And for every adult resolution there was a playful response! "But what if I don't want to be left alone by you~?" It probably did no good to make eyes at someone so heavily armored with obliviousness, but she did so anyway. As much as someone with all of one eye could, anyway, grey eye beholding him prettily and adoringly as she smiled despite pouting some. "Heh~ Your attention means that you care, I think, and I certainly won't be telling you to care any less about me." If he offered her more, of course she'd snap it right up. The base expectation seemed to remain at tolerating her, though, even if the situation seemed to be past that if they enjoyed spending time together.
And with his word choice alone, her coquettish nature and teasing was instantly quieted. Acknowledging the two of them together, regardless of what sense it'd been meant, was precious to her. She'd existed without him and would likely persist should she ever lose him. Though. The robot had compared him to a parasite, hadn't he? Well. For any clinging he'd do, surely she'd end up clinging twice as hard. She was no better. Both rather pathetic, but... "Mm. We would." The eye that had been flirty before looked upon him with bright affirmation. Of course she wouldn't mind being pathetic, if it meant being pathetic together. Typical sappy logic. Though it was difficult to find any bright spots when it came to the matter of time. "In a way. Seemingly endless time isn't as glamorous as one might think." But it was another of those subjects she didn't want to do more than lightly touch upon so casually, so turning it upon its head only came naturally to her. "And yet, it hardly seems enough when it comes to spending time with you~" And there it was; she'd found the sugary little thought hiding in that overly heavy subject and presented it to him with her usual airy sighs.
And somehow Amarante was quite helpful, despite still being very much caught up in her own ideas about dating. "That's right, though you'll need my access codes. Though any number of steps may be skipped by advancing you to a place along the way that I've seen and still fits in with your process of checking in." Keeping him as safe as she could manage was more important than going about things in any sort of normal fashion. Though with any sort of practicality she displayed, the impracticality was never far behind. "Though, before you leave..." Already her voice was timid, implying she thought she was asking for something that was still out of reach for her. "I'd still very much like the hug I asked you for before, if you're up to it." Not a bit of sarcasm to be seen, and certainly no bitterness either. Pushing him to his limits would only leave her with any number of frozen appendages and a healthy amount of self hatred. Maybe she wasn't always so great at remembering all that, but it still remained as her innate intention. Still, she'd already promised to clean and had settled her mindset into an infinite time and amount of cleaning to be done to aid him in being more comfortable with her closeness. All totally practical! In an impractical sort of way.

Right! He had completely forgotten her doors had codes. And guess who did not know a single one! At least she saved him from an embarrassing wait at the door just because someone could not open it. "Okay, then do you mind if you take me back to the hospital lobby? Or just the front yard would do, if you don't want to go in." The warden would circle her if she entered, probably.
Of course he would know that, he had to be a sounding board for an immortal creation's blabbering how many times now? But even then, immortality was not something he was looking forward to, strange for someone in a profession whose job was to stave off death. ".... What, is my expected lifespan too short?" No, idiot! Don't look so shocked about it! She's not talking about lifespan at all! "It would be more memorable, then. A constant is easily forgotten. Maybe it's better that way." Ey, enough philosophy already. Leave the thinking to someone else who did not have to worry so much.
A hug. Er. Forgotten. But she asked. Hey, it could be practice. Hey, it could also make hell freeze over. It would be funny either way. No sating him in any one way about it, huh. If he can't sate his requirements, then sate someone else's! Stiffly he held out his arms - hey, he was taller than her, should his arms angle down or up? Should he bend down a little? No, that would be akin to making fun of her height. Crouch? She's not as short as Marie. Can he hug her and keep a grip on everything at the same time? Quite clearly not. How about putting down the tray and drinks first to free one hand? Or well, he could always - no. But if anything she had better get a move on before he dragged on the awkward moment standing around like a scarecrow.
Oh yeah, he promised not to freeze. Right. Just close his eyes, brace himself for impact, check for any leaks in the system...

