Myra nodded and followed the two up the stairs. She began to wonder how big this place was.
Shiro shrugged some and finished his food. It felt good to have something on his stomach. Of course his joints were still aching, but he tried to hide it as he got dressed, readying to go outside.

Diablo put Cici down, taking her hand as she skipped by his side. He smiled over at Myra and gestured to the row of guest rooms. "It looks like they're all empty, so I guess just pick one." He was glad his mother wasn't there, considering she would probably have a better idea concerning where Myra would be staying. Like in Cici's room, next to Diablo's.
Maria waited in the hallway while Shiro changed, wondering what she was doing there. Was she just supposed to appear in the middle of the night to get Shiro a glass of water? Or was she supposed to shadow him around in case he needed something?

Myra nodded some and went to the first room and opened the door. It seemed this would be a nice place. Might as well enjoy the hospitality.
Shiro soon came out of his room and looked to Maria. "If you don't like it here, then go home."

Diablo stood in the hall with Cici, wondering if Myra would pick the room she'd just opened, or continue to look. He was suddenly nervous having her there, all over again. And then a strong voice from behind him said, "Hello son." Diablo straightened and turned, clutching his sister's hand while she smiled at their father. "Good to see you again," the man said gruffly. He looked to be an older version of Diablo, but sterner, and he was staring at Myra with a curious expression. "How has school been going?" he asked, looking back down at his son. "Um, er, good?"
Maria shrugged as she met Shiro's eyes. "I like Mesilici a lot less than I do here."

Myra closed the door when she heard someone else. A man. She looked to see a very much older Diablo, and she felt quite intimidated. After all, he had been staring at her quite sternly...
Shiro hmpged and shrugged. "Could have fooled me." he said, walking off.

Diablo swallowed. "Well, Dad, I'm in the top ranks of my class..." he said, trying to placate his father. "Perhaps if your concentration skills were better you'd be the top. Happy birthday," the man said, before leaving just as quickly as he'd appeared. Diablo gulped while Cici went off after their father, telling him that she wanted to be a princess.
Maria glared at Shiro's back and walked after him. "Hey, the only thing I don't like around here is your attitude!" she responded hotly. That wasn't true, though. She didn't like his being tortured, either.

Myra went back to Diablo's side and sighed a little. "Now I see why you didn't want to come back... Could I maybe stay closer to you?" the princess asked, looking up at Diablo with big innocent puppy eyes.
Shiro stopped and turned to her. "Bull and you know it. You're only here to take me back to that stupid school so you aren't the only one suffering, right? If that's it, then do what I do. Get used to being alone and enjoy the peace you get from it." he replied venomously before storming out.

Diablo was about to say something when his mother popped up again. "Of course dear! I've already got Cici's room ready! Oh you two are so adorable," she said, grinning.
Maria froze and stared after Shiro as he left. Sure, yeah, that was why she followed him. So was that why she felt tears in her eyes? She just didn't want to be miserable alone? She furiously wiped her eyes, trying to keep the tears from coming. They were a stupid emotional reaction. She felt like she was physically in pain from what he said, and she didn't like it. She remembered the days when she had no soul. Then, her emotions were learned and purely from her mind. She never cried, she didn't really laugh. Everything was fake, to convince people she was normal like them. She wanted that back....

Myra jumped, grabbing onto Diablo when his mother popped out of nowhere again. That grin was starting to get increasingly unnerving.
Shiro stormed out around the town soon finding a tree to sit under and pout. And he sat there for a while before hearing a jeering laugh. He looked over to see a group of guys about his age. Dammit, the bullies... And they threw petty insults at him. Monster this, orphan that. He got up, going to find a different place to sulk until one grabbed his arm and threw him onto the ground, a foot digging into his back, keeping him pinned. "Don't move ya freak. Ya think you're so special just because you can stand a little pain! No matter what you do, no one will like you. You're a stupid mutated beast! Of course no one will like you! Especially not any girls!" they sneered and chuckled at him as he struggled to get up. But he only found his face smashed into the cobblestone, a foot on the back of his head. He could feel something under his head. His nose was bleeding... Perfect.

Diablo wasn't sure whether to laugh at Myra's fear of his mother, or to just let it go. He decided on the second choice. "Come Diablo, show her the room! You can be so rude sometimes," his mother scolded, before heading off to do something else. Diablo took Myra's hand and led her upstairs to the rooms that the family lived in.
Maria was still standing in the hallway, but it was like she had some sort of radar. She headed outside, and was walking around some trees when she heard someone hit the ground. She turned to see a group of guys hurting a kid, calling him a freak. She glared and stormed up to the group, not noticing their victim was Shiro. "What do you think you're doing?" she demanded, crossing her arms.

Myra just followed Diablo, but she soon stopped him. "Diablo... I don't want to make you uncomfortable. Well... Moreso than you already are by just being home... I could leave if you want..." she mumbled. Maybe it was a bad idea to come here with him... She felt like she was ruining everything.
The boys looked to her and all of them snarled, but laughed. "What do you care outsider? Why don't you go mind your own business! This is our punching bag!" they said, a few of the bigger ones using their body mass and their large wing spans to force Maria away.

Diablo turned and raised his eyebrows. "Please no. Don't leave me with these crazy people," he whispered, with a little teasing tone. Though he was kinda serious. He was glad to have some backup.
Maria glared as she was forced away. Suddenly, a pair of giant eagles swooped down to knock the larger ravens that had forced her away to the ground. They were knocked several feat away, and Maria approached again. "Let him go!" she demanded.

Myra nodded some and hugged Diablo's arm. She would prefer to just stay with the boy. But sadly that might get a little too awkward for the demon's parents' liking.
The ravens scrambled back to their feet, cawing angrily as their leader kept Shiro against the ground under his foot. "Heh. For such an interesting chick, I wouldn't have pegged you for loving abominations." the boy said, sneering, as he pressed on Shiro's back harder, making him wince and grunt, his nose pouring blood.

Diablo smiled at her, leading her upstairs. "My room," he said, nodding to a door. He opened the one next to it. "Cici's room," he said. It had been cleaned up, all the toys put away in a chest, and a larger bed placed against a wall with a tapestry of a unicorn. "Secret passageway between the rooms," he said, knocking on the tapestry to receive a hollow sound.
Maria glared at the leader as he continue to hurt Shiro. The first thing she wanted to do was make some sort of comeback. Maybe express her dislike of being called a chick. Maybe respond that she really, really didn't love Shiro. Instead, she looked around as the other ravens got back up and started to include her in this little circle. Even with the eagles on her side, she knew this wouldn't end well for she and Shiro if she kept attacking them. "What will make you stop?"

Myra nodded, taking in the information before Diablo pointed out a secret passage. That made her happy. Maybe if it was a tunnel that closed up on both ends, it'd be a nice little spot to hide from everyone. And maybe steal a kiss or two.
The boys only laughed, the leader digging his heel into Shiro's back, making him cry out slightly. The pain from last night's lighting was still in his joints, especially his back. This was torture. The leader looked down at the raven pinned under his foot and in pain. "I'll only stop when this stupid monster is dead. He doesn't deserve to live like us normal ravens!"
