"Wow...you're blurring the lines between plant and animal..." she mumbled quietly, amazed that someone could engineer a plant to work that way. "So...what does that one do...?" she asked, pointing to the covered plant that was letting off a blue glow.

"No no, not animal. Not at all. Animals have blood, muscles, weaknesses...my plants...my plants are just evolved. They can think and feel more sensitively then their...obsolete ancestors. My plants can kill, defend themselves, spread at will!" he said, proudly.
He grinned when she motioned to it. "That...is my favorite one." he said, going to it.

Miya honestly didn't know whether to be astounded or scared. She felt both, at the moment. "So...you're playing God? Speeding up the evolution process along the lines you think best?" There wasn't any hostility in her voice. Just disbelief and curiosity.
And that glowing one...his favorite? What could it do that would make it the favorite of someone so proud of such precisely deadly organisms? "...What does it do?" she asked simply.

"If you believe in that sort of thing, then yes. To me, I'm just helping the weak. Think, if someone cannot defend themselves, you give them the means to. Armor. A gun. A weapon. That's exactly what I've done. These plants, nature itself, can't defend itself from man. So I've given them what they need so they can." he said, standing by the glowing tank.
"Sadly, I can't show you this one. But I sure can tell you about it. You see, the Neon lighting causes distortion in the brain, projecting a sort of 'mind control' to either bring the prey to it, or to move it to more prey. It's also the first mobile-plant, able to coil some of the upper plants into 'legs' and the rest into a type of 'body', moving like a tri-pod. Any part of it can be used to lash out and impale the prey before the roots drain the nutrients." he explained with a smirk.

"I see...makes sense, I guess. They didn't really have enough time to naturally evolve against humans..." she said, tone indicating that she agreed with his thoughts and actions.
And then he described the other plant. That sounded...so terrifying, yet so utterly magnificent. "Amazing... But...how does it keep from affecting you? I mean...if you made it and studied it, you had to have gotten close enough..." she asked, curious and confused.

He grinned almost a little too proudly. "That is, perhaps, the most stunning part. Each of these plants know who I am. They don't attack me, because they know I created them. Helped them. Take care of them. They know what I want to do, and can even understand commands I give!" he explained, going to another plant, the second one that resembled a weeping willow. "Like this one. Each of these whips are razor-blade sharp and can slice through anything I've put into there so far...yet.." he started, reaching into the tank. He put his hand by it and the branches harmlessly wrapped around his fingers, and he pulled away, 'petting' the plant. "Isn't it magnificent??"

"The plants...can think? That's...wow..." Miya just shook her head, grinning faintly. "Aleron, you're a genius. If anyone can figure out the secret behind this 'infection' stuff, you can. Speaking of which..." she said, voice becoming more serious, "...these plants are fun, but you should probably get to work now...before I stick you back in the sickbay for the next 24 hours." Taking one last glance around the room, she quietly added, "When all this is over with and we get out of this place in one piece...maybe then you could show me more of your research."

He nodded. "I've been. I have some auto-bioscans running on the bodies, and have been running numerous tests on the samples. They should be finished soon, and I can report to the captain anything interesting." he answered as he went to the door, putting in a blood-sample with a small p***k of his thumb and the door unlocked. he opened it slightly and motioned for her to go first.

"You're a busy little mad scientist, aren't you?" she joked, a slightly surprised grin on her face. When she stepped out into the main lab again, she had to close her eyes from the relative brightness compared to the dark room. The first thing she did was look over to Sonja, still where she'd left her. Everything seemed fine, as far as she could tell. A quick check of her life force would confirm that nothing majorly bad had happened during the 'field trip', at least.

"Have to keep busy. If I am, I don't think about other things, and then I can stay focused." he answered calmly, going to his computers. He turned on his comm and would come through loud and clear. "Captain? Mio? Are the two of you there? This is Aleron." he reported.

Miya nodded, taking the opportunity to head over to Sonja. Looking her over...checking her vitals...making sure nothing weird was happening...

((Here for amybe 20 minutes, then gotta go pick up Ixor))
Aleron's voice startles Mio out of his ruminations on the repairs. "Yes, what is it, Aleron? Cap'n went to get some rest," he replies.
Sonja seemed to be resting better now. Her blood pressure was a little lower than normal, but better than it had been, and her heart rate was good.

Misha would wander toward the gally seeing as the Captain had the same idea she did. She smirked slightly and rubbed the chest plate of her armor, it didn't help her any but it comfoted her for a moment wondering if they would ever discover a cure on her homeworld for this damn thing. Though at the moment she was focused on getting something in her stomach, she hadn't eaten since they left the main GRS station. Her slightly red armor and yellowish gold visor made her a slightly intimmidating sight for anyone who would just happen to be around a corner but from afar it wasn't so bad...

((Alright.))
Aleron looked over the data. "My tests on the samples of that goo, and the flesh, teeth, and fluid tests should be finished in a few minutes. I trust you'd like to hear the results?" he asked, typing away on the computer rapidly as his eyes scanned data moving faster then normal.