Hurray, she could still help! In such a small and possibly needless way, but it certainly was enough to delight her. "Heh, of course I wouldn't mind. And I could give you the codes for a later time, if you like." Which she'd meant to do anyway regardless of the repercussions that might end up having. Would he need them written down? Or would simply seeing the numbers be enough? Regardless, her mind was already made up when it came to the options of the issue. "The front yard, then." Not without confirming she hadn't made her decision based on fear, though. Entirely, anyway. "Not so much not wanting, as a matter of ease. Hard enough to let you go, as it is~" She flopped back in her seat, showing a comically exaggerated form of exasperation as she did.
Only to be right in his face the next moment. Grey eye met red as she looked up at him with quite the amount of determination showing. "Wrong!" Though of course her fierceness was quick to soften, regarding him with a tender quiet instead. "I could never forget about you." Whether he was being modest or simply hypothetical, apparently he wasn't getting away with it. Her face was assuming that sad kitty in the rain look and everything as her mouth twisted into a pout! "And I--" Her heart was in her throat but again she'd been able to stop herself. She'd mean it, if she could ever say it. But it was too much to tell him, wasn't it? He'd end up knowing eventually. But, not today.
And being that she was already directly before him, the impact involved with closing the short distance left between them was likely much softer than he might've expected. The softness of she herself probably factored into that some as well. Hardly someone expected to be cushiony and botanically-scented based on her habits and hobbies, but being that she hadn't been smoking or drinking recently she was lacking those unpleasant smells on her person for the time being. Just a sort of subtle floral scent that was unlike the average perfume. It was more earthy, peppery, and plush. Easily written off as 'flowers,' but still distinctly her. An invasion of scent was likely the last of his thoughts, though, being that he'd been carefully embraced within her arms. Her face was against his chest, too, as if she wasn't already indulging herself enough. But none of the usual attempts to further her position were taking place, nor was she uttering any weird and sentimental sayings either. Seemed she'd been easily calmed by the enveloping cold settling in, the slowed soft warmth of her breath and steadiness of her heartbeat easily felt. There might've been a tremor, but lest he mistake it for a shiver, a content little utterance of his name might suggest otherwise. "Erhard." Or it might serve to short out his sense of peace even further, as she was a lot for any one person to take in even when she wasn't attached to one's body. Oh well! Any freezings she'd ever get she'd clearly deserve, though at present it would certainly complicate the matter of getting him home. They were in totally the wrong century to try to pass him off as an ice delivery, too. Bother!

Think about nothing, think about nothing, think about - oop, tripped the failsafe. She would feel the sudden drop in body temperature through his clothes, right? Even if it was one or two degrees? That was the fastest the failsafe could respond, anyway. At the very least, she need not be shocked at it, she's seen it at least once before anyway! So just let her enjoy her moment, and while she was at it, he could also quit being a scarecrow and just put his arms, slowly, around her shoulders, leave them there, and done. And now to change the set of eyes before she noticed the tint difference.
And.
Blank.
Well, looks like he still had quite a bit of brushing up to do. Like not having his train of thoughts spontaneously poof into thin air the moment someone hugged him and no ice age happened. What was he supposed to say? What did he need to say? All forgotten in the moment. He was going to get killed, murdered, splattered on the wall when he got back, but it was somehow, illogically worth it.
Yeah she was still hugging a lamp post now, wasn't she. Gone stiff and dumb, much like a corpse. Morbid. Try again. Like a... Like a pillow? A pillow frozen in ice and she was melting it just by being th - sappy, sappy, disgustingly sappy! She would notice the lack of reaction. Just like last time.
Funny. That might warrant more st - she is not to be treated as a test subj - still would warrant more study anyway. Besides, putting aside both parties' not-so-nice sides, she still was the more human of the two. Might as well learn from her, right?

