Maria was sleeping better now, curled up on her side and with her hair draped over her face. She occasionally murmured something in her sleep, but it sounded like gibberish through her arm and hair.

Shiro stood at her door, listening to her. He soon heard her mumbling something, but he couldn't make it out. So he quietly entered her room and gently moved her arm, then moved her hair from her face, wanting to hear what she said.

Maria didn't wake up when Shiro adjusted her, and she didn't speak for a short pause, before murmuring, "Shiro....safe...."

Shiro heard his name then felt his cheeks light up. Even the tips of his ears were prickling with heat. He moved a blanket over her more to keep her warm before going to leave her to sleep and maybe drink something.

Maria curled up under the new blanket, smiling in her sleep and allowing her dreams to carry her off. That was one thing she enjoyed about having a soul: being able to dream.

Shiro sat in the living room, wrapped in a warm blanket, wondering what he should do. He obviously felt something for Maria, but what should he do? Should he tell her? Or let her come to him? This was all so confusing...

Only a little while later, Maria woke up, tucked into bed. She frowned, confused, and sat up, before remembering the priests. She vaguely remembered having a dream meaning...They'd succeeded. She had a soul again. The next thing her thoughts jumped to was Shiro. Was he all right? She quickly got up and went down the hall. He wasn't in his room. So, she tentatively headed down the stairs, to see that he was sitting in the living room. He looked all right...

Shiro continued to sit there, not hearing Maria come down. He growled, ruffling his black hair in frustration. "Gah! What am I supposed to do?! I can't just go up to her and say I like her! She frickin' hates me! I hate this!! I need food." he grumbled, burying his head in his arms.

Maria almost jumped when Shiro started to speak, but what he said made her blush. He liked her? Did he mean that... Like he liked her, or that he didn't hate her? She wasn't sure which one she preferred, since she didn't even know her own feelings. Her heart was beating faster than usual, and she gulped. She sat at the top of the stairs until her cheeks cooled down, before slowly picking her way down the stairs. "You okay?" she asked quietly.

Shiro jumped when he heard her on the stairs and then her voice. He looked back at her before quickly turning away, feeling his face heat up again. "Y-Yeah... Fine.... You sleep okay?"

Maria frowned a little at Shiro's jumpy behavior, and wondered what it had to do with what he'd said. Did he really think she hated him? That she would hurt him, or something? She swallowed a little. "Yeah, fine," she said dismissively, before approaching the raven and putting a hand on his arm, glancing him over. He looked okay... Better than before. "Do you have a fever?" she asked, noting his flushed face. She pressed the back of her hand to his cheek, then his forehead. "You do. Are you feeling sick?"

Shiro blushed more when Maria put her hand to his cheek then his forehead. She then asked him if he was feeling sick. "M-Maybe... I don't know... I haven't transformed in a long time. I don't know the side effects." he grumbled, trying to stop the blushing.

Maria frowned and tugged him over to the couch he'd gotten up from, pushing him down. "Then lie down, for god's sake! The last thing you should do after something like that is just wander about! I'll go get something for you to eat. Stay put," she ordered firmly, before heading towards a kitchen she'd noticed earlier. Since the market would be closed, she'd have to cook.

Shiro blushed more as she forced him down onto the couch. But he laid there obediently as she went to go cook. He curled back up in his blanket. Maybe a nap would help calm him... So he drifted off to sleep.

Maria decided to make some simple chicken breasts and rice. It was easy, and the ingredients were there for her to use. She checked up on Shiro once after she started the rice, smiling a little to see him asleep. It would give her time to make the food, without worrying that he was hungry.
