The girls face changed almost instantly at the mention of parents, turning away, her head down with her arms dropping to her side, fists clenched. "Yeah....Parents...Sure..." turning back around she began walking forwards, clearly having no idea where she was going.

"Noci," Karinda began, her eyes softening as she took a step back toward the downcast girl.
She blinked in surprise as Plushy's tail wrapped around her, interrupting her next words to the child. A rush of wind encompassed Karinda and shot her upward, her hand gripping the hilt of her sword as she sped by, Saiirin taking to the air from the fountain.
"I beg your pardon, good dragon," she said to Plushy, one knee bent and the other straight as she floated in the air, her hair flailing in the breeze that surrounded her, "but I would much rather ride the wind beside you than upon your back."
She turned her blue gaze to Akuma as he introduced himself. The wind carried her and dropped her gently in front of the man, Saiirin's wings beating to keep her body level with Karinda's head from where she hovered to the girl's right.
"What is there to not be special about a library?" she inquired. "A library is filled with magic and wonder that is waiting for any brave enough to open the binding of a book! Now, if you would excuse me..." Her voice trailed off as her attention turned once again to Noci as the young girl turned around and walked onward with indecisive steps.
Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, she hurried over to the girl, the wind granting her extra speed as she stopped in front of Noci and bent down so she was eye-level with the girl.
Karinda! Saiirin scolded, landing a yard from her and Noci. What--
"Have you no parents?" Karinda asked Noci softly, placing the side of her pointer finger beneath the girl's chin and gazing into Noci's black eyes with their strange pupils.
Eliminating the barrier around her and Karinda, Saiirin hesitantly turned her eyes to the red dragon. Plushy, Saiirin directed her bitter thought at the red dragon, what hath made the girl a liar?

Noci shoved the caring hand of Karinda away from her face, avoiding eye contact "Like anyone cares" she mumbled, her fists still clenched "No one ever cares" she was speaking in an almost whisper by now. It was only at this point that you noticed something very, very odd about her eyes, besides the colour. She had no eyelids.

Karinda let her hand return to her side. She inhaled sharply as she noticed Noci's lack of eyelids.
Biting back the question, "What are you?" she instead moved her hand to the girl's shoulder and said, "Then 'tis time that someone shows you the falsity behind that statement. I know what it is like to lose your parents."
KARINDA! Saiirin roared in irritation, Karinda's head twitching in the silver dragon's direction.
Silence, Karinda responded. If this turns ill, we outnumber her greatly.______________________________________________________ Agrona resisted the urge to tap her fingers against the tabletop. Carissa sat across from her, a large crystal ball resting on a velvet-covered stand sitting before the woman.
Carissa had her eyes closed and a hand on either side of the crystal, leaving only a portion in the center visible to Agrona.
With an exasperated sigh, Carissa opened her eyes and looked to the sea demon, her gaze refusing to meet her unwelcome guest's.
"I-I'm sorry, Agrona," she stuttered. "That information isn't coming. I've seen those from the past who've entered, but all of them have died from one cause or another."
"Then force it to tell you!" Agrona hissed, her long, green-painted nails tapping against the wooden table as they had itched to do for the past ten minutes. "You've done it before, so do it again!"
Carissa inhaled and shook her head. "I did that once many, many years ago and was ill for weeks after. Also, if I force the information, then any Seer and Fortune Teller will have access to it. If any have tried before, they'll--"
"Do you think I don't know all that?" Agrona hissed, leaning so part of her upper torso was above the table. "Which is worse; the weeks of illness or a lifetime of dealing with me?" she snarled, showing off her shark-like teeth.
Carissa swallowed hard. "F-fine. I-I'll do it."

Noci turned her head slightly, not quite making eye contact, but close. "Yeah...Lose them...Sure" she finally made eye contact for a brief second before starting to walk off again "I guess i'll try to find that library then...Yeah..."((by the way, just thought i'd let you know, it's spelled Noci, not Noki, just me being picky))

((My bad! I was not paying attention to how I was spelling it. I will change that! Thanks for letting me know! mrgreen )) Karinda stood as the girl began to walk off again, turning to watch her a moment.
"Until we meet again, young miss," she said. "Mayhap we will meet at the library in a day yet to come."
With her sword still in hand, Karinda jumped into the air, the wind giving her enough momentum to return to Plushy.
"Prithee, great dragon, lead the way." She let the wind carry her a couple yards into the air, Saiirin quick to join her.

"Um, Mrs K, umm" Noc grabbed onto Karinda's arm before she could walk away, "Could I....Um...Come with you...Please?" she was shuffling on her feet, clearly nervous for some reason, "I don't......I don't want to be alone....Not anymore.."

((Do you want me to keep quoting you?)) The air around her died as Karinda felt the young girl grip her arm, her hand instinctively tightening around her sword only to loosen as she looked to the girl, who continued to speak.
Karinda, no! Saiirin hissed, the small dragon showing her fangs. We know not who or what she is!
Karinda glanced to the small dragon.
"If our guide consents, they aye," Karinda began, "though my dragon desires to learn of your race. N'er have we encountered one with eyes such as yours."

(Oh yes please biggrin that would help a bunch 4laugh also here's roughly what she looks like, just diff eyes.))"Oh...That..." The girl goes quiet for a moment as if in deep thought, her head slightly tilted "Well...I'm..Hm...I'm sorta, kinda...Hm, whats that word..." she bangs her head against her palm a few times before having a light-bulb moment. "Hanucani, I'm a Hanucani that's the word, well not exactly, I think I'm pronouncing it wrong...Oh well I'm the last so it doesn't matter really." she smiles a little afterwards, the sort of smile some people get all too used to using in place of tears.

((So you know, I will likely not be capable of posting during the week. Just a heads up!)) Karinda blinked in surprise, her head moving backwards a fraction. "A homunculus?" she asked slowly. "I heard rumors of such things.Will no one miss you if you join us?"
Saiirin snorted and dug her claws into the ground. What good am I if thou simply ignore me?
'Tis called kindness, Saiirin.
And many take advantage of such traits! the dragon snorted.

((That's fine biggrin by the by, she didn't pronounce it wrong, she just thinks she did, i'll explain her race later)) "Nope, can't think of anyone...Nope" she bends down to Saiirin, stroking her under the chin, for some reason this sends a high amount of pleasure and calm through the dragon. "Oooh she's so cute!" obviously trying to change the topic.

Saiirin snapped at the girl's hand, but the action fell short as Noci stroked beneath her chin, the dragon's muscles relaxing for the first time that afternoon.
Karinda gasped as the calmness surging from Noci into Saiirin tingled through her own muscles.
Gathering herself, she tightened her grip on the sword.
"What are you doing to her?" Karinda snarled, her sword raising a couple inches. "Remove your hand from her!"
((Oh, okay! Got it. biggrin I was not sure if it was a new Rikku-made creature or a mispronunciation!))

"Wha-?" Noci looked down at her hand and suddenly realized she had forgotten to put her gloves on. "I'm sorry, I guess I can't control my powers just yet... Not yet... Sorry Mrs K!" she pulls her hand away and shoves them into a pair of gloves matching her dress. The instant her hand left Saiirin the odd feeling went away too. ((I like the sound of that 'Rikku-Made creature' hehe biggrin ))