The quiet gasp that'd come forth involuntarily along with its accompanying trembling was unlikely to help matters. Oh, but there was more! A helpless little utterance choked its way out from a throat that was too tight. "Ah, it's as if my heart could burst." She couldn't actually freeze herself, but it seemed like she was doing her best impression of it by being as still as she possibly could. There was no cover of sound, either, as the room was perfectly quiet. She'd have to explain herself, face reddening all the more as she made her attempt. "Just... it's just a saying. It won't, really. But..." She sounded so small, stripped down to her innermost self and completely vulnerable. "My... my happiness, just from being like this... makes it feel that way." Her perceptions of her own weaknesses and downfalls were decidedly different than that of just anyone. Being seen without a stitch of clothing? Hardly an issue. Having to confess multiple times to have her message heard? Not much of a problem at all. But having her most private feelings both voiced and heard was something completely apart from all of that.
Maybe with experience he'd learn that she'd end up too dazed from being tangled within her own thoughts and feelings to really be bothered by his silence. And she was used to him being quiet, wasn't she? In the past the way she ended up rambling almost as if to make up for it seemed to indicate as such. She wasn't without concern for her perceived partner, though, suddenly lifting her head as she checked on him. "Are you all right?" Studying his face only did so much, but she'd always do it anyway. "Not... not frozen, at least." Still so blissfully happy, and not in any pain whatsoever. The cold almost seemed to have provoked a numbing feeling without actually losing sensation. She was still very aware about holding and being held but was doing her best not to put too much thought into it.
The thoughts that could collect were not always harmless ones, after all. And if she wasn't careful one of those ideas might end up escaping by the means of her mouth. Absent of most of her reason and in a way utterly intoxicated, it was through willpower alone that she bit back the words she felt helpless to avoid saying. 'Don't go.' For what purpose, though, between one that seemed unused to touch and one just a little too overwhelmed by it? Her baser instincts were muddling her brain greatly. With some persistent struggle she assured he wouldn't be awkwardly caught there forever, though. "Any... anything else you need, before you go?" It was a vocal cue that he could let her go at any time, even if she was incapable of initiating the release. No, it seemed too impossible to do so herself when she'd acquired something beyond precious to her. Ah, if only he'd hold her a little more tightly. But the awkwardness setting in and messing that up wouldn't do. No, one of them misjudging the situation and her crunching through his body cavity wouldn't be endearing or funny at all!

"Err. Errrr." Error, error, error! The little kitty's got his tongue and no, she's not letting go of it anytime soon apparently. Best answer he could give with those circumstances? "N-Nothing else." That he needed. What about stuff he wanted? Not important. Hey, why can't his arms move back? Oh great, was someone trying to make things longer and more awkward for the both of them? Why, the warden might just be surprised to find a fusion of two abominations at the hospital doorstep just because neither could muster up the courage to let go! And it would be all the more likely.
Oh, maybe he was still frozen. Just that the ice was not that obvious. Hooray, and just when he thought he was doing so well, he freezes up and she probably might not have noticed. Expressionless, numb, such an ice statue, otherwise someone would have balked a long time ago. Balked or grabbed the stethoscope to check what's wrong with her heart, in the more literal sense as his mind so logically put it?
Okay, they can probably stop now. Hello? Cut? Somebody had better shuffle off before she got frostbite from hugging him. Hello? It is safe to let go! Nope, no response anywhere. He was going to be late now. And the warden would question him. Can't exactly say that the reason he was late was because he could not - or would not? - get himself out of a goodbye hug? Would that even be accepted, or would he just get one more of those tired sighs and disappointed looks?

