Teo loved games like this. A combination of relying on touch more often than his friends did, and having a less serious case of Rot helped a lot. Teo took a try of his own. He was less successful than normal, however, having failed to notice a particular detail. He won a puppet for himself. That was...odd? Something about it felt off. Oh well.
As he started to put it in his bucket, something grabbed the foot of the puppet and pulled on it. He picked the puppet up higher until he could put the thing holding it in his hand. It was a flitterrat. Aww, cute!
Ustule smiled. "Eet ees a telent thet I enjoy. I heve...a special fondness for revenents," she added. She didn't dare explain why. Instead, she took a turn at the guessing game, and did well enough to earn herself a stuffed skeleton. Excellent! She smiled and handed it to a revenant to hold. The black and white revenant, the one she had already named Epitaph, held it in its paws and blinked at it. Before Ustule could say anything more, though, someone threw a turnip at her. "I weesh they would stop doing thet!" she said with frustration.
Perigor was just turning away from his turn at the game--he did well, he'd earned a lollipop--when he noticed Xei's struggle and stepped over to his new friend's side. "Do you need any help?" he asked the Litch. "I mean, with wheeling backwards and stuff." It seemed that Xei was the "I need to be pushed" type. Hey, nothing wrong with that! Peri was strong enough to push someone's wheelchair while Promme was distracted, no problem, and it was nice to have friends who needed help. He...liked feeling useful. It was an alien feeling, but a nice one.

Quilo seemed to rally again. I guess he's not as bad off as he thought he was, Yaviss thought. He picked another pumpkin, this time winning a candy apple, then stepped aside for Quilo.
Quilo's next turn at the game was the final straw. He won two prizes this time--a glowing meteorite and a plush skeleton. As he put his hand on the meteorite, an image of Ella's lovely face swam into his vision. He gasped and blinked back tears. He shoved the plushie at Yaviss. "Thanks for the evening," he choked. "But I have to go home now. Here, keep this!" With that, he collected his things and ran home sobbing.

It was Jie, nervously giggling, who supplied the answer. "We don't belong here," the Bakeneko said.
With those words, a bright green light filled the room. It was strongest in a square on the floor, outlining a trapdoor. The group looked at each other, nodded, and opened the trapdoor. The protocol they had established several rooms back to get into the doll room was followed once more. Oriset opened the door and left her cauldron and her cat at the entrance. She climbed down the stairs, looked around, and whistled. "Okay, cat first." She held out her arms for Dust and set him on the floor down below. This was followed by her cauldron. Each member of their party followed, with Nightmares and Daydreams coming first, followed by large pets and then by treat buckets. Nai closed the trapdoor behind them, as his cat was small enough to fit in his pockets and needed no arms to carry. He folded up the ladder onto the trapdoor and looked around.
The room on the first floor was a laboratory full of tubes and--urgh. Torture victims. Manikins, Ori told herself. Now the meaning behind the torture chamber became clear. Each one was connected to tubes that drained a bright green substance from them. At the feet of one victim was a pile of objects--small jars of goo and glowing necklaces. Ori picked up a jar of goo and put it in her bucket with her rats. Dust was entwining himself around her feet, desperate for attention or reassurance or both. "Okay, so what's going on here?" she asked the rest of the group.
Wyrdda picked up one of the glow necklaces and put it around her neck. I think these people are being drained for their essences, she signed. Perhaps to make the dolls and puppets we saw upstairs come to life.
Jie laughed hollowly at the translation. "Oh, joy," she said. "So the next room is going to be full of more moving dolls and puppets? Just our luck." She took a small jar of goo. As she bent down to put it in her bucket, a small form cautiously poked its nose out from behind the victim. It was another kitten. Jie blinked and held out her fingers for the kitten to sniff. To her delight, it complied, walking over to her and rubbing against her hand.
Kunibert picked up a glow necklace and handed it to Nai. "I sink you need vun of zese," he said. "Since I already have vun."
He looked around the room and nodded at a door. "Yes, I sink you're right, Jie. Ze next room might be ze vorst vun."

