The way I treated Mandalorians, I made them like Ninjas.
Unstoppable alone, beatable in groups.

And since they never had large numbers in the Rebellion era, you got at most one.

A running gag was that the heroes had bought themselves an OOM-9 Battle droid (These were the ones programmed to order B1's around).
The droid was reliable and an effective back up combatant but always lost against Mandalorians (Clone wars joke) and had an outstanding hatred against blue astromechs.

As for the Mecha, the Heroes got 'em but they were never the focus of the RP. They used one on Hoth to buy the Rebels time to fall back ((Veers was surprised to say the least)), did battle several times against the Imperial Fleet, then actually teamed up with the Empire to take down the aforementioned Anti Imperial Terrorist group.

We had it all in that campaign. Exoitc locals, hair raising action, swashbuckling adventure, even romance and comedy.

It was our Space Opera, our take on the Galactic Civil War.

Hell the players were there in every movie. They were on Alderaan before it exploded, escaped from the Death Star, fought at Hoth, ran afoul of Vader on Bespin, and even Participated in a three part assault on the Death Star: one group went in with the commandoes, our Jedi battled a rival on the Death Star 2, and the other half duked it out over Endor.

Great memories, but it saddens me that such an adventure I'll never be able to do again.
Nothing I got will ever compare to it.

*sigh*

Blast...I'm rambling.

Ask Johnny and Ral. They know what I'm talking about.

The death of most of the Mechas and along with Kren, the feorin, was classic. One of the all time greats among our group. And I was among the snowspeeders shot down on Hoth, man that pissed me of that Cale managed to do that.

It all sounds like jolly g'd times.

I even have an old Robotech tape on VHS.

Also, am I the only one that thinks Mandos are ridiculously over-rated overpowered? ._.

Well Cale warned me that that was going to happen about that when we watched the battle beforehand. I didn't think that was going to happen to R'al (my character) because of his skill as a pilot. Unfortunately I was still shot down. Although I was also the one who questioned two fighters and a transport against the Star Destroyers. That was indeed a great campaign, so great that it's nigh impossible for us to get into another Star Wars RPG game.

No, my character that I play in my Friday night Star Wars RPG would tend to agree with you. The Mandies are worthy opponents, but they have yet to stop this Republic trooper from tarring them out of their armor and hanging it on my wall.

As for me, I'd just like to smack the dolt that thought it was a good idea to dig Boba out of the sarlacc pit. ._. I swear, he's like the Star Wars universe's equivalent of Jason and Freddy! eek

I personally like it that Boba Fett survived his Sarlacc Pit Fall.
his place as the new Lord Mandalore, while not quite fitting him, is deserved to say the least.

And the reason you got shot down, Ral, Is because you passed right infront of Veers.

As for overpowered Mandos, that depends on your Mando.
But its a safe bet the majority of Galctic Citizens hadnt hunted down and killed a man at age 13 to prove he was an adult.
Mandos live for war. They focus their lives around conflict and battle.
Your average soldier fights because its his job.
Mandos fight because its a way of life.

You just wanted us to match the movie, that's the only reason. Although it was pretty funny realizing the stark difference between Cale's and my conversation before we headed out compared to Luke's.

You passed in front of Veers.
Hos Crew is top notch. Watch the movie. The Walker PIVOTS to hit you with a shot.
I think you can give them at least a little credit for managing to hit you.

Remind me again what was all different between your guy's conversation and that of Luke and Dack. Its been a while.

I still hold a grudge against Lucas for pulling the whole Jango Fett/ Boba is a Clone deal.

Totally ruins most of his old books about the man, and puts them on the highest shelf a Star Wars book can be.

That’s why your characters have kids, to continue the story when your first character gets to old or dies. We have a few games with the children of dead characters are running around with the older characters that survived. Brings in the family prospective to the game. Like I’m running around with my dad because my mom is trapped inside of a Holocron. And I got to deal with him being upset that he couldn’t protect my mom and now he’s overly worried about my brother and me walking down the path of a jedi like our mother before us. Mom’s fate hit dad very hard and he’s never recovered from it. He hasn’t even climbed into the cockpit of his X-wing in over ten years, and he was the ace fighter pilot of the group.