While she was accustomed to his tendency to be quiet, she definitely noticed the lack of a scolding or sarcasm in response to her thoughtless comment. Again she looked him over... he wasn't moving at all, was he? But he seemed to have made it through the hug itself just fine. If there was a problem wouldn't he have immediately frozen himself and been unable to answer her question? Any correlation there might've been between what she'd said and done after the initial embrace and his freezing wasn't obvious to her. And while she was certainly concerned and oddly didn't see it as an opportunity to keep him further... her head ended up against him again anyway. "What am I going to do with you~" Nothing more than gentle teasing, of course. There were already so many things she insisted on doing for him whether he liked it or not. Love him, protect him, feed him, worry over him, take care of him. All of those and more, for as long as she was able. The role she'd joked over seemed to be one she was strangely suited to fill. For the moment there'd be no getting caught up in thoughts over all that, though, as her present elation took precedence. Unsurprisingly, as she was exactly where she'd wanted to be for quite some time. Somewhere no one should have wanted to end up, and surely somewhere few would survive! And yet there she was, a catty little anemonefish peacefully within the tentacles of her chilly sea anemone. Maybe she'd wake up with stiff muscles from the unceasing cold and maybe sometimes they'd be lacking sleep completely due to the insomnia or nightmares of one of both of them. The impossibility of sharing a resting space with him still appealed to her greatly though, and for mostly innocent reasons too. To the point of the idea of inviting him over to nap occurring to her, strange as it was and mostly dampered by how badly it would surely turn out. Even if both her invitation and his understanding for that sort of odd occasion were likely to be wholly innocent, interference and looming awkwardness were sure to ruin it and try to drag them into the gutter regardless.
And it seemed that the gutter in question was active that day as well, leaving Amarante with quite the realization when she finally attempted to start pulling herself away to free him. She herself was pulling away, but her clothes were not. Surprise! They'd been frozen against him. And back she went, somewhat closer than before and clinging to him more too as she was left both dizzy and flushed. Really! Some torn clothes would hardly be a problem but past experiences suggested that he'd freeze himself over even more in that case. How to work on that. Did he even want all that? Nevermind! Hardly the thing to be thinking about when she was acutely aware of further bodily damage that could be incurred. Head hanging backwards and upside down as she assessed the situation, she spotted the cat androids still faithfully holding the book, and... looking on. Well. Dai seemed to be quite enthralled, hearts visualizing upon her display. Sen on the other hand was averting his line of vision in an attempt to give them some privacy. Ah, no matter. They could understand her so they could help!
"Dai, Sen. Heat panel mode, please." Raising her own body temperature might've done the trick as well but it was hardly something to do to a frigid individual she wanted to encourage to touch her more, was it? And though both acknowledged her command by reforming their shells into normal mode, Dai spun her head a little in confusion. "But you were just getting to the good part! And now you can wake him with true love's kiss and--" "That would only make things worse!" Why, why did everyone think that was so funny. Putting her exasperation aside Amarante repeated her request. "Heat panels, please." Zipping over and positioning themselves on opposite sides of the unfortunate situation, thin panels for radiant heat rose from the back of their shells and lightly warmed the two of them. With a sigh of relief her head was of course back to his chest as she waited for the result. No torn clothes, no ice age, no damaged appendages or true love's kiss either, no! Damp clothes and a damp carpet were downright tame in comparison.

How embarrassing... And this time, there was no convenient cover of external ice to hide that awkward flush. Yeah, he failed. After promising her to try not to freeze up too. Maybe it would be better to just curl up in a cocoon of ice after all. Oh well.
Hey, he could try and help them, right? They're putting in so much effort - sans Amarante kissing him or pulling away entirely of course, that would help so much less - he could at least crumble some of the ice! Or make use of that blush to melt at least his head! Oh, it was working, anyway. He held his position for long enough to let most of the ice get melted, then crumbled the rest with one drop of his stiff posture and collapsed into her arms. Not even a drop of water spilled, since someone was so frightful about getting her carpet wet! Her clothes on the other hand however... Well, they were a lot easier to dry than carpet, right? He did not just ruin her pretty clothes, did he? Uh oh. And just like that he starts panicking again.
"I-I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that, I..." Blah, blah. He still froze up, he still got her clothes wet, no gutters, and that certainly was not a way to be ending a social visit. Total grade, E for effort.