Naihilus picked up a jar of goo and held it out to Kuni, who shook his head. Alright then, he'd just keep this. But when a little rat poked its head out at Nai, he picked it up and held it out to his roommate. "Could you hold this?" he asked Kuni. "I'd keep them, but I've already got a kitten, and I don't want this to be a massacre."
With their treats all taken, the body of the victim let out a long, bloodcurdling groan. "Don't," they wheezed, pointing weakly at the door. "Don't..."
Vanna raised his hand as if to stop Kingston from running off only the Grimm had already bounded off, that boy was going to get himself into trouble one day. Big trouble, Vanna could just see it, which was bad considering if that trouble happened around Vanna then Kingston would. Vanna shook his head. Kingston wouldn’t die just because he was associated with Vanna. Vanna would make sure of it. He would. No matter how egotistical and probably unpractical it sounded.
He distracted himself by looking in his bag… and had to frown. Some one had apparently placed a white chocolate bat candy there. When in the world had gotten into his bag, that was a bit worrisome actually.
Mai sighed. It seemed like they were making a bigger mess. Considering Kingston had valiantly run off to apprehend the criminal Mai snagged away to the bathroom to get more towels and some damp paper towels. However when she came out she noticed she somehow had a Nezubat on her shoulder… when did that get there “Ah hi there... You are welcome to come along. We’re off to rescue Ren from the goop” Mai replied. It cheeped as if agreement and she walked over to Ren. A few moments later Kingston came back “We do match. We’ll totally have to get one for Ren and Vanna so they can match too”
Ren watched as Mai walked off and kind of stood there awkwardly apparently he looked somewhat pitiful and an older lady walked by giving him a plushie. He gratefully took it and kind of held it. Sure it was silly but the thing was soft and fluffy and he kind of needed that right now. However Mai was back with a companion in no time with more towels and even Kingston had come back. “Really it was enough that you went after them. I… well things like this happen all the time.” Ren admitted. “And it meant a lot that someone wanted to dash off valiantly for my sake really. Thank you Kingston”
“Yeah she starts to get upset, that girl takes shopping quite seriously and to date I’ve only managed to thwart her once… alas” Samhain shook his head and then thought about Nashira’s question. Was he having fun. Hmm he wasn’t sure, but he at least wasn’t bored. “Don’t know yet. I’ll get back to you later. I wasn’t kidding when I said I’m not really out long enough… “ “Ah yeah I guess we do?” what was with people and matching, but then hadn’t he picked out the bracelet on the thought that it wouldn’t clash. Ugh…. Could he bash his head into the vendor table. No… darn.
Instead he quickly picked up a bag of skull candy and started munching on it as a distraction.
Aurelia looked up at Meadow when he suggested to take pictures of the sugar skull so she could still see it and eat it. "That's a great idea!" She squeezed Meadow in a big hug before he suggested they go check out the games, giggling as he grabbed her hand and she followed him as he led her to the game with the little ghosts floating in the pool. She watched him curiously as he grabbed one and was given a chocolate bat. "Ooooh, I wanna try!" She clapped her hands giddily before she walked over and snagged a ghost with a little yellow dot on the bottom. The vendor took it and handed her a shiny (if cracked) glass eye with a smile. "This is a mystic eye that's said to bring you good fortune. They say that if you put it up to your forehead, you'll see your future partner." He winked at the nixie and chuckled a bit as she stared at the eye, curious and confused. "Huh....this is pretty cool."

