Dante placed the flyer back on the bench. "What if I said never? That I'll never be ready? Then what would you say?" He asked the question, but was just messing with her. He knew he couldn't do that. He just wanted to see her reaction. "I'm just kidding. We all have to go home sometime." Dante began to think about what he would do. Where exactly did he want to stay? He always wanted to see how it was to live on the streets, but that was too extreme. Maybe he could stay with Victoria and help her. Even though he couldn't be his own support, he could be someone else, and maybe things wouldn't be so rough for him? He wasn't sure about that idea though. Should I consider getting an apartment? Dante asked himself. He knew he would have to leave home sometime. He was just confused about a lot of things. He needed to talk with Aria. She knew him better than he knew himself.

Victoria watched his face as he said the first part, thinking he was actually serious for a moment. She really didn't want to go home, she would be perfectly fine with sitting her all night just talking to Dante. He was her only real friend, and she sighed as she thought this. "I'll never be ready to go home," she said softly. A stray tear rolled down her cheek and plopped onto the cement, and she added, "It's not my real home. My home is when I was a child..." She thought of her parents, like she always did when she wanted to blame herself. They died because of me, she thought sadly. She smiled at Dante through her pain, which she was trying to hide behind her mask. She waited for him to say something, anything. Suddenly she burst out, "You could always stay with me...you know. Just until you get on your feet again.." She said this loudly and quickly, so she wouldn't change her mind.

Dante pondered this for a bit. He finally gave Victoria his answer. "If it's fine with you." Dante wasn't too sure about staying with her at first. He thought it would be a little weird since they just met, but it wasn't like they were moving in together. "I plan on looking for an apartment tomorrow. So it shouldn't be too long." He took out his cell phone. "I really don't want to walk. Plus if we get stopped by the cops, it wouldn't end well." He dialed the number for the cab.
"Yeah we need a cab at Tenth and Nebraska." Dante told the dispatcher. "Five minutes? Sounds fine." Dante hung up the phone.
Soon enough the cab pulled up and they got in. "Where are you headed?" the driver asked. Dante looked at Victoria. He couldn't remember the address and didn't want the driver to smell alcohol on his breath. He motioned to Victoria with his hand.

Aria smiled, lifted herself up, and kissed Daren.
"That's number 2, by the way. You know, in case you didn't know."
She smiled and went to the door. She was sure her mother and father were sleep and so she walked in through the front.
She plopped down on the couch and though about everything that had happened.
"Man...Life.."

Feeling refreshed, he smiled at her closed door as he walked off in the direction of his home, not knowing how much trouble he was in since it was after midnight. Victoria nodded, relived that she would have protection from Veto and his gang now. Pulled out of her thoughts by a poke in the arm, she glanced up from the seat of a cab to look at Dante. She bit her lip and told the cab driver softly, "Harrison street, Apartment #4."

"Ok." the driver said as he pulled away. He was a maniac. Like he was in a car chase or something. Dante thought he was going to die, and throw up at the first time. He gagged a little bit. Wouldn't have drank if I knew this was coming he thought as he held down his stomach. The arrived there not even ten minutes later. "Here you are. And kid, you're lucky I don't call the cops. I know you're not old enough to drink, but I do know the smell of it." the driver said as he took Dante's twenty. "Thanks I guess." Dante said as he got out.
He looked up at the apartment. "Well we're here. Shall we go up?" Dante said as he looked over at Victoria.

Victoria made many faces as the cab driver while he was driving, making sure he wasn't looking in the rear view mirror first. She hated his driving, and him even more when he told Dante his statement. When she got out, she felt like she was going to throw up, but didn't. She looked at Dante, a little green. "Your lucky I don't call the cops on your driving," she muttered as the cab drove away.

He placed his bags in one hand. With his free arm he wrapped it around Victoria, "All right now." He lead her to the door. He used his foot to kick it open so they could walk in. With each flight of stairs he searched for her apartment. Finally he found it, at least he thought he did, and he stopped. "I think this is the right one." He was tired, feeling the hang over coming, and just wanted to sleep. He was hungry but he didn't care. It could wait until the morning. He never really ate breakfast, but he knew his stomach was going to be killing him. He body was starting to show signs of alcohol abuse, mainly his stomach, but it wasn't too bad yet. Dante planned on stopping, or at least cut down, but it would take a lot of effort.