Even if what she'd wanted resulted in her being not only cold but wet too, Amarante's peaceful expression returned once she'd determined that Erhard seemed to be all right. It didn't feel adequate to simply have carefully caught him, but... she resisted. Their ideas of comfort still didn't quite match up though both did their best to compromise. For her, it was holding back. Any attempts to brush his hair out of his face or tenderly touch said face were just niceties she'd have to go without whenever she thought better of it. When he'd already frozen himself over a few times and was clearly panicking? Probably not the best idea. Though the first time was simply due to a vague idea she'd made clear and not really her fault at all!
She told herself that, anyway, as she helped him get back on his feet. While she finally did give him some space... whether it was being stubborn or that overwhelming need she felt to comfort him, her arms remained on his as she looked upon him with her usual amount of adoration as she did her best to assure him. Not the least bit upset about her clothes! Maybe a bit weird to have a creature of darkness looking at him so lovingly, but maybe he'd gotten used to that sight. "It will take time. And... practice?" Where she might've been expected to have been either shy or in opportunist mode, her voice just reflected some confusion. Kind of weird, wasn't it? Practicing hugs? But she'd already discussed practicing smiles without a thought to how unusual that might come across, so ehh. No problem! A happy bit of a nod indicated that she was satisfied with her own internal answer to her question. "And I'm not going anywhere, remember." Her hands upon his arms grasped at them a little more tightly. Just how much meaning was in her words had yet to be really tested, and just how far she'd go to prove it to him had yet to be seen. He might've had an idea, though, considering how quickly she'd turned on even friends that had tried to get between them. Such a complicated and hypocritical situation, though she was well aware of how it had left her looking. She could hardly be bothered by all that though, either her head injury or her usual sappy self factoring into her choosing to just get lost in dreamily looking at him instead. She was still somewhat coherent though, voicing the rest of her thought before it was lost. "So we have some time, I think." Well. Even asserting that much was pretty bold of her. Her actual thoughts were bolder still, even if they felt hollow a great deal of the time. Was it wrong to wish for forever even if she was aware it was unlikely she could get that? Hmm.
But she couldn't leave things on a depressing thought like that, no no! Her gaze fell to her arms upon his as she was willing to admit some defeat in the situation, though. "Things won't always work or fit together how we'd like, but..." Hesitant as ever as she let him go, her hands were withdrawn and collected into an awkward mass behind her person. Didn't want to let go and didn't want him to leave either. Oh well. Reality would always catch up to them whether they'd like it or not, but she couldn't help but struggle a little against it anyway. And even with the many hard smacks of reality, any injuries, and the many freezings she surely had coming... there was no hiding that delighted smile of hers. "Any setbacks or mistakes will always be outweighed by what I've gained by meeting you." She'd said so many sappy things to him, and she'd meant every one of them. The bright smile that'd went along with it dulled some with what followed, though, as she timidly admitted to herself that she was holding him up. "All set?"

"Practice. Yes." He sighed. Going to need lots of it, so much. Would the warden object to getting practice hugs? It was a lot more strange than practice smiles. Would Amarante get popsicle'd by accident if he tried practicing hugs with her? And he could not exactly be hugging cupboards, chairs or cadavers either. Well, not without further judgement, anyway. "R-Right. Um. Sorry." Got to get used to actually having someone to rely on now, and someone warmer than a person meant to only do his job.
Ah, and already the thought of leaving was forgotten. Yet again. He still had his things in mind at least, he could just get up and go if he wanted to. Now the question was wanting to! Who would want to leave such a peaceful segment to go back to a time of pressure and shock? But his feet were going to have to drag themselves to the door at this rate. He had to go. Good things could not last forever, anyway. The thought alone managed to force his intentions out, so was that good enough? ".... Yes. Thank you. Thank you for having me over." He had gathered enough strength from the embarrassment to lock his focus on her. For a few seconds before it kicked his gaze back to the floor. "I learnt a lot today, so thank you for that too." Oh hey, someone was learning how to talk like a sap too!

There was only one answer for that affirmation, wasn't there? "Practice with me all you'd like~" Of course her usual opportunist way of thinking would come into play. And yep, seemed like she'd accepted her fate of being frozen over and over again. It was like that old adage about a moth to a flame except the flame was a freeze and the moth wasn't so easily offed. The moth was more than happy to meet her icy fate again and again, weird little winged fuzzy that she was. Clasping her fingers together in front of herself, she looked to be quite pleased with even the small bit of acknowledgment she'd been given. "I'd like to help you in any way that I can, of course." Being able to offset the inconvenience she'd caused was the least she could do and naturally she wanted to do all that and more. She supposed there wasn't a need to say more for the moment, though of course her feelings over the matter were considerably more than just that. So many feelings and exactly the wrong sort of person to have to receive them. It seemed to have worked out well enough, though, even it was unlikely that there'd ever be much ease involved in the matter.
She did her best to not even so much as sigh, knowing all too well that it was easier to pretend to follow the rules than to blatantly break them. The selfish person that loved him in spite of and regardless of everything wasn't ever necessarily happy to part ways even temporarily, but that ever-present temptation to throw caution to the wind and abandon all responsibility for that selfishness still smoldered rather than blazed. Better to bear a temporary loss than a permanent one, for certain. That harrowing thought aside, she opened an oblong doorway to his destination as had been requested. The slice through time and space bore her glowing red energy signature of course, with a thin membrane of energy between locations to avoid destabilization on either side of the opening. And of course, its creator standing to the side looking wistfully happy about it all. He still had to go, but he'd thanked her! Thrice! Not to mention unquestionably looking only at her, at least for a moment. "You're always welcome. And if there's anything you need..." Her hands found themselves wrung together again. She averted her eye as she hesitated, only to look back at him with visible resolve. "You've but to ask." Seemed that the pretense of any exceptions she'd held on to been long since dropped. Reckless, so very reckless! She'd never learn her lesson, but what was a little safety when happiness was involved?

