Since this thread gets the most attention I'll just say it here: This guild has become a lie. Most of the members just sit around here and do nothing about the spam, others have become rather hostile. Both of these types of members have left those who actually try doing something with more of a challenge as there is less help dealing with the problems. Some people seem to have even forgotten about morals, thinking that "Hey now that I'm one of the 'helpful' people I can be rude and call it helping."
This problem, combined with my hatred for a few of the more unbearable members, has convinced me to leave. See you guys around and hopefully you'll get the act together, or you'll simply fall apart.

Locke Trufeld Random Poll!: Do you guys use coasters? o_o Q: If yes, what kind?
A: I use cork coasters. o_o I don't usually use coasters, we usually don't even have any out to use, but right now we do since it's Christmas time, because we have this cute little Christmas thing that has these coasters you pull out. I haven't used them yet though. xd

There are times people just don't have...time, Rolf. As I understand it, you are currently un-busy with homeschool work. You're free of things to do...this naturally means you spend more time on Gaia. That aside, as a homeschooled individual I would imagine you have far more free time than, say, someone in college or with a job. Aside from that, I would never dedicate all my free time to Gaia, or even a majority of my time; I doubt most of the other guild members would either. I have a girlfriend, real-life friends, videogames, and even other things on the internet which I need to attend to. Quite frankly I don't think I'm being unjust in saying a lot of us are tired and somewhat dejected by the recent changes in the VGD. Sure, we exist to prevent those changes and maybe our absence is why they're coming about. But that's beside the point.
People have lives, Rolf. Part and Ember are in college taking what I understand to be a very trying course, Trajedy works two jobs AND is taking college courses, a large number of our members are public-schoolers, and that's just the ones I know. Myself, I have a decent enough amount of free time being out of school and with no job, but I've got a number of other things to attend to, first and foremost my girlfriend. You don't seem to understand that not everybody has as much free time as you. Sure, I'll admit it, I don't go to the VGD as much as I could. But to call us a bunch of lazy bastards just because we have more of a life than you is either the result of jealousy or stupidity. I'll leave the decision on that one up to you.
Anyway, I'm not making an effort to get you to stay. Frankly, considering the personality clashes which seem to revolve around you, I think it's a good idea. They aren't your fault, perhaps, but if you don't mesh with people, you don't mesh with people. HOWEVER, if you want to start insulting people, then there's going to be some serious exchanging of words. You don't have to walk in the shoes of others, but you could at least be so kind as to look at them, don't you think? stare

Rolf Eusis I know you people have lives, however when you're on you're not usually where you should be to help out. So everyone should just be working in the VGD whenever they're on Gaia? Rolf Eusis I never once called you guys 'lazy bastards'. Your asumption on that is either from stupidity or a twisted view on what I say, and I'll leave that decision up to you. You called the guild a lie. You said we either sit here and do nothing or be hostile, and that some of us have lost our morals. You ended your resignation by saying "hopefully you'll get the act together, or you'll simply fall apart". Maybe you weren't calling us lazy bastards, but you were certainly saying something unkind. I believe that can be said without being the result of stupidity or a twisted view. Rolf Eusis The first part of this I understand as I've always had personality clashes with everyone I come across. The second part however confuses me. How can you say I dont look at someone's situation before I 'insult' them? I know some of you have jobs and school, I know many of the members are children, and I know what I'm talking about when I say something about someone. though I usually word things wrong, resulting in many misunderstandings, but that's just my problem with putting things into words. sweatdrop I reiterate: you called our guild a lie. You said that, of the members here, essentially all of us but you were either not doing our "jobs" (I'd say that qualifies as lazy), mean, or immoral. I consider those insults. And don't dare say you understand how our lives work, Rolf...have you taken CS courses in college? Have you had a girlfriend? Have you had a job? Even if you have, can you really say you understand the details of our respective situations well enough to say we're lazy/mean/immoral? I make no assumptions your life is easy...bipolar disorder is something I can't possibly know the difficulties of, I know there are good reasons you don't go to public school, and I know there are many other details to your life which I cannot understand. But you're not dealing with some of the stuff people like Ember, Part, Traj and I are. Remember that.

What I ment by "Hopefully you'll get your act together, or you'll simply fall apart" is that without something being done things will continue to worsen and then the guild will indeed fall apart.Quote: Rolf Eusis The first part of this I understand as I've always had personality clashes with everyone I come across. After saying "Use the sticky, use the subforum, use the right forum, use the official thread, dont flame newbies, ect." over and over, day after day I just cant keep at it as I hate repetiveness. If the work load was spread out better it would not have worn me(and probably many others) down to the point where it just doesn't matter.
No I haven't done anything with college. No I haven't had a girlfriend, nor will I ever. Yes I've held a few jobs. A paper route for about 3 months before the lack of sleep got to me, and at Cal-Dak Cabinets (building cabinets and other stuff for kitchens and stuff) for a little over a month before the lack of sleep and lung problems got to me. Asma(spelling?) and laquer(spelling?) fumes do not work well together.
Anyway if you people'd just do something about the problems more often I wouldn't see you as lazy here. I know you guys aren't lazy in the real world(well most of you anyway, some of you I wonder but not too much) but you do next to nothing but spam away here when there are problems that need to be taken care of.

Tried to stay out of this, but something worth commenting on.
Just because you don't see them working doesn't mean they aren't, Rolf. People keep different hours than you, and people who work the same time you do might comment in a thread and get it removed before you even see it.
I haven't been in the VGD for over a month. I feel bad about that. But school > Gaia. I do check in here each day, since I can pop in and out of the guild without a major time commitment. Being in the VGD requires a couple hours of solid watching and posting, since it moves at a much faster pace than the guild.
And I've run out of stuff to say. xp
EDIT: If you really wish to leave the guild, I'll remove you in a couple days. Sound okay?

However when there is an insane amount of spam and there are several Paladins sitting around here BSing and the spam just sits there that shows a lack of working.
Hours my a**. Maybe a few months ago it was like that, but now just click the link to the forum and there's 2 to 5 spam threads right there. ANd it only takes a minute to redirect someone and report the thread unless your connection truly sucks.
Fine by me.

Well... I must report about 10+ threads and redirect people to the right places everyday... Well other than the last two days because I'm deciding to give the mods a lil' break from me.
Also the guild helps me do my job... I wouldn't be bothered reporting if I didn't have somewhere to remind me that there are real gamers.
As well as alot of people who arn't in the guild are reporting and redirecting... So we've shown alot of people what to do. Less work for us, I guess.
