I know! X_x I hope he finishes book 12 before the disease takes him. He plans on writing for another 30 years, thus outlasting the time frame they gave him. Anyway! Just started reading...I'm amazed already. Only on chapter 12 of The Eye of the World.

Book two and book three are kinda slow (Book two more so), so don't let those deter you. You're gonna love books four through eleven, if you're into mass loads of trolloc, mydraal, and Sanchean (you'll see) battles.