Iolanthe wandered about for a bit till she felt her tummy rumble slightly, suddenly smelling all sorts of delicious things....but what caught her eye was the shiny caramel apples. She skipped over and paid for one, taking small but delicious bites as she wandered to another game booth. You threw a set of darts at a wall of balloons and depending on what the note inside of them said, you'd win something. Curious, she decided to go for it. It took her a few misses before she finally popped one and was handed a cute plush vespercat!
Kohaku wandered into the festivities, looking at the various games and food stands. Everything was just so colorful it was hard to focus on everything....but they did make sure that Seeker and Raisin were safe and still with them. Someone walked by and dropped something into their bucket, speed-walking off before the baphomet could stop them. Looking inside they saw an interesting candle sitting next to a cute vespercat plushie that was very very fitting for the holiday.
Gilly hummed as she followed close behind her vespercat, whom she had finally chosen to call 'Soop' after the tasty pumpkin variety that was promised to the entire school when they all returned from their adventures. Though at this rate, who knew when they might be done, with Soop finding her and Zoe treat after treat! She suddenly bumped into an older nightmare who was not only sans a costume or anything remotely looking like the Haunted Hallows spirit, but had a dingy pillowcase the color of a burlap sack, which Gilly found odd since the more colorful pails were free. If he was going as a bandit, he sure looked the part! "Hey kid," he said with a glint in his eye that went completely unnoticed by Gilly, "Got anything good in there to trade?" She beamed and showed him the contents of her pail. "I sure do! Soop here has been leading me to ALL of the best treats tonight!" "Has he now?" the older kid said, pretending to diligently study the inside of Gilly's pail. "Well I DO see something I like, so let's trade!" He pulled something out of his pocket instead of his bulging pillowcase and practically threw it into Gilly's pail. She reached in eagerly and pulled out...... "HEY!" she shouted angrily as she held up the object. "This is just a crummy old roc-!" She gasped as she saw that the nightmare was already vanishing into the crowd, trying to shove a very angry and hissing vespercat into the pillowcase. "NO!! COME BACK HERE!" she cried out and gave chase, trying to keep up but the tears beading in the corner of her eyes making it harder to see ahead. Suddenly, she stopped short at the sight in front of her. Dozens of freshlings (and even a few older ones) were gathered so thickly around the thief that she could barely see him, but she sure could hear him. "Leave off; that stuff's mine! The stupid cat tore a hole in my pillowcase! Go away! C'mon! Leave it aloooone!" She could hear his cries met with others. "Nuh-uh! You stole this from me an hour ago!" "Hey look! There's my candy bar!" "And MY toy!" Prancing toward her with a smug air and a mouth full of plushie, Soop stopped in front of Gilly and proudly laid the plushie at her feet. Ignoring it for a moment, Gilly scooped him up in her arms, where he commenced to purring. "You did that to him, didn't you? You're such a great kitty! I promise I'll never let anyone take you ever again!" Letting him down, she reached to pick up the plushie. "But what is it you've brought me? It's really cute, but so......weird." She turned to Zoe, just now caught up. "Hey look; ever see a stranger plushie in all your life?"
Zoe could hardly believe what had just happened! She had thought her friend was right behind her when she came up to the next house and received a lovely bag full of chocolates, but when they didn't give any to her friend, she had turned around just in time to see an older kid throw something in Gilly's pail and snatch up her vespercat! "Oh!" she cried out and ran from the porch, but Gilly had already noticed and was giving chase, so all Zoe could do was follow as best she could. It seemed to have turned out okay when she caught up; the thief was sitting there in a miserable pile of wrappers and torn bits of pillowcase and bawling like a baby, and Gilly was cuddling her pet and observing a strange plushie that gave Zoe pause in spite of the circumstances. She shook her head at her friend. "I don't know what that plushie is supposed to be, Gilly, but this is exactly the reason why we should have stayed with the caretakers!" She sighed a little. "Well, let's just be more careful from now on, and be sure and stay together!" She sniffed at the thief before ushering her friend away. "At least he seems to be through for the night. Serves him right; taking things from freshlings. I hope one of those other kids tells on him."
As he moved away from a stand that featured delicious chocolate bats, Ruari blinked as he noticed a slight commotion off to his right. He watched as someone who had apparently been getting his treats the naughty way received his comeuppance at the hands of a fluffy, orange vespercat. He turned his head and smiled at his own fellow, who he had called Rumor. "Friend of yours, Rumor?" The cat sniffed and watched the other go with narrow eyes, then turned and watched as a few freshlings came walking up with a caretaker in tow and all talking at once about how the offender had stolen things from them throughout the night. Already apparently shattered from the loss of all his plunder, the youth was led away with no trouble, and Ruari just shrugged as he watched the festivities around him commence as though nothing had happened. "Some place, huh?"
Nashira gave Salem a friendly smile. At least she hoped it was friendly. She wasn't judging him for liking to tease Lace... wait, who was Lace? She didn't actually know... "Well, let's do something fun. Would you like to pick a game? I see the strength tester over there, where you hit the pad with a hammer... or there looks to be some sort of skiball?" She looked at all the various games. She really wouldn't want to drag Samhain or Salem around to things they didn't want to do.
she had already forgotten about their bracelets when someone came and handed her a handful of candies. She looked at them and knew what they were. They were the world's most disappointing candies that tasted like chalk and a hint of sugar.
Kingston:
Kingston gave Ren a huge smile when he was thanked. "Hey, what are friends for? Oh, uh, you still have a little..." He waggled his finger near his own ear to let Ren know there was a bunch of goo still there. "Do you want to go to the washroom maybe?" He looked at Mai then. She seemed to have gone and gotten paper towels... and a nezubat. He wasn't sure how the bat was going to help clean Ren up, but it sure was cute.
"I think we absolutely should get the two of them matching bracelets. All 4 of us can match. They'd be like friendship bracelets or something..." He looked up at Vanna and grinned at him. "And purple is totally your color."
After he had said that, he reached into his bucket for a piece of candy, feeling a little peckish, and pulled out a dark wrapper. He popped the candy in his mouth, and instantly spit it on the ground. "Oh my goodness! That's not candy! That's a crime against nature! It's like glue with some sort of ... fake sugar paste!"
Vega:
Wandering around, Vega found a game with water gun and balloons. He wasn't very good at aiming the stream of water, and so the round ended with him only having filled a balloon about half way, but the man running the game snuck him a little prize. He liked the bracelet a lot! It was a shame it wasn't red, but orange was good too.
Meadow:
He watched as Aurelia picked up a ghost and didn't really get a great prize. It was still kind of cool, but it was also really dumb? It was a broken glass eye for crying out loud. But Aurelia seemed to like it, and magical mumbo jumbo aside... it might be something fun to enchant later when they were older. "Maybe this isn't our game. Let's try that one down there!"
The game Meadow lead them too had a small platform for you to walk up to, and a rubber chicken sitting on a strange looking platform. Beyond that was a spinning circle that had a couple cauldrons on it. The proprietor explained that you were supposed to hit the circle in front of the chicken to launch it into one of the cauldrons. "This looks hard, but a lot of fun. I want to try!" And Meadow did. He hit the platform with all his might and launched the chicken right into one of the plastic pots. He was given a bag of caramel eyeballs just for playing, and a plushy dressed up in a pharaoh Halloween costume. "YAY! I won! Now you try Aurelia!"
Charon:
Charon was starting to feel pretty hungry, so he decided to check out the food vendors. He stepped up to one, but before he could say anything, he was handed a box of raisins, and the old woman behind the counter gave a toothless smile and a 'trick or treat.'
"Actually, I was hoping to get some dinner..." He explained.
"In that case, you're our 100th person tonight! You win a prize!" and he was handed a rather... strange looking plush. It sort of looked like a mutated elf? What was this thing?
Keahi:
Keahi was quite content for now, playing with their plush toys, away from the crowds who were playing games and talking and having food. But while they weren't paying attention one of the caretakers brought them a small plate with a corndog and chocolate bat on it. They smiled at the care taker, bringing their pluhies closer before taking the plate to eat. They smiled to show appreciation to the caretaker, but they were already gone.