Victoria felt his arm around her and she smiled quickly at him, as they climbed the stairs. She could tell he was getting tired, as his feet grew more slow and his eyes had bags under them. She let him in and pulled him to the couch immediately, hoping he didn't notice how bad the place looked right now. The cat had thrown up a hair ball in the kitchen and cat food littered the floor. Victoria took his bags for him and set them on the coffee table. "I'm going to make you something, I'm sure your hungry." She said it quietly, and moved into the kitchen before he could protest.

"Thanks." Dante said as he sat there. He suddenly felt nauseated and got up and searched for the bathroom. He ran down the hall and looked in every door until he saw the toilet. He ran in and heaved. He didn't have time to shut the bathroom door, and he was sure Victoria could hear him. He heaved again and even more came out. Then he noticed a little bit of blood floating. "This can't be happening." Dante mumbled as before heaving again. He sat there for a few minutes and leaned against the wall next to the toilet. "Sorry." he shouted as he wiped his face. He looked over and saw more blood than before. "This is not good." he said quietly before flushing the toilet. He grabbed the rag off the sink and wiped his face off. There was blood around his mouth. He quickly wiped it off, and walked back out in the living room and hoped that he got all of it.
He went into the kitchen and grabbed a piece of bread off the counter. He looked around the apartment. It wasn't the worst place that he has ever been in, but it could use some tender love and care. "I'll make some calls tomorrow. You won't have to worry about all of this." he said as he walked back in the kitchen. "A few people owe me anyway." he said as he grabbed another slice of bread. He took a bite out of the bread. After taking it out of his mouth, he noticed that it had a light red color around the bite mark. He quickly ate the rest before Victoria noticed.

Victoria heard him shout something but didn't hear it; as the microwave was on, heating him up some soup in a bowl. She waited a few minutes and it was almost done. A few seconds later, she heard footsteps and she turned around, finding Dante standing there. He grabbed a few pieces of bread from the top of the counter, and she smiled at him, letting him know it was alright. He must have been starving. Alcohol doesn't usually make you less thirsty, it makes you hungry and thirsty as well.
So she decided to grab him a full glass of milk, and noticed that meant she had to go to the store once again, almost out. Dante had something before he went out, and she remembered it was something about her apartment, the cleaning...She decided to ask him later and she grabbed the soup from the microwave and took a napkin and spoon, putting them both in her right hand, and then grabbing the glass of milk in her right. Balancing them, she set them on the coffee table in front of Dante, and grinned at him proudly. "Hope you like chicken noodle," she said, praying that he did and she hadn't made it for nothing. She nodded at him stuffing the bread in his mouth and raised an eyebrow at him, laughing at the crumbs he made. "Hungry, I take it." She commented, laughing quietly before sitting on the couch next to him, and wincing at the squeaking sound it made when she sat down. She hated that, hated the whole apartment. She didn't dare look around in the bathroom and see what it contained, or her bedroom. She had seen enough mess and hairballs for one day. Deciding to speak again, bored, she said quietly, "What did you shout a couple of minutes ago? The microwave was on, I couldn't hear you." She shot him a glance that contained an apology.