"I'll.... I'll keep that in mind." Well, she was here, she was not going anywhere, he could not come to visit whenever he liked but eh, good enough. He'd take that, certainly over flying files and wrecking-ball patients. Right. Now before the warden or any of the other staff noticed the doorway on the front yard that was most decidedly not the work of the diagnostician, he had better go. What was a good parting thing to do? A hug? A oh, simple. A pat on her head. There, that should do it.
"I'll see you again, Ama. I hope we had um, fun." Freezing her was fun, getting frozen was fun, watching the spectacle was fun. Right. Nope, never going to understand. Now, haul that butt through the portal and run up the stairs, quick before anyone else noticed! Don't - fall over. Again. Can't leave on a good note, this guy.

Maybe it was odd for her to have taken any mirth from his answer, but well. An irresolute answer was better than one of those quiet and confused stares any day! "All I could ask for, hnn?" He'd pretty much have to have a significantly altered state of mind to attack her with any sort of affection in all likelihood. Quite different from what she'd become accustomed to from others, but... quite nice. Her unceasing need for a rudimentary level of affection certainly tampered with what solace they could find in each other's company, but to a minimal effect. Not enough to make him dread seeing her, right? And as far as she could tell not enough to make him feel preyed upon either. He thought enough of her to still feel inclined to give her a nice pat upon the head before leaving despite bodily contact with her contributing to his frozen self all of moments before. She'd interpret it as that, anyway, as in return she looked to him with a bright appreciation.
But more than that, there was assurance. Even if it was mostly just a part of the process of saying farewell, she made no effort to hide the resulting giddiness that she felt. "Yes, we'll be seeing each other again soon!" Something to look forward to, something to dull that hollow feeling left from life's disappointments and failings. Before she could comment on the matter of fun, though, another voice chimed in. "So much fun!" Only to be nervously shushed by her creator. "Shh." Despite their best efforts at privacy and normalcy it seemed that even animals constructs found some entertainment in watching them, having drawn in closer open the door opening. And already they'd developed some fondness for the doctor despite having just met him. Luckily between the rabbits being fearful of the portal and the cats knowing better he wouldn't have any followers for the time being. Not even the big sappy one! And leaving a portal needlessly open for any amount of time was never a good idea, but... lingering for a few seconds as she pressed her open palm to the wavering layer of energy to initate the close as she watched him depart couldn't hurt, right? That task completed, she wouldn't waste any time to fulfill her promise to sanitize the affected areas in stead. After taking a moment to press that same hand to her chest to savor her memory of feeling so cozy and cold a short while previously, that is. So sentimental and so easily sated by all of hugs. And so enthused to what amounted to a lot of cleaning that was worth every bit of effort as far as she was concerned.
--

An anticipated day had opened to brisk weather and heavily-clouded skies. But more than that, lingering irritation. While the manager known as Mira enjoyed the responsibility that came with her job and the close relationship she maintained with her employer, she couldn't help but feel somewhat inconvenienced by the task she'd been left with on what she'd been told was a very important day. The redhead in question was nowhere to be seen, in fact, presumably kept up something either insignificant or particular in nature. And so, Mira had been tasked with relaying the information to the ribboned doctor that was expected. The finer details of the issue were lost on the likes of her, wondering as practically any person would why they couldn't simply call or text each other as anyone might expect. But her job was to assist and not question, so on she went with her usual responsibilities with the occasional impatient glance up the iron stairway as if it'd hurry Amarante along. A minute here, a minute there, another glance up to show expectation and across to check the elevator too... still nothing! Not as if a sigh and working a little harder would help either, but for the purposes of venting it worked perfectly!