Prometheus was not exactly a fan of this game, so he stayed out of it while Xeizii played. He looked back to Ustule at her question, "he ees doing weell. He hes teken a liking to Xeizii recently end usuelly climbs into his bed et night." That did amuse Prometheus at least a little- it was a surprise the first time it happened and Xeizii had been so touched that he told Prometheus to leave it alone and ended up staying in his bed for an extra two hours while the revenant slept. Silly thing.. "You seem to hev become quite the revenent whisperer." He noted her new companions with a bit of a smile.
Once Prometheus had gotten him into place, he reached into one of the boxes to feel the object inside... Thankfully it was something nice-furry? He squinted a little in thought as he mulled the texture over in his head... It was probably something southern so he wouldn't be able to make much sense of it.... but eventually he gave his answer and was awarded a bit of candy. Since Prometheus was busy, he attempted to wheel his chair backward to give space. Ugh... this was a lot harder than they'd told him it was going to be- blame it on the lack of strength he had.
By the time he'd gotten himself out of the way, he was holding back a few coughs so as to not alarm Promme. A passerby dropped a plush into his lap. People sure were generous out here!
It was starting to get a lot... colder than Neptune had expected. He shivered a little, then jolted slightly when he felt something step on his tail- not enough to make it hurt, but enough to give him a bit of a fright. He looked around and spotted a little fennekit staring up at him.
"Oh.... uh.... th-there's another fa--familiar here..?" Hesitantly he reached down to pet it...and the little creature immediately nuzzled into his hand. Welp. One more to the group?

Pangurban tilted his head slightly, watching her as she fussed with the plush. Again with romanticism... was it really romanticism? He supposed he didn't know the definition really- or at least all of his association with the word had to do with romance movies or something. Gross.
"If you say so. It is nice to meet you as well." He nodded slightly, eyes glancing around once more. "Did you also come alone?"

Did frog-girl just make a death motion at him? Meimu's blank expression slowly turned sour as he continued to stare at Zahneel and her companion. He wasn't sure what he was going to do about that, but really. He hadn't even done anything (yet) and she was making death signs at him. Completely unreasonable. A passing person seemed to think his sour expression was a sad one and passed him a lollipop, then patted his head between his ears before disappearing into the crowd.
Threatened AND patronized. This really wasn't the lot of fun that people had said it was going to be. Well, he'd just follow Zahneel around at a distance for a while to freak her out or something. That would do it.
Eliot headed out of his apartment to check out the hallows eve festival. He was curious what all there was to find at the festival. Eliot walked around the different booths, he chose to buy a thing of cotton candy. He started to eat his cotton candy as he walked along. He hummed softly to himself as he moved along looking at all the fun spooky stuff everywhere.
This was Syth's first Hallows eve festival, so much of his time had been spent hiding away with his family trying to convince them into believing times had changed. Now Syth was living his life for himself. He intended to meet that special someone, get married and start a family. He had just graduated from the academy and applied to go to the universities. He had been so excited when he was accepted, Syth had a lot of big plans for his future. Syth turned seeing a dart game, he picked up the darts and attempted to hit the balloons to pop them. Syth smiled when he popped a balloon with a star underneath. He picked out a bag of skull candies.