"Thanks. Chicken noodle is fine. Anything right now is good." he said as he scooped up some of the noodles and broth. He took a few more bites. "Oh. I said I was sorry. I kinda got sick in your bathroom." He slurped some of the broth. He took a few more bites. "This is some good stuff. But yeah. Some of the guys owe me a couple of favors." he took another spoon full of the soup. He swallowed it and wipe his mouth with the napkin. "So I'll just have them come over tomorrow and do some stuff. I'll make sure the place is spotless before they are able to leave." He took another bite. The soup was almost gone. He was pretty hungry and he thought the more food in his stomach the less it would bleed. Seemed logical to him. "I'll also have them run to the store for us. They owe me a lot more than that, but I'll give them a break. Especially after tonight." Dante took the last couple of bites of the soup. He wiped his mouth again. He took of drink of the milk. It was nice and cold. He wasn't used to drinking milk. He couldn't even recall the last time he drank anything besides alcohol and pop.
He placed the cup back down. "Thanks for everything. I'll make it up to you somehow." Dante said as he took off his shoes. He was tired, but wasn't ready to go to bed. He had something on his mind, and even if he tried to sleep, he wouldn't be able to. "I'm going to make a call really quick." Dante said as he went to the kitchen. He dialed Diesel's number.
It rang a few times before he answered. Dante could hear music in the background along with talking. "Yeah Dante?" Diesel shouted over the loud music. "Hey can you watch over my mom while I'm gone?" Dante asked. "Gone where?" Diesel shouted. "She made me leave for a while. So I'm staying at Victoria's." Dante told him. "Yeah man. I'll stop by a few times a day for ya." Diesel talked quieter. It sounded like he went into a different room. "Thanks man. Hey is Mark and Jason over there?" Dante asked. "Yeah. Do you need to talk to them?" Diesel was going back into the loud room. "Yeah. Put Jason on the phone." Dante said.
Dante could hear the phone being passed around and his ear started to hurt from the background noise. "Yeah?" Jason asked. "Hey do you know how you and your brother owe me some favors?" Dante told him. "Yeah, why?" Jason was curious at what Dante wanted. "I'll let you work all of them off if you two come by Victoria's and clean for us. Oh and go grocery shopping for us." Dante told him. "That's fine. It's a hell of a lot better than what I thought you were going to say. What's the address?" Jason asked. "Harrison Street, Apartment #4. It's the first door at the top of the second flight of stairs. Be here at like ten in the morning." Dante explained. "Will do. Talk to you then?" "Yeah man. Make sure you're here on time. Take care." Dante said. "Will do." Jason hung up the phone.
Dante walked back in the living room and sat next to Victoria. "They'll be here tomorrow at ten." Dante exclaimed. He still had a few things on his mind, but it didn't matter, since they were always there.

Victoria heard him explain that he was sick and she frowned. She noticed he changed the subject immediately after that, but her mind wouldn't leave the thought. She nodded when he told her that he was going to make a phone call, but she heard nothing before that. She watched him go in the kitchen and decided she would watch him for the night, make sure he didn't throw up again. Worried for him once again, her thoughts wondered off as she heard a buzz in the background, which must have been Dante talking in another room. She blocked him out as she made a plan on how she would make sure he didn't drink for a couple of days. Make excuses to come along whenever he went out somewhere, maybe? She knew she was being a little personal and nosy, but she was his friend and she wanted him to grow up and get a job, (If he even needed one, she thought suspiciously) not to die in a young age because of drinking. He came back in the kitchen after she arranged her thoughts, and he explained something about someone being here at ten tomorrow morning. Confused, she replied back, "Who? Who will be here?" She then felt bad for not listening to him, but remembering what he said earlier, she frowned at him and shook her head. "Dante.." She began softly. She already gave him enough lectures for one night, and decided to drop it.

"What? It's just two guys. They're coming to repay a favor by cleaning and going grocery shopping for us. That's all." Dante replied. She probably thinks I was going to drink or something Dante thought. It was a foolish idea for him to think, because he has drank that early before. Dante sat there for a few minutes. He leaned forward and felt light headed, so he sat back again. "Well, now that you're part of this whole fiasco that I'm in, is there anything that you want to know?" Dante said as he stretched.

Victoria frowned again when she heard this. "Dante, I can clean myself, I don't need some..." She blushed and then finished softly, "I don't need maids to clean my apartment..it makes me feel dirty and messy. Two guys are..." She hesitated, wondering if he planned on getting something to drink for them. She watched him carefully before saying again, "I can clean myself...You don't have to do anything, you are a guest in my home."
She did not avert her gaze as she saw him move forward, and move back again, looking dizzy. Her worries were getting worse about him. She got up quickly and ignored his question. "Dante, lie down for a minute. You seem..sick." That's definitely a good word to use, she thought irritably.