Let's see. Normally, he would just stay in the comfort of his room instead of dragging himself outside, but nope. Someone had to pull a knee-jerk reaction. And of course it was on purpose. Not perfect, he had to work on that, but it was good enough, and laid the groundwork for the next round.
Which was now. This was the coffeehouse, right? Usual manner of throwing open the door was forgone today, instead he opted to simply push it open and walk in like any normal person would. Eh, they had their fair share of odd fellers here, surely one more would not make much of a difference. Besides, people could tote giant guns and swords around all day in this place without others batting an eyelid, so why should he care?
But that was not the important thing. The important thing was what he had, clutched tightly in his hand. It was free game, there was no one to pick it up, and she would have wanted to see it anyway. Logic, right?
So the blonde, sans wheelchair and annoying pets and grouchy expression, saunters up to the counter, flashing the biggest smile he could without tearing his mouth apart to the staff. "Pleasant weather, isn't it?" Loud as ever. "Nice and cooling, no chance of the sun coming out to ruin any plans." Not like the staff would know, probably. But this was not the first time she would be slacking off, right? Not even after her precious doctor said something about it. Eh, it was a big day for the both of them, so all things considered it was understandable.
But enough with the small talk! Time was not a free axis, not even for him. He dropped his elbows onto the counter, but did not drop his smile. "I want to see Miss Irazoki." Straight to the chase, the restrained laughter only held back by the edge of his teeth.

"Welcome, may I help--" The automated greeting was derailed by just who she'd ended up addressing it with. Was that... ? Mira had seen quite a few troublemakers during her tenure as manager but the one that had appeared before her was certainly unique in some respects. Surely he hadn't been the only one to attempt to snuff out the owner but she couldn't remember any others that had both lied in wait and that the owner had been unwilling to fight. An explanation had never been given for the latter nor had an order been issued to turn him away, either. It was certainly all unsettling enough for the comparatively normal Mira, especially with the elevated volume and... elation of the man before her. She'd definitely dealt with worse, but some intimidation could be seen in her reservations about him being there.
"It's nice enough weather to be spending in a cafe, anyway." Would he really care or even be listening to small talk from what was outside of some green hair a regular human being? Well, he'd mentioned it first. And some nervous pleasantries to keep his line of fire off of her might not be a bad idea. And really? He'd wanted to see the owner today of all days? That could hardly be a coincidence. But even so, she hadn't been given any orders to not be disturbed. She could only guess that there'd only be more aggravation to be had if she made the effort to lie, too. "She should be down shortly, if you don't mind waiting." She'd ask 'which one,' but he was unlikely to be looking for the younger one. Right?

The clicking of high heels upon the iron stairs was both an ease to Mira's nerves and the dawning of an apprehension towards what was to come. "I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm--" The rapid succession of clicks slowed to a steady pace as she spotted the unexpected guest waiting for her as she continued to make her way down the spiral. She certainly looked different with extra effort put into her styling. Though that guy did too, looking entirely too satisfied with himself for her comfort. Three grey eyes met as she looked up for a moment as she reached the ground floor. It certainly wasn't a sight that the other Miss Irazoki had wanted to see either, but she waited upstairs for the time being.
There was a pause where she had closed her eye for a moment, but there was no further hesitation in calmly making her way over to the blonde menace that surely was waiting for her. Once she was there, her concern was voiced immediately. "So, what brings you here today?" One of those niceties but not, without so much a hint of what she was thinking or feeling in either her tone or expression. Just a hand upon one hip as she held the handbag upon the other. He'd certainly get a reaction out of her anyway for whatever reason he'd showed up, but just seeing him apparently wasn't enough on its own anymore.
