happened to them." he watched the raft full of pups of wide eyes and currosity for a moment. They had never seen a raft before. "These pups need places to live Roarke. I can't look after them alone. I was hoping you might know some families willign to take them in?"

"Ummm." Well, he was practically asleep already. Sheet wrapped around himself before the fire, he was quite comfortable. He leaned his head on Eliot's shoulder, his breathing getting deep and even.
"You don't say?" Interesting. He hadn't known there were that many packs out there, hadn't known that you wouldn't be able to find them either...
"Families? Ah well there aren't many families around academy, all single students, you know? But have have lots of room, I'm sure I could take them all in, even you Daz." he held out his arms as the raft dropped them off by the Wizen Watch Tower Ruins. "I could take in lots of people! But don't let to many people know, I can't afford to get swarmed with refugess." He put his hands in his pockets. "Although I'd like to."
"Her name is Tahru."
Taru was loking at them both very curiously, and smiled a bit when Piper spoke directly to her. Her knees on the table, palsm flat on the table in front, she looked very much the excotic little curiosity that she was. Laudi just smiled, tapping her nose. "I'm sorry, I am not at liberty to disclose that information." Indeed, she would not say anything about it. She held out a hand toward her new familiar. "She is not shy you know. You may inspect her. And then Raziel needs to meet her, and tell her what he knows."

Eliot stayed were she was, quite content to have Warren on her shoulder. It felt good, although if Warren had been well she was sure he would never have done so. She wondered of something as simple as laying your head on someone's shoulder meant sexual intentions in the society? Well she wouldn't bring the matter up now. She let Warren sleep.
Daz sighed. "Yes there used to be many packs. some where small but they were still independan of the ours. I had some friends, and I'm sorry they're gone."
The pups lept onto the shore and ran in every direction. "Hey!" Daz shouted while getting off the raft as well. "Jus because I said it felt safe does not mean you can run off and play yet. everyone back." Eight wolf children gathered around daz, a little crest fallen but soon engolfed by what was around them once more. "You could take us all? Raorke... do you know what eight wolf pups can get into?" He said quietly eyeing them from the corner of his eye, voice low.
